Gray's Papaya, New York NY

Had the recession special with the papaya drink. Hadn't ate at a Gray's Papaya in a long time. It's just how I remember it.

I gave the drink to my buddy, he said he likes it.

Nothing exceptional, compared to the positive reviews read. A simple, small hotdog. It could be better

If you love hot dogs, you need to try this place.
I'm from Toronto, Canada and we enjoy good street meat.

I ordered 2 dogs and a Papaya juice. This is called the recession combo and is roughly $4-6 total. The dogs are sized how you would imagine. I went with sauerkraut, caramelized onions and mustard. Then one with ketchup, relish and mustard. Dogs are snappy, buns are soft and warm.

The service is quick and atmosphere is classic. Places like these need to live on forever.

Very cheap hot dogs, yes, but very simple and uninteresting. The theme of tropical drinks is fine, but they don't go with dogs.

It's good for killing hunger and not being charged more than $20 to eat (as happens in almost all places in the city) but little else.

A hot dog is the kind of thing that seems like it's probably about the same across the board, can't really do it much better or worse, right? Wrong- this is a ridiculously good hot dog. I don't even know why, there's nothing special about it, but it's just so much better than any other hot dog. And super cheap too. Love it

Cheap famous place and moderately small dogs. We don't even talk about flavor anymore. It caught my attention that to give you a puppy, first there is someone who tells it to another, and that person tells it to someone else, who are the ones who give you the puppy, and then there is the one who charges you. I guess we arrived when there wouldn't be many people.two dogs with a drink for 6.45 plus tip. There is a park in front that you can go eat there.

New York claims to have the best of several food categories including the hot dog. I recently visited NY and had a dog at argueably their best venue, Grays Papaya. The dog was tasty but small and dry compared to plump and juicy. There is no "atmosphere" at Grays. Its just a little hole in the wall. The service, however, was orderly and prompt. This was definitely not the best hot dog I ever tasted.

Good dog, good fruity drink. No seating, but who really needs to sit down when suffing a small hotdog in your face.

I went looking for it, but it's not as tasty as the ones sold on the street. I think it will be better if you don't do everything on it and just eat the basics.

Definitely one of the best in New York!

The best dogs in NY, their sauces and how good they are, they turned me on and at a very good price, if you go or are there, do not hesitate to visit them, they are incredible

Standard hot dogs with a tangy sauce. Favorite tropical drinks were papaya and coconut. Would go back just for the drinks.

Stopped here before heading to Central Park. We ordered the chili cheese, ketchup/ mustard and one with onions. Our favorite was the chili cheese hot dog. The pineapple drink was also good.
There is only a small stand-up area inside and outside. When we got there there was a small line and it moved quickly.

Very fun. A line out the door but it went fast. Grilled hotdogs. Had a good snap to them. Sour crout mustard and the typical onion ketchup sauce. Walk down 2 blocks on 72 and sit and have lunch with elinore Roosevelt.
