I do not like writing negative reviews but if this saves just one person from having the terrible experience we had at Genesis in West Islip it will be worth it. Several people warned us to stay away from the Atlantic Group but it was the closest Genesis dealership so we took a chance. We were comparing the GV70 to competitors in its class. We were impressed by the great reviews and the warranty. On our first visit our salesman Bruce gave us a good overview of the car. He knew we were looking at other cars and told us to make an appointment for a test drive after seeing the others. One of the things that brought us back was the $1000 incentive he told us we were entitled to as owners of a Lexus. Bruce was not there the day we took the test drive so out of loyalty to him we went back a third time with the intention of buying a car. The model we wanted was “in transit” so we were willing to leave a $500 deposit and wait for delivery. We expected to pay MSRP minus the $1000 incentive we were told we qualified for. Bruce said he couldn’t honor the incentive and his manager Lekwa NNate came over to close the deal. While talking to Mr. NNate we turned to Bruce to confirm that he told us about an incentive and we were hoping to get something off MSRP. Mr. NNate went into a rage and yelled at us stating that we were working with him now and should address him not Bruce. Then he stormed away. We should have walked out at that point but didn’t want this man’s bad temper to keep us from buying the car that we wanted. We requested to speak with Mr, Mooney, another manager we met the first time we were there. He smoothed things over, we left our deposit and went to the bank to get a check for the balance. The car did not arrive on the date we were told. The following week we heard from Bruce on Friday and made an appointment to pick up the car on Monday. As we were getting ready to leave to pick up the car we got a call that our car had been sold to someone else! What? How does that happen? We were furious. Bruce called us later that day to say he found the identical car and we could have it for the same price. When we got to the dealership we found out that the car he found was not identical and would be $3000 more for extras we had made clear we did not want. We got our deposit back and will never consider buying a car from this dealership again. Buying a car should be a pleasant experience, dealing with Genesis South Shore was exasperating.

Their Service Department is TERRIBLE. Worse Service Department I've encountered in 30 years of driving. Thye had my car for over a month and they never called me or returned any of my 5 phone calls where I left a message each time. Go somewhere else!

WORST service of any dealer. They try to sell you on service you don’t need. I lost my tire lock key and when I brought it to fix a flat, they tried to charge me hundreds to cut the boots, which they then admitted that they can use their universal key. Always the run around for weeks for a part. Promises are never kept. Appointments made are not honored. I was Promised a loaner and when I came in, guess what? No loaner. Only got one because I showed I was upset. Get your car somewhere else. I bought two cars on the same and I regret it. Don’t go here.

Erika and Jan are the best.super accommodating and very up front. Keep me in loop with all that was going on with my car from start to finish. Told me as soon as they knew details informed me the same day. Jan took me to my car after the repairs and went over everything. Could not be more satisfied with the service. Thanks again Jan and Erika.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THE PLANET! …. No clue how they are still in business. People are rude, condescending, and nobody has any idea what’s going on. I will NEVER recommend ANY HUMAN BEING to this horrendous place as long as I live. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS HELL HOLE! …. If I can give 0 stars, I would.

Not sure why this dealership only has 3.6 stars because I had an amazing experience. I had the pleasure of working with Joey, and he is extremely professional and knowledgable about the cars he is selling. Joey treated me like a VIP client and I was very impressed with the service I received at Genesis of South Shore. If you’re interested in a new or used Genesis walk in here and ask for Joey, you will not be disappointed. If Joey started selling bicycles tomorrow you would find me on the side of the road riding my new mountain bike with that group wearing the tight shorts

This review is to refute any past negative ones I’ve read.
And it specifically addresses customer service & how we were treated at dealership. We met with Bruce, Chris & Lekwa- so nice, gentlemanly, attentive & helpful. We decided we definitely will buy a car there & happy we stopped off there despite some really bad reviews that we did NOT encounter.

This is by far the most inept dealership I've ever dealt with. STAY AWAY! I bought a beautiful GV70 from them. Love the car! Here's a quick overview of my issues: Four times they overnighted me the bill of sale because the billing dept couldn't get it right, The title had to be sent back and forth twice because they forgot to sign it.
They gave me the keys without any overview of the features and they left the floor mats and and security screen in boxes in the rear. The billing department would not return my calls regarding the errors in the bill of sale.

Great Experience! This team is SOLID!

Every step of the process is clearly explained and their approach is respectful. I recommend that you visit and meet with them. They work for you and the product is amazing!

Also, as a repeat Atlantic customer, it is their exceptional service department team that brings me back to their showroom.

Ok. Here we go. These salespeople were more than kind to us. They kind of made up for the mistake that was made.
They were so humble.
Thank you all for treating us like we were walking on the red carpet.
We are so happy we finally came to terms for our new Genisis.

Workers are lazy, they never answer the phone and when they do they give you an attitude like they're doing you a favor by doing their jobs.place is trash go to a different genesis dealer, this one doesn't value customers

Not sure what their story is: I am extremely frustrated with trying to lease a car from this dealership. I contacted them on Friday, Jan 20. Mike called twice but I was driving and he was supposed to call me back later in the afternoon but never did. I called on Saturday and was told he was not in and that they would connect me with a "manager" Sandra. We then agreed on the car and terms (she actually told me it would be a bit less as I was in NJ and the sales tax is less than in NY) and that "Hilton" would call me back in 20 minutes. Hilton called back and told me the car had already been sold and less than apologetic said "I am not the only one looking for a car". Later I found out the car was sold to their service department as a "loaner". I was astonished and asked why they would even care about the color. As I write this the vehicle is still showing as in stock at their dealership! Stock #: G230365. Something seems way off here

While I read the dealer response the vehicle as of yesterday, January 30 was still listed as available on their website offering the $7500 rebate! Today it is no longer shown after I raised more questions as to why it was still showing.

Once you sign the contract, they will ghost you haha. Been trying to call Robert in finance for 3 weeks now, 7 times, he keeps saying he will call me back but won't because I realized they overcharged me by having me signed up for key remote warranty which i dont remember doing. I then looked at the contract and it wasn't even my signature! Hopefully putting this review he will call me back.
