Hampton Inn & Suites Staten Island reviews
19Not a good idea! This place is not what a Hampton usually is all about Beds were old and squeaky, The air quality in the room smelled like a foot locker. The lights and air are on a motion sensor that shuts them off while you work at the desk or when you are sleeping, one will wake up all icky. The staff are amazing from the kitchen and some of the day staff I met were amazing. There are a few non workers just like everywhere these days. The vents had huge dust balls like they were not cleaned for ever.
The location was perfect, close to everything! The rooms were clean, comfortable and the service was great! We will definitely stay there again when we visit S. I.
I don't believe it's ethical for a hotel to require an interest-free loan from its guests. Charging a $35 daily "incidentals" fee is really just an interest-free loan. The hotel has no restaurant or bar. What "incidentals" do they believe guests are charging?
Additionally, I didn't want a handicap room because the entire bathroom floor floods during every shower. I moved to another room in which the a/c unit was dismantled. How did the hotel not know that? My third room was fine, except that without daily housekeeping, I didn't receive additional coffee and cups. I had to go to the front desk twice to get replenished. For the daily room charge, how can housekeeping not be included?
The staff needs more training. A coworker staying in the same facility extended her stay another day. Her credit card was applied to a total stranger's room, and her room door was left open all day by housekeeping with her clothes and laptop inside.
No, I would not ever feel confident staying at this facility again! If this is not enough, there are no restaurants close by (except at the Hilton next door). It's not a good location.
Nice, spacious rooms, clean and convenient for my needs. Will stay here every time I need to go to NYC. It's about a 25-minute drive to the ferry, which is great.
Spent two nights for a 50th class reunion and could not have been happier.
Great staff, clean n spacious rooms, nice breakfast and convenient location.
Room was clean and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. Free breakfast was varied and plentiful. Location was ewwww easy to access and quiet. Liked the "horse"motif - gave the property character.
This place sucked. It was absolutely disgusting what I saw. In the shelf under the sink, there was toilet paper shoved in there and what I found was NASTY. Not only was there used toilet paper shoved in this shelf, but there was a USED PAD SHOVED IN THERE! Dried blood and all. I have been crying and gagging for 30 minutes. All the staff offered was to wipe down the area or give us a new room. I understand not much can be done without knowing who failed to clean this room, but that is absolutely nasty. Vile. This is a public hotel service and the fact that they are too lazy to clean properly is crazy. Not to mention how there were chip crumbs under my pillow! Makes me worry that nothing is washed! Also very strange that I can’t submit this without giving a rating, so I had to chose 1 star but this deserves 0 STARS! Please never stay here.
There is a cowboy theme throughout the hotel because it stands where a stable used to be. The staff here is very friendly and I was actually recognized for being an Honors member, something that rarely happens. The rooms were nice and the drinks and snacks were not too expensive!
The hotel is intertwined with nature. The rooms are very nice. Breakfast is a classic American breakfast, but also you should put in non-pork products. A big thank you to 'Anna' from reception. She was very kind and helpful. Me and my wife were very happy with the greeting card she sent to our room.
Extremely friendly staff, this hotel was super close to Brooklyn with plenty of free parking space. Nice room, clean and quiet.
This was my first visit to Staten Island to visit my son and newborn granddaughter! I searched online for a whole week to find the perfect hotel for our trip. I decided on booking with this hotel due to the good reviews, the complimentary breakfast and the great location. I cannot say enough positive things about our stay. From the early and very easy check in, to the size of our room (we had a 2 bed queen suite) that had comfortable beds, to the amazing breakfast that was always stocked and had very tasty options the whole family loved. This will be the only hotel I stay at for my future trips to the Island. Thank you Hampton for a wonderful weekend!
The room was clean. The staff was friendly, accommodating and professional. The breakfast had a little something for everyone. I enjoyed my stay & will stay here again next time I’m in Staten Island.
I booked this hotel for my 4 day stay from California. I checked in around 1: 30 am. I had some trouble checking in because one of the employees informed me of some incorrect information. This information was going to make my rate go up drastically. Delitha and Elizabeth handled the situation very professional even though they had to follow the policy. They called another employee by the name of Nikki. I explained the situation to her, and she understood my side. She took down all my information and said she would speak with the general manager. In the end, they honored the original rate and made my stay even better. This hotel was very clean. The food was good and we enjoyed our stay very much. To the ladies that worked with me, not against me. I appreciate your help. I know you were following policy. I felt your compassion for me knowing the circumstances and it being so late. Thank you.
Great place; we had a group move to Staten Island with about 90 students in our group alone, and countless other groups attended. They were able to accommodate all groups with ease.
Great place to stay! Big comfortable rooms. Nice complimentary breakfast. Twenty minute drive to Coney Island. One hour and 45 minutes to Atlantic City. Great restaurants in close proximity. Overall great place to stay! Horrible pillows!
I had to stay close to work for one night and stayed at this hotel. I am happy I made the choice because I was well rested and enjoyed every moment of it
There was soap scum in the bathroom but otherwise it was relatively clean. And there was a hot breakfast with multiple food options. It’s a little pricey but overall, I’d stay again.
Place was so dirty linen was disgusting had e.k. G tabs on my linen.security was so disrespectful! Didn't even get a refund for all of this nonsense!
Staff was great, beds comfortable. Pillows horrible- flat. I would suggest bringing your own travel pillow. The free breakfast was adequate, eggs could have been better. The room design, I stayed in a 2 queen suite was not done well. No storage for unpacking, and the chaise sofa, arm in the wrong direction. You could not sit and watch TV.
