Hampton Inn Manhattan-35th St/Empire State Bldg reviews
16 Very bad!
I definitely DO NOT recommend it.
They sell you what is NOT.
My husband and I came to celebrate my birthday and we were very excited to enjoy our short stay here. But it was NOT like that.
The bedroom is horribly small. It doesn't have space, there isn't a closet with good space. There is no tub in the bathrooms.
My husband and I were totally disappointed and upset because it is very expensive and the price is NOT worth it for what they offered us, being a 4-star hotel.
We didn't mind paying almost $1000 USD for 2 nights, because we wanted a nice, centrally located hotel in Manhattan and WE DIDN'T HAVE IT here.
The location was the only good thing we got.
Really a top hotel. We were there for a week and were more than thrilled. Clean room and bathroom. Daily cleaning and the breakfast was also very good. The location of the hotel is really perfect, very central and 1 minute from a subway station. Despite the great central location, you don't hear any noise in the rooms and you can sleep well. The staff is super nice and very helpful if you have any questions.
Very good, courteous staff, we had problems with the credit card, but it was the fault of the bank and not the Hotel,
Great location in Manhattan. The room was definitely worth the money. Very helpful and friendly personnel.
The room was a bit small, but it was close to Times Square, so it was great for a trip to Manhattan, New York. But the elevator is too slow.
I can't express enough how amazing the staff are here. I traveled for work - needed government rate, tax exempt, and using a company card without my name on it.a lot of hoops to jump through for a hotel - and staff were attentive, patient, and so incredibly helpful months before my stay. Once I arrived staff did not disappoint, every single staff person from front desk, maintenance, to those lovely staff in housing that kept my room impeccably clean for the 4 days I was there were fantastic, and always meeting every guest with a smile. The front desk crew were awesome in helping me feel comfortable navigating the city via subway - didn't get lost once! Speaking of subway - the 34 herald square subway entrance was steps away from the hotel entrance and made it so easy to get uptown and downtown. Hotel is walking distance from Herald Square and Macy's - and my Empire State Building view king room had a great unobstructed view of ESB, and the lights were so incredible to see change each night. Room was good size, bed was comfortable, water great in the shower nice and hot and great water pressure. Good counter space for working surfaces, and fridge worked great once the temp turned down. No complaints - great stay.
Great location, dirty, noisy and cramped rooms.
Breakfast is ok, but it's hard to find a table to sit at. Long waiting time for elevators in the morning (even 20-30 minutes)
The location was amazing! The size of the room was surprisingly big- which is very nice to have in Manhattan.
The room it self is old- and have some things that need to be fixed/changed.
The breakfast was a bit disappointing.
The stuff was nice and very helpful! Thank you.
Great location of the hotel in the proximity of public and private transport of subway, and taxis.
Excellent rooms and very professional staff with attitude to welcome guests and make their stay enjoyable.
Thank you
Excellent hotel in relation to quality price
Very good breakfast buffet
In the afternoon they serve cookies and popcorn for the children
I loved the location
After booking we were informed that extensive maintenance work would be carried out on the elevators during our stay and therefore there would be longer waiting times.
We were offered a free cancellation.
When I tried to accept it, no one was able to cancel it.
Nowadays no one reports anymore.
Service is ZERO, never again!

I recommend this hotel, for its location, services, rooms, staff and excellent value for money.
Do your self a favor and don’t go to this hotel. Although the great location, the hotel is *very* dirty, the room is too small with a lot of hairs on the floor and in bed (see pictures below).
Great hotel with a very good breakfast. Excellent and pleasant staff. I really recommend this hotel
Good location, excellent room. Friendly service, but very uncomfortable dining room, poor quality breakfasts and very small space.
Hotel that is not at all worth its 4 stars or its price (€2400 per week), not at all upscale
The room is OK and the location is very good.
But the breakfast was bad, we had it once and then we had lunch outside. No bread, little choice, industrial fruit juice, overly sweet cereals, apples wrapped in plastic. Why use cardboard/plastic cutlery and not tableware? Unacceptable! The quantities of trash thrown away are not tolerable in 2023.
