Goodwill Clearance Center reviews
19If one believes in recycling or is creative at repurposing the Goodwill Clearance Center is the place to go!
I found this to be an overall pleasant experience. We spent the weekend in Henrietta to visit thrift stores as we have few options in our general area. Once you catch on to the ebb and flow it can be tons of fun. I found many great pieces including three pairs of Lululeon full length leggings. The regulars were helpful and gave us tips on what to do. Everyone including employees were super nice. We cannot wait to return
It’s definitely an experience and bring all my friends here:) I could definitely spend hours here and get a whole new wardrobe. Just gotta know how to thrift right ;)
Not much to see here, damn near everything is broken, dirty or useless. Great spot for random childrens' toys but thats about it. You probably wont find any clothing gems here.
Be careful when you go here it always is really dirty and it always smells like hot diarrhea so when you go always wear gloves and a mask
Stuff is put out almost every hour and you pay by weight. It's fun digging through the bins to find something random and cool.
I've only ever heard rumours about these clearance centers so when I found myself near one, to have a poke around!
This is a giant warehouse full of plastic bins on wheels. These bins are filled with all sorts of stuff, that were mostly uncategorised except that half the room was mostly clothing and the other half wasn't.
It's a bit like a yard sale in that you genuinely won't know what you might find and it is at an exceedingly low price - some by weight! But having had a good look around, I would be cautious about reaching into bins too carelessly - something that they warn you about on the posters around the hall.
Finally, if you are looking for staff, there aren't too many around. When I arrived I was told off for taking a photo (not allowed, apparently!) and that same person I paid later on when I carefully extracted my bargain from the bins.
I think I would be more prepared next time I go. Maybe a pair of gloves and a lot more time, but I reckon I'll be back: D
People were rude but that was not the stores fault. Worker argued with a man yakimg hoards of books and basically just let the man yelled at him and walked away without actually getting the man to stop.
Cashier was very nice. The store just didn't seem to have a lot of items unlike other outlets I've been to. But okay to visit for a bit.
Hit or miss. Have found alot of good stuff for pennies but sometimes people act like maniacs when the new bins come out
What an exciting experience! 1st time visitor to a bin. Lots of people and SO many bins! There was a lot of different things but the quality was not so good. Guess that's why they call it "clearance. " If you have the chance do go, if for nothing else but the experience. You don't need a lot of money either.another big plus!
This place is an absolute trip. It is so much fun looking through the bins. You have no idea what you'll find in there.
They also do this thing where they switch out the bins every so often and make everyone stand to the side. It feels like such an event
Cool concept remind me of Domseys in Brooklyn back in the day. Love Goodwill, but not my cup of tea. I feel.you need gloves and a hazmat suit.to shop here.it's a no for me.
First thing I would like to say is if you're new "they" will know. "They" are the people that stay in the store all day in shifts, "they" are the hawks of the store.
If this is your first time take a look at my photos and read the rules and take a look at the building layout as well read what I think are some things you should and should not do when at this goodwill.
1) READ THE RULES (I have a picture of them)
2) Wear gloves don't be bold (I have found underwear before unless that's your thing)
3) You buy by the pound here unless a tag says something else
4) Bring your bag empty, they do not give bags and the carts are I think 25cents
5) Don't bring children between 6 months and 5 years old they just don't get it and will not stay still
6) If possible come with 2 people you can through things faster and catch some good things
7) The mornings are not for the weak and also the best pickings
8) They will take it to heart when it's the morning time and the bins are rolling out.
9) Be comfortable and dressed the down this is not your normal thift stores
10) Mind your business, have patience and enjoy
Great selection and great prices. Everything is scattered throughout lots of clothing and textiles! Very friendly and helpful staff
Always a great time finding treasure/ but today one of the local guys that is here everyday passed. This place was his home, we'll miss u Dom.
Good. Floor is kept clean. I don't think they change out bins after 5pm. I've been there 3 times from 5-7pm (closing), and no bins were changed in that time.
This is definitely a hidden gem in Rochester. Beware this place is not for the weak. Wear rubber gloves and be prepared for anything. You can't try anything on, but really you wouldn't want to. I have found some amazing clothing here. Good quality name brand stuff. Like I said, you just have to take the good with the bad. It's worth the price because you pay by the pound for clothing!
Such a fun way to thrift and save cool stuff from going to the dump! Its definitely not for the faint of heart as it can get a bit crazy when the new bins come out but it's a fun adventure and never know what you'll find.
Enjoy rooting through the bins. Interesting place to watch people. Great employees. Remember to bring your bags.
Nice staff.
