Wonderful weekend away! We did overlook mountain hike, inspiration point hike and kaaterskills falls hike, too. We love these little getaway cabins. This is our 2nd year coming (did the Western Catskills last year) and want to make getaway an annual tradition around the holidays together!

I cannot say enough good things about this campground. This was the first time I solo camped - this was the perfect campground that gave you the tools to feel confident in camping. It was like hotel camping if you will. They are super dog friendly as well!

One of the best little getaways. So quite and peaceful! We had a tent and full kitchenette and fire pit with hammock and Adirondack chairs and cooler! All we need to bring was food and ourselves! Will definitely be back again. The pictures talk for themselves.

We had enough amazing experience with the Getaway camping site!

Upon arrival the place was beautifully clean!
They have everything set up on site so you don’t really need to bring along a lot of things!
They even had marshmallows and skewers on site!

We took the DIY kit as we wanted to have a bigger tent, if you don’t need a lot of space I would recommend taking the full package.

Staff was very friendly and they replied in every text message I sang them even at 2 in the morning!

Thank you Getaway for creating a beautiful experience for my family!

Awful experience! DO NOT come, it doesn’t worth it. There’s bugs inside the room. And they even charged me an EXTRA full night fee from my card WITHOUT any notice! Also, instead of informing us they will charge us one more night so we can stay in, they expelled me and my friend and offered our room to other guests!

We stayed in March 2022. Everything was as advertised, with one notable exception - insects. There were ants and some other insects with us for our stay inside the cabin. I am pregnant, so it was nice that the insect spray we were given was natural, but because of the size of the ants it was also not very effective in keeping them at bay. We didn't mind the ones near the kitchen as much, but once we found one in the bed it was difficult to ignore. We also got what seemed like a spam call from a robocaller on the red phone inside the cabin which was strange (only happened once).

The cabin itself was very nice otherwise. The bed was comfortable, and the cooking supplies were actually quite nice. We loved being able to make a fire and sit outside, especially with how nice the weather was.

The service was responsive and very friendly. Because there is cell service in the Catskills East location we were able to text with Getaway and they sent cars over with bug spray within 20-30 mins. I would imagine the experience would be similar with other requests.

I stayed in the Nina. It was absolutely AMAZING. Staff was very helpful & everything was super clean! Love that they offer hot chocolate and s’mores to buy inside as well. Will be coming back soon!

*we emailed this to Getsway house on Nov 29 and have yet to hear back so now we are reviewing. The lack of response is unfortunate.

We recently stayed at Eastern Catskills getaway (November 26-28) with 3 cabins reserved, (Geraldine, Poppy, and Florence) and wanted to reach out regarding our stay. We appreciate the close proximity of the three cabins, and thoroughly enjoyed the surrounding areas restaurants and activities. However, we did not have as great of an experience as we had previously in Shenandoah. We are reaching out regarding Geraldine. We had registered to arrive with our dog, however nothing was out and readily available to us, in any of the 3 cabins, unlike our previous stays. We were expecting to have the dog bowls, information card, treats, & poop bags, however had to search for the bowls and bags- which were found under the sink. We were a little disappointed considering the thoughtfulness of the other location really made our trip start off on a good foot. Not letting that bother us, we continued to unpack and relax. Upon unpacking, there was a horrendous odor coming from the refrigerator that made all of our food smell unpleasant. As we were wrapping up our night, we noticed the indoor lock was broken in our unit, as well as the window screens missing, which made us not want to open the windows. When it came time for bed, our bed was incredibly firm, however in the 2 other cabins we reserved there were soft, plush mattress that we had fallen in love with at our previous stay. Lastly, when we arrived we noticed the utensils were filthy and had caked on food. For the amount of money paid on these units and from our previous experience using Getaway House, we were really disappointed in our stay over the holiday.

We’re not sure if the inconsistencies are across all getaway houses, however we just wanted to express our disappointment coming from a great stay back in March, to a less satisfying stay in November.

Thank you for your attention regarding these matters.

Exceptional service (very responsive and helpful), had all the tools needed for cooking, lighting a campfire and unwinding, and of course, the setting was magical. Would recommend 100% for a night or 2.

Such a cute experience for my kids & I. We stayed for my oldest son’s 13th birthday last week. They loved it. We’ll be back again!

First of let me say the response for the booking was great. I did not know there was a discount for medical professionals until after I booked. When I found out I emailed them and they answered right away and applied the discount afterwards.
The cabin was amazing, I stayed in the one bed cabin with my dog and it was great. All the amenities you think you would need are there. The view from the room's bed was amazing, you don't see any other cabins or people from the large window. You are far enough from your neighbor to have a nice private time if you are traveling with someone.
The bathroom was large, clean and very spacious.

There is no cell reception however each cabin has a landline you can use to contact staff if needed. If you do need to use your phone going higher up in the property or even just going back to the main road which is not a long distance will get you some cell service.

I would definitely go again maybe even during the winter season when it snows to have true calm and silence

You all helped break two 20 year streaks of city dwelling in style.
I know every company has a mission, but I don't think I have ever used a service that fulfilled its goals as well as Getaway has.

Also for anyone on the fence about going if a couple of bugs are capable of ruining your trip, maybe don't go during peak 'skeeter season. There is nothing anyone at Getaway can do to save you from that part of the experience.

