Great Wall in Vails Gate reviews
15Decent Chinese takeout. They never seem to have a delivery person but it’s close enough to us to grab something. Food is mostly good but not stellar. Prob one of the best in the area but I’m picky since living in the city.
NOT VERY CUSTOMER FRIENDLY PEOPLE AT ALL AND WILL ALWAYS SAY THEY
ARE RIGHT OVER YOURSELF
My favorite and go to Chinese food place. They have the best wonton soup in the area. I always fiddle around with my order, changing things around, and they are very accommodating. I usually get some kind of meal and they always come with pork fried rice, they are nice enough to sub mine for chicken fried rice without vegetables. Since I moved to this part of orange county, this has been my Chinese food place. I'm not sure if they are associated with the great wall restaurant in central valley but they're also really good. My only issue is sometimes the sweet and sour chicken is a lil too crispy for me and the boneless spareribs can be on the fatty side; it's not all the time and I pick those parts off if need be. No place is perfect all the time. This is the best Chinese food in the area in my opinion. They are fast, efficient, and everything is always piping hot even after getting home with the food. IDK what's in those containers but that food will stay hot for an hour on the counter.
My only complaint isn't really a complaint at all, lol. I love their soup noodles and always get an extra bag; make the bags of noodles bigger, lol!
The lady taking my order was absolutely disgusting. This is the second bad experience with them. I tried a second time because everyone is entitled to a bad day but now I see this is how they conduct their business. Will never support this nasty behavior then when I went a second time they had good on the floor completely open with no covering. I called to speak with a manager and they were absolutely nasty. Technically everyone should have a face covering not one person provided any proper health regulations.
So I normally don't leave bad reviews but I feel like I have to today. For work I was in the area of this restaurant in New Windsor and wanted to get something to eat. I decided on Chinese, so I ordered the pepper steak dinner special. Once again I don't leave bad reviews but I feel like it's well deserved. The pepper steak looks like it wasn't cooked all the way and the rice looked and felt over cooked. Couldn't even finish it. What a waste of money. I'm sorry but I will not be going there again. I hope this helps the next person
The menu and service were beyond my expectations. We surely liked the environment of this spot. Wonderful place to take my family out for lunch.
Would stay away from this place. Beef dishes all tasted extremely chewy, a sign of low quality meat used in prep. My family all had stomach pain after eating their dishes.
The chicken wings are exquisite. Mondays the place is closed. Odd but is okay, there is plenty parking and they take credit cards. I am not giving it 5 stars just because they are a bit too pricey but the good is good
Been in the area for over a year, its the best Chinese around. Friendly and coherent person on the phone, fast delivery. The fried rice and all vegetables were clearly freshly made in house. Quality white meat chicken. Competitively priced. All around enjoyably.
Honestly on my search for the best tasting Chinese food in New Windsor, I can give this one to Great Wall hands down. Not only they accommodate my allergies, but the food is consistently good.
This. Is. The. Joint. For Chinese. Great food. Fast. Good prices. Worth the drive over storm king from west point
I ordered the house special soup. It was loaded with chicken pork and shrimp. It was delicious.
Excellent food! We had dumplings, sesame chicken and sweet & sour chicken.
Food was on time and service was great.
The employees should listen to the customers. Upon ordering here and being my first time to review this restaurant I wasn't impressed. I asked the woman behind the counter to let me have my soup first. Okay my soup comes and then my entree. I love to enjoy my soup and not rush. Anyway don't ever order their lobster sauce because I don't know what other Chinese restaurant goes pepper happy. Plus the time I ate it was cold because I was still eating the soup. This one is totally off my bucket list now
