Hamido Seafood reviews
17Although you will be spending quite some time waiting to be seated and then waiting for your order, (on a bustling Saturday night) the friendly faces of the hostess and waiters, the eclectic energy of the establishment and the deliciousness of the food will make it worth it. The stuffed sengari oven baked with shrimp and calamari was insaaane! With rice and garlic eggplants as a side 10/10 would recommend and wait another hr for more!
We came in on a Friday night and it was super packed so we had to wait about 45 mins for a table. But it was well worth the wait! The specialty branzino fish was a stand out as well as the Greek salad and tahini dip. Would definitely recommend visiting and we’ll be back soon.
The food is amazing I mean flavor is out of this world. Rest assured this is NOT your run of the mill grilled fried steam seafood spot. I will return. It was so good I forgot to take pictures lol. But it's not a lot of seating so large parties I would call before coming
The food was great. I will definitely be back to try some more items on the menu. The owner was cool too
The food is fresh and delicious. Staff are friendly. The only thing I wish they make the place bigger. But however it’s worth await.
There are some reviews about the service here, and I've been here around 10 times, and while the service is good most of the time, the last visit was a surprise - and not in a good way. We had to ask for glasses after waiting for at least 10 minutes after they had given us a pitcher of water; and as we were leaving, the waitress didn't even wait until we took all of our things off the table before she started folding the paper "cloth" on the table. I'd understand this if it was busy (and it does get busy sometimes) ; but the restaurant was 1/3 empty at the time - lady, relax.
Despite the inconsistent service at times, the food is always amazing, so props to the back of the house! The scallops are the best in the city, and the octopus and calamari (grilled or fried) never disappoint.
The food is really delicious here. I loved everything except that the place is really cramped so you have to wait a little longer. The food is worth it tho.
Saw on TikTok it was a must try, we are from Bermuda and we are glad we did. Everything was seasoned and fresh! Thank you TikTok!
Arrived at 6pm on a Saturday. Line was out the door. Placed our order (branzino, calamari, fried shrimp, jumbo shrimp) at 6: 50pm. Seated by 7: 40pm. Ordered a side of baba ghanoush and fries for the table. Food came out around 8pm. At this point we were frustrated with the wait and the seemingly arbitrary system of seating patrons. The food, in our opinion, was not worth the wait. Mildly seasoned and nothing out of the ordinary. We did not finish our meal and left at 8: 20pm.
Incredible seafood! If you want an authentic Egyptian experience you need to pay this place a visit! This place will take you to the depth of Alexandria and will follow that up by taking you on a pescatarian culinary experience like no other. Make sure to order the lobster tail and some grilled shrimp, also make sure you try the lemon mint and their selection of sides. Be patient cause the food is made fresh to order so it takes a while but it’s worth it
Great food and the staff was awesome. Its not a great dining space. I think the food selection option and quality of food was 4.5 stars. Pretty much everything we ate we loked. But the dining atmosphere is similar to dining at one of those cheap places on city island. If they upgrade their dining area then this will be a gem!
The food was soooo good. I recommend not going hungry because the wait is about 2 hours because it was packed. The service was good and I think it's a family restaurant because of how well everyone worked together. I will return with coworkers next time and try the lunch special
I can honestly say 5 stars isnt enough. I've never had food prepared so fresh, so flavorful, so delicious. Hamido took my tasebuds to another planet. The man behind the bar that took our fish order was so pleasant, and the servers were so nice. All I can say is We Will Be Back!
Alexandrian seafood in Queens NY! Place is buzzing midweek, tables turning nonstop, exceptional food and service! Fresh from the Mediterranean seafood, branzino, dorade, barbounia, and all the other seafood cooked to perfection as in Alexandria Egypt. Mohamed the chef is so welcoming and caring, just from Alexandria. Will be back for sure!
The food was out of the world a great way to represent Egyptian seafood cuisine it was amazing and will definitely come back. I’m only giving it 4 stars because the man who handles the orders in the front kept ignoring my request of a certain fish and tried to sell me the other and he was rude with the way he approached us and didn’t answer our questions and shut us out. However the rest of the staff was incredibly sweet and friendly
Absolutely amazing best seafood in town! I have you recommend the jumbo shrimp and their lobster tail
So so good and super fresh! I've never gone and disliked anything I've gotten, but my go to is the shrimp and fries:) highly recommend for those seeking good fresh seafood options, seasoned well and prepared for you on the spot!
