Gentleman's Barber Spa, White Plains NY

I was really looking forward to this place and expecting a luxury experience. Unfortunately, upon entering we didn’t even receive a “hello or welcome”. The only greeting we got was “your 10 mins late” and a judgmental look which made us very uncomfortable.

We turned around and went to the place down the block who gave us amazing service at a third of the price.

Not recommended, not luxurious.

It pains me to have to write this subpar review because I genuinely enjoyed coming here and the excellent services they provide, but it's safe to say I won't ever be returning again after my last experience. The first couple of times I went and got cut by Ahmed. I paid for the 79 dollar haircut and shave because I needed a full shave at those times. The last time I went I selected the 45 dollar option and was matched with a young 20 year old fellow working there who I had not seen before. He gave me a great haircut, no complaints there, but I asked him only to lightly buzz the sideburns of my beard and line it up on the neck, he must have thought this gave him the right to go back to the counter and refund my card for the 45 and recharge me 79 instead. I would have had no problem with this whatsoever if he would have had the courtesy to warn me "hey just letting you know if you want me to touch the beard in any way we have to put a different increased charge". I would have said sure no problem, go ahead, and they would have had me as a repeat customer. But now, just for that shady penny pinching act, I will never give this business another dollar again. What was done is unethical, that's no way to treat someone who's been there multiple times, and especially not to someone who tips well. Please let the kid know not to do this to anybody else without a warning.

Been going here for a couple years. It's a little on the pricey side for a men's cut, but my guy Ahmed does a great job, and the service is excellent (complimentary espresso/booze is a nice touch)

I discovered this place when it first opened several years ago. I shop carefully for my barber since my hair is thick and wavy. Very few barbers can cut it correctly. Well the first haircut was perfect and I have not been to another barber since. I book my appointment online and never have to wait and never am disappointed.

I went for a haircut and shave with Ahmed. Top flight work, it’s rare for me to have zero complaints when getting a haircut, but I’m truly satisfied with the quality and caliber of his work.

Very nice place. Great crowd. Great shave. Unfortunately I didn’t get the haircut I wanted. Just buzzing my head would of been better.
Talking to Ahmed I said a number 1 on the sides and keep the top as long as possible. He went straight for the high and tight. It would be a great haircut for an active duty Marine but not the look I was going for. Unfortunately I have to wait a few weeks for it to grow back out. I came in with my hair styled so he would know the look I’m going for. Usually that helps the barber. He buzzed the whole head and left a small puff of hair in the front. Too short to use any product, or comb.
Other than that a great place. The shave and after shave mud mask was great. A nice selection of whiskey.

I've never spent more than $15 on a haircut, decided to try something new and it was well worth every cent. Very clean shop, professional and talented staff (Ahmed was wonderful and thorough), and great value. You get what you pay for in the best way. I will be returning, that is how you run a business, high standards make for happy customers.

I would like to take the time to recognize Al for his outstanding and consistent service as public admiration for his ability is long overdue. I have been going to Al for over 3 years because of a close friend’s recommendation, that of which I am most thankful. I enjoy his mastery with the blade in order to curate an excellent haircut each and every time. It never fails in my day-to-day life to receive a compliment about my hair after every visit to Al! I enjoy every haircut with Al because of his genuinely kind and friendly demeanor which makes going a relaxing experience. I truly recommend anyone who values an amazing haircut experience to ask for Al at Gentleman’s Barber Spa!

Went in for a beard trim and was very pleased. Carlos did a great job. Also had a massage which was wonderful. Will definitely be back.

A wonderful and highly recommended place to go get your haircut. Amazing customer-centered approach by the hairdressers. A huge shoutout to Almir who looked after me and did an exceptional job! Highly recommend him! Great service and worth the money spent!

Pjeter is a professional! His shop is orderly and very clean. Pjeter is always accommodating when I schedule appointments. If you are looking for a top-notch barber, Pjeter is the man!

If I could leave a zero star review, I would. To say they ruined my hair is a gross understatement.

I have salt and pepper hair that has been graying worse on the sides. After researching the over the counter products, such as Just for Men, I decided I would see a professional colorist because I wanted the change to be subtle and didn't want to take any chances. I didn't want to look like one of those men with a horrible dye job. So I did my research and this establishment bills itself as high end and has a service called "Gentleman’s Grey Blending", described on their website as "maintain your natural look while adding some color. " Sounded perfect.

When I went in I told the owner it was my first time doing this, that I was nervous, and that I wanted only a subtle change. I specifically said I prefer less color to more color. The owner seemed to clearly understand this and gave instructions to the colorist. As she was putting in the material I told her several times that it looked too dark. She kept insisting that when it washed out it would be much lighter.

Remember, I went in with salt and pepper hair. I came out with a horrible brown hair with all of the grey gone. This is mortifying. I will now be in hiding until this horrible mess grows out, which could take months. It ends my dating life, embarrasses me during work calls, and is overall just horrifying. I am so sorry I ever went into this place. I certainly could have done a far better job with an over-the-counter product, for which I would have selected a light color dye and gone slowly.

Avoid this place. They destroyed my hair and have made me embarrassed to leave the house! Just look at the pictures. I walked in salt and pepper. Horrifying. They should pay to send me to a real colorist who can fix this abomination.

Almir and staff are professionals. I am glad I went there. I set appointment and am always pleased with quality, efficiency, and promptness.

I can’t say enough good things about Almir and the shop. He always makes me feel comfortable and is super attentive when he cuts my hair. Always promt and courteous. Highly recommend.

I cannot speak highly enough of this barber shop. Almir is probably the best barber that I have gone to, not to mention an extremely friendly guy. I had never had a professional shave prior to my experience here and let me tell you, it was awesome. You truly get what you pay for. I get compliments on my haircut regularly and have Almir to thank. They are extremely eager to help, prompt, and professional. The shop is always clean and welcoming.
