7Ridiculously expensive. A little black produce tray with about 8 pieces of raw cauliflower was $6.99. Avoid if possible
One must fight amongst the elder guards for the early bird special, even when one is there for single stalk of broccoli, priced as if it was cooked.
Managment is great everyone is friendly and are quick to help the customers, we may have Customers who are very pleasant and others who was not people friendly. However Gristedes aims to please and keep their Customers happy at all times.
Two words: horrible and expensive.more expe6than Fairway or even Whole Foods. 3.99 for an avocado at Gristedes.under $2 at other stores. A rip off!
This Gristedes is one of the worst. Overpriced and not fresh foods. I’ve been waiting for the chain to close but the 10% senior discount seems to keep them around.
Within the slimmest selection of veggies, they all looked old and mushy. Pantry products are at least 20% more expensive than any other store around ($18.99 for Hazelnut Flour.) And to finish it off, ice cream has obviously not been handled properly (thawed then refrozen). Never again.
Edit: picture is upon opening, straight from the store (5 minute after checkout). This is a new product that has to has spent less than a week on the shelf BTW.
A throwback type of store trying to do its best. The staff is friendly. The layout is a bit confusing. Management is helpful. Don't mind going there for fill-ins.
