Guitar Center, Manhattan NY

The store itself is fine but every time I walk in here I encounter the same man with the same bitter and unhelpful demeanor. His name escapes me but he’s a shorter gentleman with black hair. One example could be when I asked him for assistance with a dusenberg guitar to which he promptly cut off my sentence talking about the guitars price. Now you
can politely tell me I’m not able to play a guitar at the moment that’s fine but at least have the common decency to let me speak.

Called 3 times to get info about renting a PA system.they never pick up the phone or when they do, they make you wait for hours.musicians they might be, salespeople they're not.

The most happening musical instrument store I have been to. If you have even slightest interest about music and playing instruments is your hobby, this is just the place for you.

There are separate sections for genre wise instruments - Electric guitar, Acoustic guitar, Keyboard, Drums, DJ decks etc.

You get to play your desired instruments as much as you want and then pick the best one for you. Found my ukulele at the store and the quality of the device was perfect!

Unfortunately service really impacts any positive customer experience at this Guitar Center. I have 2 examples that have occurred in the last month and am surprised given all the previous replies in the reviews from Guitar Center about how important customer service is / how they will prioritize this - despite nothing being changed. You guys really need to get your act together as most musicians in the city rely on you.

I had a rental order scheduled for over a month and the week leading up to my pick up, I tried to call Guitar Center given I was never provided with an email confirmation of my rental reservation and wanted to make sure they had everything correct. I kid you not, FOUR times I called, a guy would pick up, transfer me to rentals, the phone would be on hold for 10 minutes and disconnect me. I complained by the final time and nothing was done so I gave up trying to confirm. To make matters worse, when I arrived to pick up my rental, the guy at the front of the store called a sales associate over and no one arrived. We waited 10 minutes, he did this again…no one arrived. THREE times this happened until I started stressed the urgency of needing to pick up the rental for our soundcheck - we were waiting 30 minutes when we had a reservation already scheduled. There was a total lack of organization and care in the way this was handled.

Additionally, I tried coming by the store to pick up a headphone chord and waited for a while to get help. The sales associate pointed into the general direction of the cables and said it was over there. I went over to where he said and the item that I was looking for was not there. I went back to the register and he disappeared in the back for 10 mins. He comes back and I say I can’t find it - he begrudgingly goes over to the cables and says “it’s this one. ” I say - “can we check on my headphone model over there to make sure it’s correct? ” He goes “no sorry, we can’t check” and I go “what if it’s wrong? ”. Begrudgingly again, he agrees to go over to the headphones and goes “oh it’s not the right one…. ” And the proceeds to walk away from me muttering “check Best Buy it’s the 3.5 oh wait the 2.5 cable. ” I was literally speechless - it’s this guy’s job to help customers and his apathy was off the charts.

I’m predicting I’m going to get a general reply about how customer service is important and how you’re going to fix this but your team really needs to prioritize employee accountability and empower individuals to attend to customer’s needs and emotions in store and over the phone. There’s a massive gap here in your service experience. Hopefully the next time I need help there isn’t a repeat of this mess.

The guitar center at 14th street is a good place to buy your instrument of choice or if you are giving a gift to a family member as the staff can help you if you are a beginner or unfamiliar with the instrument.nice selection of items from across the musical spectrum.its a nice place

I loved just walking in and smelling the fresh, sweet scent that comes from the new guitars and equipment. If you want to have an instrument repaired, they can help you. Want a bass? They got it. What about acoustic? Hell yeah. Electric? WHO ARE YOU KIDDING THEY HAVE A WHOLE WALL! Drums, keyboards, pianos, stream gear, producing gear. They have it all. If it makes a sound, they got it. The aesthetic of the store was super cool, too. Each room had its own vibe and look based on the instrument that was in it. Staff was so nice and one of them started riffing on a guitar I was considering buying! I would totally recommend coming here, even if you aren't in the mood to buy an instrument. COME HERE TRUST ME YOU WILL LOVE IT!

Dropped by with my son that wanted to test out a Positive Grid Spark Amp for his electric guitar. Met a nice guy that picked it up from the back and installed it so that my son could test drive it. Very much appreciated. Will add this store to the must buy list)

Had to ran like a dog behind the acoustic consultant to get a few poor answers. After he took the guitar from my hand, played for himself, gave it back and just went away. It was funny. Place so cool, can’t put less than 3, but has some work to do about customer service

I would like to go out my way to commend Ruben for his professionalism in rectifying a negative situation.

If a manager is reading this review, definitely recognize and reward Ruben as a special worker. He is doing noticably more than required or expected.

Purchased and Backed up LOCAL

I brought my guitar in yesterday for a full set up. The guitar tech who helped me, and who is, I assume, the one setting up my guitar, was extremely knowledgeable, and explained to me in great detail the difference options I had to choose from, set-up-wise. It was also the first time that I was told my guitar would be probably ready the next day to pick up! I'll leave another review and let you guys know how the setup is! Customer service in the 14th Street store has been so far

I have been visiting these stores from Orlando, Florida. And so far the best of all is in Nashville.
In general, all great, variety in all their instruments, good service in all their stores.

I guess it's the best Guitar Center in US
shop was clean and well organized. You can play any instruments you want. Staffs are very kind and sure they are pros.
Hats off to Nico. He is the best staff in there.

Went there to restring my violin, Matthew at the repair center was helpful and also explained how to replace the strings so that in the future I might be able to do it myself.he was efficient as well as informative.would shop at this location again. Thanks a Bunch!

Place 10/10 a huge variety of guitars, I don't know much about instruments but I used to hang out with relatives who do and they are delighted, you can try the one you want, be it guitar, drums, pianos, keyboards, there are accessories, spare parts. From everything, I would say absolutely everything

Great place you will find any guitar you are looking for. They have a piano set and drum more and more
