Came here as a plus one to my brother and my boyfriend who attend boxing lessons. First time and I noticed not many people were wearing masks. Didnt mind too much since I kept mine on. The day pass was pricey just to use their gym equipment but boxing lessons are a lot of $$. The gym equipment were sticky and some didnt work like some treadmills. Their dumbbell/free weight area was at the very back so it was nice to be tucked away- but everything was covered in dust and dirt i had to wash my hands quite often. Some people were nice especially if you had connections- others will just stare you down. Theres a variety of people who come here but I wouldnt say its too great for women to be here, just isnt comforting- No one did anything to me or anything like that tho. What really sucked was the weight machines were bolted at greater weights than I could do which forced me to skip them entirely. My brother and boyfriend enjoy the boxing lessons and even got me to stay to see people spar. Was an interesting experience- would not return tho.

Went to visit here couple of years ago. From entering til i left i was made feel very welcome. I was allowed to walk about and take pics. There was training sessions ongoing and folk stopped to talk and ask where we were from. Great gym with great facilities. And defo not pretentious in any way. Will book a one to one next time im there to say ive done it at the world famous gym

Best boxing gym in New York Hands down. I love the atmosphere and everyone in there is super friendly. Great staff (highly skilled trainers) and perfect for anyone from beginner level to world champion level!

It was a great day in my life to visit NYC and work out at Gleason's. As an older guy with a card from out of town I made friends there easily and had such a great morning. I was invited to hang around in the office. A privilege and an honor! If you believe in the sport and work like you mean it, as best as you can, it's a place that will love you back.

Great, historic, ground-breaking (in women's boxing, and more) gym! Lots of space. Some great, championship trainers here-Teddy Atlas, Hector Roca and more. Ira Becker and Bruce Silveglade have fashioned a great boxing venue. Support Gleason's-Go now that it's open again!

I train here with Coach Roca. Wont go anywhere else. It is the best, and the people here become family.

I come to Gleasons often before and trained with Hector Roca, when he was away I was referred to a trainer called Martin Gonzalez. Martin Gonzalez from the very moment I met him make it known he only care about money and nothing else.he wanted me to pay 1 month in advance. I told him my training with him was temporary and when Hector comes back I will train with Hector again, he was very rude about it and told me that he was way better trainer than Hector Roca. I would avoid Gleason's for now while Martin Gonzalez is still there. He implied that Hector was a thing of the past.

I would recommend to avoid Martin Gonzalez as a boxing trainer if you value your money and time.

This is my wife and my home away from home. We have been training at gleasons for almost 10 years and love this place. Bruce and the staff are so wonderful and the trainers are so knowledgeable and professional. It’s an amazing place to train and to learn how to box