Stayed a few times at the NH location which we love. First time at Catskills and so far not impressed. Got a tiny home.for four- w bunk beds - and it is the small version! All other tiny homes i see are larger around and for two ppl (only two chairs by fire) and the larger size (like the ones we've had in NH). It is also the darkest w no window in the kitchen area.
Instead of a heating/cooling system above the door, a loud ac unit eats up all the kitchen storage you would have in other models.
Only three plates and key code was not working when we arrived.

Pos: bedding. Interior of the cabin. Most things are included on the spot. The large window, and luckily our spot was faraway from the other cabins for privacy wink wink nudge

Neg: bathroom smelled like stale urine from a corner of Port Authority. Maybe even worse. Better to poop outside in the woods to be honest. For 200+ a night, (more expensive than a night in NY), you would expect some fresh bathrooms.

We booked this trip for a 2 night stay and left 3 hours after check in. Upon arrival we tried entering the code a few times and it didn’t work. Eventually they sent us a new code, which I’m assuming is from the people before us. We finally get into the cabin and noticed a few huge flying ants by the door and then on the beds and on the inside window next to the beds. We contacted the property managers and they said it’s expected to see a few bugs, which is fair so they gave us bug spray. We decided to wait it out for a little bit and then we saw more ants, a spider, and a flying insect that wasn’t an ant (couldn’t figure it what it was) above the bed. We would’ve felt a little different if the thought of bugs crawling on us while we sleep wasn’t something we cared about. While seeing a seamlessly never ending amount of bugs, we started to think what if there’s bed bugs? We decided to throw our stuff back in the car and head back home, a 2 1/2 hour drive starting at 9: 15 PM. By the time we left we killed over 15 bugs. The bugs just kept appearing out of nowhere. On the website they talk about cleanliness and covid safety but I question how well they cleaned if there’s that many bugs there. We told them we left and they offered us a 2 night stay, no refund. We chose this place hoping for a relaxing few days and it was anything but that. When we got home we unpacked everything in our living room in fear a few bugs came back with us. I didn’t expect a 5 star hotel but I expected more than we got for the $400 we spent.

My fiancé and I (as well as our rescue pup) stayed at the Eastern Catskills Getaway site for a 3 day stay (if you can stay for multiple nights, I would highly recommend buying a multi-night package to save some $). In short, we did have a nice time, the cabins were close to some hiking, provided a great opportunity to take our dog on vacation. It is not however, idyllic serenity or vast open spaces that you will find.but more so the potential for the mindfulness to quite literally use the cabin or tiny allowed space as a window into the concepts of being "alone".

Getaway does provide a special atmosphere, and in large part I believe that they have done a wonderful job instilling a sense of escape, a sense of togetherness and a sense of obligation to the stillness around you. Often, I was impressed by the collective silence in the air, even with the presence of over 50 cabins in a relatively small amount of space.

Unfortunately, however you are left somewhat at the mercy of the respectfulness of those around you. (As a personal recommendation, it wouldn’t be a bad idea for Getaway to have a staff member drive the grounds and respectfully ask people to be mindful of their surroundings).

For some it provided a haven to take their “party” outside. At one point a car blasted music on the way in, I recall thinking to myself that it would be disappointing if they were at a cabin close to ours. Luckily they drove on, but during a later walk around the grounds we found them blasting music outside, shouting and dancing. For the 10+ cabins around them, it certainly ruins the experience. To our disappointment, a family of 12 arrived that night, and set up a large tent outside the cabin across from ours. They proceeded to make a ruckus until 2: 30am. As a courtesy, for all of those that may read this, if you plan on disrupting the serenity of the entire space, I’d kindly recommend a public campground or state campground.

The place is very small and really close to the other trailers. It’s hardly a “getaway”. There’s at least 10 trailers on the same road and not much to see in the surrounding places. Also, a lot of hidden fees. We cleaned the place and put the trash in a bag before leaving, but they claim we had a bottle near the bonfire and used their wood for the bonfire so they need to charge $40+ extra. Would not recommend it to friends.
Update: my friend wasted more time with customer service, nothing changed

The perfect cabin experience. Everything including bathroom was super clean (which was un-expected for a cabin). We loved that all campfire rawmaterials were readily available, with a personal touch. Including the ones for smores. Only -ve: The AC was throwing debris while turned on - which we realized might be because it was never turned on in the past winter months.

Absolutely awesome place! Cute and cozy. My boyfriends name is Tony and they gave us the Tony cabin, which honestly made the trip that much better! Best mini vacation ever!

My boyfriend and I enjoyed a two night getaway at the eastern catskills outpost in the Maisie Cabin. The cabin had everything that we needed. Major props for the comfortable bed and pillows, as well as the stunning forest view. We also used the grill outside and made some delicious grilled meats + s'mores! We forgot to pack a s'mores kit but the getaway had s'mores prepared for us. The only snag we hit was that the screen door was constantly jammed and we had to yank it so hard that the handle fell off. However, we were able to quickly communicate that to getaway and got a quick response. We were able to get back inside the cabin ourselves but they have 24/7 service for these kind of emergencies. Around a 20 minute drive from the outpost is kaaterskill falls which is a short hike that ends in a breath taking waterfall. It was definitely worth it and I highly suggest everyone to try the hike starting from "laurel house parking lot".
