Gentile Ronald MD reviews
10Phenomenal doctor with terrific staff! He is brilliant and top notch in his cutting edge surgical knowledge and skills. He is caring, compassionate, yet down to earth and personable. I'm so fortunate to have had him fix a complex retinal detachment that others wouldn't touch. He is the best!
The best doctor. No ego.easy to speak with and has an excellent bedside manner. Very confident we made the right choice with him, and I recommend him to everyone.
I developed cataracts in my 60's. Having been very nearsighted since my childhood, I was at greater than average risk to have retina problems after having my cataracts fixed. Sure enough, nine months after the cataract procedure, I had to go for retina reattachment surgery. That surgery did not go well; I had problems with scar tissue and fluid build up. The doctor who performed my retina procedure said a second surgery would be very complex and he was not confident he could deliver a good outcome. He referred me to Dr Gentile at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
I am now one month out from my second retina procedure, performed by Dr Gentile, which seems to have been very successful. I certainly already have better sight in the affected eye than I've had for several years and it continues to improve week to week.
I want to add that although Dr Gentile's office is very busy - he's in high demand - the place runs smoothly and efficiently. Wait times are reasonable, and the staff is highly professional and very polite.
I consider myself lucky to have been referred to him.
Horrible customer service, they made me wait 5 hours, this place need supervisor who will make sure first come first served.
You would be hard pressed to find a more dedicated Dr.and team, than Dr. Gentile. His office is very busy because he is very good. Caring, thorough, kind, he has an old school work ethic and approach to medicine, which is personal and immediate, but he also embraces all the latest techniques, research, and innovations into his practice. My condition is vastly improved, and I credit Dr. Gentile.
Dr. Gentile is truly a lifesaver. At the height of the pandemic I began to lose my vision, experiencing flashes and floaters, and was told by my general eye doctor that I had a detached retina in my left eye and signs of lattice degeneration in the right. I was in my early thirties and panicking to say the least. I sought out the expertise of Dr. Gentile at Gentile Retina in Manhattan and it was the best possible decision for my eye health. Dr. Gentile was kind, extremely knowledgeable and realistic about my post-op expectations and the future of my vision. He immediately reassured me that he and his team would be by my side throughout the entire procedure and for the rest of my future eye journey. I placed my entire trust and faith in him and he did not let me down. I underwent a full scleral buckle in the left eye and cryotherapy and lasering in the left. Dr. Gentile and his team checked on me and monitored my eyes throughout my long recovery and still to this day. It is almost three years post procedure and I truly owe my vision to Dr. Gentile. I highly recommend this practice and Dr. Gentile and truly will never trust my eyes with anyone else!
After giving him a bad review for his lack of bedside manners and condescending behavior towards my husband only worried about booking him for a surgery he didn't even wanted to take time to explain to him; he called my father in law (also a patient) to ask him to tell me to erase my review. Horrible butcher.
Dr. Gentile is truly the best of the best. I went to 4 other specialists before finding Dr, Gentile. His protocols are absolutely cutting edge including his use of a protocol of drops to attempt to close my macular hole. While we did not achieve full closure from the drops, ultimately my surgery to close the hole was much more successful since the hole was much smaller. I’m 6 weeks out of surgery and almost at 20/20 in the surgery eye. JUST INCREDIBLE!
Additionally, Dr. Gentile had me go for cataract surgery prior to the macular hole surgery. Had that not been done, I would have risked having the cataract removed later and that could have reopened the macular hole. None of the other dr’s were going to do that. (They were all like factories)
Dr. Gentile listens and takes your concerns very seriously. He’s empathetic and kind and just literally an amazing human. I’m privileged to have him as my doctor. I don’t know how to thank him enough for restoring my vision.
Dr Gentile is a wonderful professional. He saved my eye. After having 3 unsuccessful retina surgeries with other doctors, Dr Gentile was recommended to me. He was able to restore my eye sight from becoming completely blind.
