I thought I was going to a professional real estate agent, whom, would help me mitigate with the landlord. (To rent an apartment from.)

Instead, I was stuck in an apartment without a refrigerator for five months. I couldn’t store food in the house. The property was never maintained. Even for snow, rain, and ice. I cannot begin to tell you the amount of times I almost hurt myself, because of this. I had snow coming into my apartment, which I could barely keep warm. Nothing that was ever fixed, and a slew of shady business practices, including an illegal lockout after being late one month.

While being forced to sign a lease where I didn’t live there for two months. Not even their “maintenance” guy Larry, was helpful. Often downplayed everything and never fixed anything.

Called code enforcement; and Rebecca still didn’t do anything to help me with a fridge. Or issues I had needed to be fixed, since I moved in. Including a doorway, that was so rotted, it ripped right out of the frame when I first went into the apartment, upon move in. The shower head, was screwed onto a piece of wood. Just, so much. Including a time where I was able to lift my kitchen ceiling, and lady bugs were scampering in.

Claustrophobic is not “cute” or “quaint. ” For a run down apartment. Had to get a hold of free legal aid in Utica. The office was just as bad too. Heard the office gossiping about me, after I signed the lease.

Avoid.
