Extremely rude bouncer and waitress. Had such a bad attitude, will spread the word to never let anyone go there, horrible service.

My band had a great time playing The Groove in NYC. People were so nice, amazing vibes and good food and drinks. Cant go wrong here.

Very disappointed in the way I was treated.had a reservation for 2. Told them now it’s only 1. Establishment said they cannot seat me because I am a single. If I am a paying customer, not clear on why I couldn’t have a seat…. I will. NEVER support any business where I am miss treated.

I used to go here for many a time on dates or for Mother’s Day weekend or to listen to varying bands. I would consider coming back for sure. The live music is always the main attraction. The space is small so get tickets early! Close proximity to NYU so very student friendly weekend option

We were a group of four. While the music and atmosphere was great, one of the waitresses started harassing us to order some drinks within 30 seconds of us entering the establishment. We were already thinking about ordering drinks and she was just standing there putting pressure on us uncomfortably. She was very rude and this is not the way to treat customers. We decided to leave and on our way out she made some rude comments including “go away, nothing in this world is free”

- live music no cover (when I went)
Bad:
- very poor drink selection
- 20% tip forced added to ur bill regardless of what you order/ your party’s size

Lame place for turists) ? They charge you 20% tip on EVERY drink even you dont consent to it. They throw your change back with really bad attitude and looks.also WORST negroni i ever had in my life for 25 dollars hahaha

The food turned my stomach upside down. I had the BBQ wings and Calamari. The drinks were on the weaker side to me, I had the groove colada. The music was alright.

Absolutely amazing.someone took me here Christmas day 22' & omg I loved it, the vibes and the live band Black Soul wow, I can't wait to see them perform again! It's a 2 item min for a table and as crowded as it was we still got a table.the food was pretty good

Great live band. They had great chemistry and vocals. The food was delicious and the drinks were strong. The staff was friendly too.

The evening was great, up until we were asked force-ably to pay a 30% gratuity on a $175 bill for service that was mediocre. We paid $5.00 tip for a waiter we had for all of 20 mins and were expected to give more and told by whomever we needed to pay more.
Customers should not be forced to pay tips on staff that establishment CHOSE to pay poorly!
You do better! Do not force your customers to pay for your staffs worth.

Came here to see The Black Soul Experience and they were amazing! Definitely recommend going if you love live music. The bar was great. The burger and fries were delicious. The drinks were great.

Husband and I had an amazing time at the Groove Thursday night. Loved the live music. The atmosphere was lively and fun, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The drinks were great and reasonably priced, and the music was excellent. I would highly recommend this bar to anyone looking for a great night out!

Nice place but they pack you in like rats. The music was awesome and the location is perfectly situated but we only stayed a few minutes due to the overcrowding and congestion that made it impossible for my wife and I to get comfortable. We were literally at the door and couldn't move.

AMAZING! We didn’t plan on going to groove we actually we going to comedy cellar but we had some time to spare and we walked by and heard the band playing and when I tell you it literally stopped us in our tracks, they were unbelievable! 1 drink min per person isn’t too bad drinks are about 9-14$
