Goodwill Industries Outlet Store & Donation Center, Long Island City NY

So much fun. I used to come here a lot *back in the day* but it had been a while since I had visited and def haven't had a change to thrift here since covid started. If you know what the bins are, you know what you're in for. I got here at a good time, right when they were switching the bins around. I did a once over and did find some Acne jeans but I passed on em cuz they had a rip on the belt loop and just waited patiently for the new bins to come out. The employees are *really* nice here and you can tell they're having fun, but don't break the rules! I found lots of cool things (Gucci sandals, vintage Disney tshirts, Patagonia flannels, etc) and I didn't ever feel like people were getting in my space (which DOES happen at normal thrift stores a lot). I'll have to make this a spot I go to again! I missed it.

We drove 30 minutes to the donation center closes at 5: 30 we get there 5: 32 and the associate allowed us to donate. Then we see that the store closes at 6 so my husband and I were going to browse. We walked if he walked ahead of me. I was told by the security guard that the store was closed but according to website and sign outside of the door it said 6. Half of the store was completely closed off. We didn’t even stay 5 minutes. No one seemed welcoming. It was disappointing

I took bags of good clothes to this place and 2 bags od Brooks today
around 11: 45 am.well l will never donate to this place ever again, certain People there are very rude.and I think they should respect all donors not chase them away with nastiness.

I went there today at 3pm all door were locked, gates closed - even though it said it was open. When I called the number listed many times no answered. Very disappointing.

It was really scary as a beginner but this really nice employee let me know the rules and complimented my and this other employee helped me from being scammed, overall great first time.

Terrible experience. A few select group of people just throw everything in their bag and there isn't much left to grab. This has been happening for years and nothing is being done.

The fact that they now allow shoppers to see the merchandise before they can shop worsen the situation. It’s different from when I used to shop there almost every Saturday a year ago with my family. One of the employees almost hit a kid with a giant bin and tried to blame the parent. Is there even a manager there? I am reporting this place but I have to do my research to find out which state department I need to contact.

I actually had fun during my time shopping yes there’s a lot of people grabbing cloths all at once in a desperate manner and it’s annoying honestly and brings a negative energy but if you have patience and block that energy you eventually will find items. This isn’t for everybody some people might just not like the process of it time goes by quick in there and I stood for 3 rounds they change the bins often and I got a decent amount It’s a lot of clothing And obviously used clothing but I did see few items that look almost brand new I suggest giving it a try

If you've stopped visiting because of the infamous group of women who pushed, bullied and emptied every bin.you can return. The manager has made changes that ensure everyone has the opportunity to shop. Old school thrifted who remember the designer gems once found here will be sorely disappointed. The average thrifted, especially those new to the game will still find value. HOLIDAY ALERT.open xmas eve, NYE and New Year Day.

They have a big place but it's really hot inside. The fans are not helping to cool down the hotness. But i got a good deal.

The staff are friendly but the people there are very rude and thirsty for hand me downs. Its sad how they grab nd snatch from everyone else. But decent place to go. For a cheap price.

Found brand new john varvatos USA jeans for $3. I know its a hit or miss but if you have 30 minutes, always check goodwill b4 going anywhere else.

If you go here to mind what others are doing, you will surely find it. Visited here with my daughter and we came, we saw, we conquered! I saw some boots from the early 80's that made me fall over.too bad they were fit for an elf Lots of vintage shirts, pants, purses, and shoes! Leather jackets and vintage sewing material. FUGGETABOUTIT! We had fun! We will definitely return!

The most random place in the universe. You never know what you're going to find. The shoppers can be rude and down-right degenerative but go when there isn't an hourly turn and you should be fine. Cheapest place on earth. Great staff. Very friendly and attentive.
3/1/18 update: As of March there will no longer have as many housewares sold. These will only be put out from donations delivered to the outlet directly. The majority of sales are from clothing/shoes/accessories.: (

If you are boujie and can't handle getting down and dirty for cheap prices then this isn't the place for you. YES some people are little aggressive but I've found lots of great finds here, my sister found a 3 thousand dollar jacket. You do have to search for things but it's worth it:)

Location is not very clean but you do get a bargain always wash immediately you take with you.if you are a single mom or a struggling person with income this is the place for you.and be careful with all the latina's they will push and crab they will.but there is enough for everyone no need to get greedy or pushy.

This is one of those places where looks can be a tad deceiving. Pretty much everything here related to tech was rubbish. The clothes on the other hand are so unique you never know what you find from the looks of it. The best time to go here has to be on weekends, so you can avoid the swarms of old ladies.

Is not the cleanest place but if u need a quick something here and there this is ur place.and the price is on point

I just had a wonderful experience dropping off donations. Parking was easy and the person working in receiving was cheerful & friendly.
I didn't go into the store itself since my current goal is to get rid of things rather than get more.
