Gadaleto's Seafood Market & Eatery reviews
15Not a fancy place but THE BEST FRESHEST Seafood always cooked perfectly. Large choice of fresh fish. Fair prices, friendly staff. Anytime I'm in the New Paltz area I make it a point to stop in for a wonderful meal.
Everytime I am near New Paltz I stop here for their halibut. Grear seafood market and restaurant. IPA beer too! Staff knows their stuff, they rock!
Homey restaurant attached to a fish mongers. Fish is always delicious. Staff is friendly Always stop in to eat when I am near New Paltz!
SURPRISINGLY UNDERWHELMING! The truth is pure and I just tell it like it is. We went to the restaurant section for dinner. First we stopped at the counter where we were greeted by a polite man who took our order, then we proceeded to pick a table. The dining room is painted dull gray, it's more like a cafeteria setting where you go up and get your own silverware, or water from the cooler, no servers. If you're looking for ambience then No-Go. We had lobster rolls, I expected more, but they were just ok. Unfortunately for some reason they keep the door to the kitchen open so it can be noisy and odd to watch kitchen work going on.
The deal breaker was whenever the bus boy came out to gather dishes from the station where people leave them at the end of the meal he was slamming them together sooo LOUD I couldn't believe it! Treat others the way you want to be treated. Truthfully, no aspect of this dining experience would prompt me to want to be repeat customer.
Delicious lobster bake with mussels and clams and butter sauce. We take it home. Thanks chefs!
Omg! Let me start with. THEY HAVE THE BEST COOKIES EVER! I ate one b4 my meal, and took 2 to go! We ordered the swordfish chili, the cod fish tacos with grit cakes, raw clams, and beer battered cod and fries! Everything was outstanding! I can’t wait to go back! The staff was very nice, friendly, and helpful. The food is so fresh and served nice and hot! You order at the counter and they bring your food out!
The best seafood hands down ever anywhere! So fresh in-house or for pick up and whipping up yourself at their market
What a delightful experience! First time there and won't be our last. I had the fish and chips.the fish was light.moist and flaky.my husband had the clam and pasta.he loved it.he all so had the shrimp with cocktail sauce. I can't say how good it was bcuz he ate all of them.so they were delicious! Lol.
I get the cooked to order at the counter and eat in. The cook brings out the food when it's finished. The food has been fantastic and I love this arrangement.
All their prepared food and any fresh fish we have purchased has been excellent. We have been almost been poisoned twice by the "fresh" shrimp containing bleach in it. Gave them a second chance too - I guess with "fresh" shrimp they are all about poison for profit.
This was my first experience purchasing seafood at this establishment and I couldn’t have been more upset and disappointed. My favorite seafood market had closed down after more than 80 years of service which sent me searching for a new place where I could purchase 6 dozen clams that I needed opened for part of my Christmas dinner. When I picked up my order and opened the bag to make sure I had everything, I pulled out the container containing the “clams”. I should have known that something wasn’t right when I looked at it and saw black things floating in with the clams, something I had NEVER seen in the 30 years I’ve been buying clams. When I went to prepare the clams on Christmas I was totally disgusted. Not only was the container filled with just clam remnants but I couldn’t find one whole clam in the entire container! I will NEVER return to this place again
If you want fresh fish and seafood go to gadaleto' market in new Paltz.very nice and helpful people who get what you need.
I have bought seafood at Gadaleto’s before and it’s always been excellent but today was my first time dining in. My friends comment says it all: “I live on an island and I can’t get seafood this good there. ”
There is counter service and take out for now and a spacious clean dining room for eating in. You have a choice of disposable or reusable silverware.
All of the food came in generous portions and was truly delicious.
The bathroom was clean although it could benefit from a few minor repairs.
We will definitely be back!
Wow, this place is special. The negative is that there isn't table service, but the seafood is fresh and delicious, the prices are great, and they're friendly, oh and the place is spotless. Great coleslaw, polenta cakes, oysters, rainbow trout etc. Loved it. A hidden gem
