16Great space, this was a video presentation of Destination Cosmos. There is limited seating, so most people sat on the floor. In addition to the main gallery, you can see the exhibit in the old vault in addition to a full basement space.
Went there with wife and baby, it was very enjoyable for everyone and we plan on going back soon with new exhibit. Highly recommend
Barely mentioned other space programs, Yuri gagarovich didn't come up once, and the video kind of manufactured consent for billionaires to move to space and leave humanity behind.
IMPORTANT: the bathroom is downstairs. Walk down the set of stairs separated by a banister in the middle, go through the doors, you will be able to reenter, continue downstairs and once you enter the next immersive room with all the projectors and whatnot, immediately turn left 90°, you will see a projection on the wall that says bathrooms, walk towards that and they will be on your left. Non-existent godspeed
Be aware that this is a two room exhibition and should take somewhere between 1-1.5 hours. I went to both Gold in Motion & Destination Cosmos. Gold in Motion is absolutely beautiful - if you're into art. Destination Cosmos is definitely more informative. Both are stunning exhibitions and worth the visit. The staff are all super friendly, too.
Great art. If only I could see any of it. When the place gets crowded it becomes impossible to see what you're supposed to be looking at. Not worth it.
It took a moment, but you can't help but be sucked in with all the visuals going on. It was an amazing experience.
Viewed Destination Cosmos! The basement is better to watch, it is informative & we loved the music played along with the show. I plan to return to see Gold in motion. Lastly, The “selfie room” has a Photo Booth, which truly isn’t worth it.
The space was amazing but I was let down by the content of the exhibition. Once the visual effects layer is clear, there wasn’t much narrative or anything interesting about the Cosmos content. Missed opportunity, but still glad I went.
Another one of those scam pop up projectors places. Over priced, underwhelming, and incredibly low effort. It’s insane to me that they charge $30+ to experience this joke of an exhibition. Keep your money
Alright. Pretty mediocre experience but luckily not too expensive (at least for NYC standards!). Went for the space cosmos exhibition.
There's not much to see other than the projections around the room and the occasional text description of what the exhibit is showing.
Might not be for you if you're looking for a traditional museum experience or if you're looking for a particularly unique one.
But, might be fun if your just looking for somewhere to relax and enjoy the atmosphere (there are beanbags for you to lay down on and seats).
Second time seeing this Gustav Klimt Immersive in NYC. It is mind-trippy, especially if you've never experienced an Immersive. The sound and music made it even better. Love, and highly recommend. Not expensive, either!
Very nice venue and the display utilized the structural elements of the venue impressively. Good number of seats for those that are not keen on standing or sitting on the floor. The adjacent halls usage of the space could have been more immersive.
Tolle Installation!
This is an amazing experience located in downtown Manhattan
We enjoyed a special show called Destination Cosmos that was simply amazing. We felt as if we were walking in the moon ourselves.
Overwhelming!
We went to this for the exhibition Destination Cosmos. We booked our tickets when we arrived, taking advantage of their student discount which is nice. They've also got free lockers so we didn't have to takr in our shopping bags which was such a pleasant suprise (so used to having to pay for bag checks). The presentation was great fron the music to the art production. Highly recommend checking out the mirror room which was our favorite in the exhibition.
