Horrible vet they did a surgery on my friends frenchie and didn’t even communicate the after steps care and wouldn’t answer the phone Frenchie ended up passing away the day after the surgery

I just finished watching a heartfelt video that is being noticed everywhere for awareness. DONT BRING YOUR DOG HERE! EVER! JUSTICE FOR STITCH! They gave her Frenchie a surgery and told her all went “great” and ended up giving a major complication to the dog that took the dogs life days after the surgery. Which would have been prevented by 1. Simply doing your job correct or 2. Notifying the dog mom and telling her their was a complication and get it figured out stat. Animals can’t talk nor tell us what’s wrong so we put so much trust in our vets and the people we choose to watch over and take care of them. Then to top it off the doctor prescribed an rx that was non existent and proceeded to only contact the poor girl only via email! Like what? ! There’s doctors who love their patients and go the extra mile and then there’s some who do if it for a check. This one does it for a check and it’s pathetic and heartbreaking and sad that now a poor Frenchie has lost their life due to lack of professionalism and empathy of “doctors”

Please please save yourself and your pet and do not go here! I started going because it is a block from my apartment but the convenience is not worth the total incompetence. These terrible vets left stitches in my dog that got infected, they gave my dog the wrong medicine and the final straw was them failing to give her a vaccine even though I asked for it. Each and every time they blame their mistakes on the clients.

I don’t know a single person in the neighborhood that has had a terrible experience with their dog and this clinic.

Dr. Sane and everyone at the Hospital took great care of my very nervous and sensitive dog Guinness for 14 years. We recently had to decide to put him down due to lymphoma which is terminal. Dr. Miller and Steve were with us and had so much compassion that sad day and every day. My husband and I have been so grateful to the staff. Guinness was very comfortable with everyone. I cannot thank them enough.

Overcharged me twice and did not inform me of some fee until I finished the visit. Very unprofessional and shady. The customer service cannot compete with other animal hospitals in this area. The staff is not as welcoming and they don’t have a lobby and just let you stand outside. I don’t recommend.

I love this vet! I have a cat and they have been such wonderful partners. I always have a wonderful experience and trust them which is so important. Would highly recommend

They take care of your animals as if they were their own. From the front desk to the techs, and especially the vets, they are top shelf in every area and we totally trust them with our babies! They are real animal lovers!

The staff at the hospital is simply wonderful and 100% worth travel or any other thing getting in your way of using this clinic. They're super responsive to email-both their techs and their vets-which gives a whole new level of care.

My only caution is if you're trying to keep costs down. Vaccination costs are pretty average ($45-85), but to test something can get expensive (for example, to test a cyst on a dog in case it's a tumor is about $325).

If it's not a problem for you, they're well worth it.

GVAH is my family's go-to veterinary practice. After several years living outside NYC, we were excited to be back under the care of Dr. Sane. He is kind, knowledgable, professional, and takes a sincere interest in the health and welfare of our kids. The staff is compassionate and responsive. We have always been able to get appointments in a timely manner which is very much appreciated.

We've been taking our Portuguese Water Dog, Riptide, here for over 8 years. GVAH has always been able to accommodate our schedule even in emergency situations. Dr. Sane is a compassionate, highly skilled vet and the whole team is top-notch and very professional. Their knowledge, willingness and ability to assess and address issues really is exceptional. Highly recommended!

Dr. Sane saved my cat Velcro's life years ago! After being misdiagnosed by a vet who only treats cats, Dr. Sane not only made the diagnosis but cured him and he lived many more years with total quality of life. He's compassionate and a great surgeon as well. The entire staff is wonderful, and I'm confident the 2 cats I currently have are being very well cared for.

WE LOVE Dr. Sane and the whole team at GVAH. We have been going to them with all of our dogs for the past 20 years. They are the BEST vet in the neighborhood. So caring and treat our fur family like their own.

We brought in our puppy who was sick with a stomach bug. After a good talk with the vet, he suggested it could be beneficial to give our little guy a probiotic for the next 30-60 days in addition to an antibiotic and Imodium-like equivalent that he prescribed.

The probiotic was marked up by over 100% to the prices shown on Amazon for the same exact medication, that could have been delivered within 24 hours (not to mention there’s nothing urgent about starting a probiotic).

Everyone has a right to make money (especially the businesses that are paying for a storefront in the West Village), but an egregious markup like that when the DVM could have suggested alternatives is both unprofessional and offensive.

2021 Update: Every word I wrote 3 years ago remains true. From Dr. Shea (who is no longer there) to Dr. Miller, and all of the nurses and support staff, everyone has been wonderful. Our 15-year-old kitty agrees!

We have been going to the Greenwich Village Animal Hospital for several years now for our cat. They are amazing. Professional, kind and thorough. It's so reassuring to know that we're in good hands and our cat is being taking care of well.

I tried 3 different vets near my neighborhood in Brooklyn, before following the recommendation of a friend and going to visit Dr. Sane and Greenwich Village Animal Hospital. All of the staff are excellent and provide the best attention and care to client and pets. I have never once had a negative experience. Would definitely and highly recommend GVAH. I gladly travel the 30+ minutes into the city because of the peace of mind knowing my pet is in the best of hands.

For the last decade, I've taken all of my animals from kitten/puppyhood through adult to Dr. Sane & the staff at GVAH. They're kind, caring, gentle, and responsive to both pet and owner needs.
