Gus's Franklin Park Restaurant reviews
14Been going here a long time and was a big fan until last night. 6 people we ordered steamers which smelled off, complained and then they still appeared on our check. In addition the Gorgonzola salad, long a family favorite, was tasteless. Finally it took an extra half hour for them to take the clams off the bill and issue a new check. Very disappointing.
Great seafood restaurant, fish, and shellfish. Gus' has been around for years, quality always consistent. They have land animals too, but I've always gone for the sea creatures.
Have been going here for years. The food and service is terrific. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. You can actually have a good conversation with your dinner Pals and hear every word they're saying. But on the weekend remember to make a reservation if you want to a booth. You will not be disappointed eating at Gus's.
Charming restaurant kinda old French brasserie. Beets were delicious and staff attentive and kind.
We keep coming back cause the food is so yummy. Children orders the chicken parm every time and I love those fried whole bellies clams!
Mussels was under seasoned, fries was soggy and oily.waiter is attentive.the girls are on top of you.ready to remove the dishes while you are still eating.
A decidedly non pretentious, local, neighborhood feel. Our servers were great personalities and incredibly helpful. Lots of daily specials and off-menu details. Ask for advice on how they recommend the various fish/seafood to be prepared.
The place to go for decades for good feeling and good food… Terrific salad, lobster rolls, everything.
What a delightful night out. The food is well prepared and the service is friendly.
The staff is quick to clear the table of used dishes (which I appreciate). I'm looking forward to my next meal here.
They're very particular about from where the food is sourced which makes for a very satisfying meal. This restaurant is now on my rotation of places to dine out. I love to cook so dining out is a special night. We had an appetizer with a drink, dinner with a glass of wine, and instead of a dessert we opted for a cocktail.
This is a can’t miss. The service, the freshness of the seafood and just an all around original in the area.
Dining out, I've never felt more like I was going to dinner at mom's/grandma's (where they have a stocked cupboard/fridge and are a pretty good cook).
When we arrived early Friday evening, the place was almost empty, but almost every table was reserved. While we were there, the tables started to fill up, so reservations are recommended.
They're menu had a large variety of options for such a small place. The staff was friendly and attentive, with a family run business feel. I felt slightly rushed, but it may have been unintentional.
There was a modesty served with care. The best example was the bread. It was a Kaiser roll with a cheap plastic container of butter. But the bread was warmed up and the butter was pre-sliced.
The food was good. The portions were decent.
I look forward to returning and trying more of their menu.
I was expecting great meal but I’m disappointed with the food. Shrimp appetizer good but greasy, mashed potatoes watery with strange sour taste, fish was ok, steak delicious, brownie tasted like from the box. Generally after that experience I won’t come back unless it will have steak
Get the salad with Gorgonzola cheese. Simply the best " house salad" I've had. Seafood always fresh and tasty.
Calamari and oyster appetizers were soggy, pasty. No seasoning on seafood, overcooked, awful presentation. Party of 4 received two rolls. Waiter upset a water glass, but didn't properly dry. Service is an afterthought, they don't clear plates. Formerly, excellent, a Sunday night was the worst food served in a restaurant. Find another place.
