Hampton Inn Manhattan/Times Square Central reviews
19To be honest Times Square is very overrated so this hotel is similarly overrated too. It is crowded, noisy and overpriced. Only good thing is it is close to a lot of tourist places due to its central location on Manhattan. But its vicinity to the Times Square pretty much ruins lots of thing, the traffic is constant blocking and stopping in front of the hotel due to the chaos that is constantly going on at the Times Square. Would live somewhere else on Manhattan if I knew these. Stayed at Fairfield near Penn Station after returning from Washington DC, much better and still central location.
There is one star for the employees who work IN FRONT of the reception. Manny and Victor were very friendly and very polite.
The team at reception is typing around on the PC and is happy to keep you waiting. Even a friendly smile would be too much to expect.
The second star is for the bathroom. It's small but well maintained and relatively new.
The room, however, is very small. Despite Hilton Honors status, there was no upgrade.
There are only 3 elevators for +30 floors. Because the elevators are also used by staff, utilization is very high. In the morning you may have to wait a long time and not be able to get in because the elevator is already full.
The breakfast room is very small. Very long waiting time if you want to sit down. The selection cannot be compared to a European breakfast and is also not tasty.
Since we had booked there for several days, we were told that we had to request room cleaning 24 hours in advance. That doesn't mean (according to the receptionist) "I would like a cleaned room today". But rather “can I please have my room cleaned tomorrow”. When I heard that, I said I didn't want to do it every day. Therefore, please enter it in the same way for all following days. After a sigh and an eye roll, the person wrote it down.
Not Hilton level.
Great Hotel in Heart of Times Sq. Friendly efficient staff who go out of their way to make you feel at home. Will Def book again.
This year we came to New York for a week and stayed at this hotel.
The truth is that it is very well positioned, and also the services they offer are great. For example, they give you breakfast there and you don't have to go anywhere, the hotel has 31 floors, which are accessed by the elevator, which goes up to all floors very quickly, we were surprised, because it said it was a three star hotel but in truth the rooms are very well maintained and clean. In short, I recommend it one hundred percent.
The room suited my daughter well (2 adults and 2 children).
As for the service, the rooms are not cleaned every day, but every 4 days. You can request a palliative measure (removal of rubbish, making beds and changing towels if necessary). I did not like that.
The breakfast space is small, which ends up, at times, becoming chaos. They have few food options and it is very repetitive, but this is quite common in the United States.
Top hotel. Well located in Times Square but quite quiet. The service and staff at the top. Own. Great value for money for New York time square
Beautiful hotel, the hotel staff is very kind and the waiters in the breakfast room are very polite and nice, I had a good stay with you! The room is very nice and has comfortable beds
Greetings from mariovalerio
Location location location.
Couldn't pick a better value hotel for Broadway shows.
30 second walk to the subway, 2-3 minutes to time square.
Safe, comfortable location, staff are friendly and help.
Rooms are KIND of small, but the hotel it's self is. City view is nice, I'd recommend it for a $20-30 difference.
Elevators are slow, but that's to be expected.
Overall, I can't see why I won't stay here again.
At the very least, I think it's better to stop Japanese people. I requested to clean the room, but there was no cleaning even though it was tomorrow. No greetings or smiles from the staff (except for the young bell boy)
Not enough elevators. You can take the stairs or you can wait 30 minutes for a ride. Your pick. Also, when we were leaving we had the concierge reserve a car to take us to the airport. When we returned to the hotel to meet the car (the reservation was for 3: 30. We got back to the hotel at 3: 15 and waited until 3: 30) there was no car and the front desk did not know anything about our reservation. Since they obviously forgot to reserve the car for us, we left and had to take the train back to the airport instead.
Shout out to Quenasha for welcoming us so warmly and going the extra step to ensure my friend and I had rooms on the same floor close to each other. Thank you.
Very good location and access to the train, the rooms are basic but very clean and organized, breakfast was delicious and the service was excellent from the reception to the kitchen staff (specially Jorge and another lady who I can’t remember her name) they were very welcoming and friendly. The check in/out process was easy and quick. Overall I would come back. Highly recommended
You're paying for the location. If you're not afraid to take the subway then you're in great luck bc there's a few lines right there amd you can hop on and off time square/42nd. The rooms were decent. The thermostat actually worked. TV and room amenities are a little out dated (but that's just New York hotels). You'll hear noises outside for a few hours roughly 4am bc they pick up trash around that time too (its not horrible). The elevators are pain esp during peak hours (but again, this is typical of New York hotels). You may have to take the stairs or wait for the next one. They do offer a breakfast here which isn't bad, super simple and quick. The gym is downstairs but just a couple of basically treadmill and a rack of weights. Housekeeping has to be asked for. If you need a fridge. Be sure to ask for one upon check in. I didnt have any issues but you really can't beat the location if you wanting to be in the middle of it all.
It was ok. For the price… I certainly expected a lot more. There are many other Hamptons in Manhattan. I would seriously recommend one of those instead.
Location is great and the front desk team was so nice and helpful with everything! Beds aren’t super comfy, and breakfast was wiped out and not refilled when we went down, but the rates were great and so was the service.
Great location on Times Square, with easy access to food, shopping and entertainment! The hotel was clean and staff was attentive to requests. The room was small, but it did not impact our enjoyment.
The location is great and included breakfast. However elevator was awful. It's very tiny elevator and even one of them was broken.
It took 10min every single time. If you want to stay you should take under 3F.
Very good value for money, with an excellent location.spacious and clean rooms.if anything the worst thing is that the dining area for breakfast is small but it is what it is.and the coffee, well we are in the USA.the normal
Very near most main places in times square and the street it is on is not too busy usually. Clean rooms, friendly staff, overall 10/10
