I've been waiting almost 2 months now. I had blood work done, and passed with flying colors. No one contacted me for two weeks afterwards. Finally i got an email asking for income verification. What does this have to do with life insurance? FYI my credit is excellent and my income is above average. I think they are collecting data and selling it to other companies. Why else would they want all this information?

Now two more weeks has gone by, and i'm ready to give up on Haven Life. They must have a horrible process for new online policies, or they have so much business they simply don't care. Ir they make more money selling client data! Anyway, I'll be using someone else, i do NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY.

So far this has been a frustrating waste of time.

Do not trust that you will get a fair price if you need a medical exam. I was originally quoted $47 per month online and I'm in my early 30's. I filled out my application and needed a medical exam. Took it, and saw that 3 levels were out of range. The first two were my bilirubin. I have medically diagnosed Gilbert's syndrome, a harmless condition that does not affect life expectancy and I have no symptoms for except the elevated bilirubin that's undetectable without a blood test. I called and told them that and they added it to my file. The other out of range value was my glucose, which came in extremely low, as in, so low that I should have been having a seizure during the exam. This freaked me out, since I've never had an issue with it and I see my doctor for checkups regularly, so I retook that blood test with my doctor, and lo and behold, it came back normal. I sent that test result to Haven Life and thought we would be good to go since it was clear that the low glucose was an outlier. Imagine my surprise when my final quote came in at $115 a month! I called to ask why and they said because my blood results were "out of range" and the quote I got at first "isn't representative of the final price" and "most people fall into the category I was approved for". A couple questions:

1.) If "most people fall into" the category I was approved for, why didn't you quote me the most likely price? (obviously it's to draw me in with the allure of a price they don't mean to give me).

2.) Why would they increase my premium based on an obviously botched glucose result and an out of range value that's explained by a medical diagnosis that has no bearing on my life-expectancy at all whatsoever? Could it be that you're looking for any excuse to charge me more than double the price you dangled in front of me?

Think twice before using Haven Life. It's fine probably if you get through their application without need for an exam, but if not, don't expect a reasonable price, as it seems they'll look for any excuse to overcharge you.

Just a really terrible experience. I applied for life insurance and completed the medical exam June 7. It is now August 10 and I finally received an email requesting more information. Previously I was told repeatedly they didn't need anything additionally from me. We are well over two months from my initial application and my other insurance quotes are expiring so I am unable to even compare coverage and rates with this company. I expected more from this company, but it has been absolutely low quality. I can't imagine having to actually file a claim and how long that might take. Also, before the canned reply of thanks for your review blah blah blah, I have reached out multiple times and the support is not adequate. I can assure you.

They took so long to get back to us. So we decided to get insurance elsewhere and then they declined us since we have insurance elsewhere because we didn't mention we were shopping around. Not worth it!

I applied for a term life insurance policy via Policy Genius, at which time they paired me with Haven Life in March and after FOUR excruciating months of them digging into my medical records (understood, as they should) and emailing me with questions about why I got bit by a tick, what were the outcomes of certain doctor appointments even though they should have known from the medical records, they denied me for coverage! I am a 41 year old healthy woman! The only health condition I have is asthma, which is why they denied me. They also stated I have myalgia, which I’ve never been diagnosed with in my life! This place is a joke. If they aren’t insuring healthy 41 year olds, then who are they insuring? They humiliated me during the underwriting process as well with all of their silly, demeaning, time consuming questions. I do not recommend Policy Genius or Haven life!

By far the best price for term life insurance compared to 4 other companies. The website looks good, but it could have more information & more menus/pages for answering questions. I had to contact their Support for quite a few questions while signing up & evaluating my term life insurance policy. A more fleshed-out FAQ and a way to edit your policy without cancelling it would be great.

Extremely deceptive in their trade practices. They push the "Gray Area" of Obamacare to the extreme. Would definitely check their solvency before you sign.

My wife and I applied for 30 years term 750k policy. My wife was temporarily approved and needed to schedule a medical and verify her identity. I was not temporarily approved but also needed to verify my identity and schedule a medical. I did my medical and my labs came back but my cholesterol was high and it's the only thing not in green. My wife never did the medical. Today, my wife and I received our official offer. My wife's $51.69 that included the premium waiver. Mine was $174.89 that also included the premium waiver. My wife is 2 years younger than me, I'm 37 and we both had to upload photo id to verify our identity. My wife is white and I'm of color. What could possibly explain my premium which is 3x that of my wife's. Mind you apparently a full medical underwriting policy supposed to be cheaper than one without medical. I cancelled my application due to outright racism in their underwriting.

My wife just applied for a 20-years term life insurance on the breakfast table and it was approved before we finished out breakfast. Sounds like impossible thing, right? Well, it really happened. Thank you Haven Life.

Terrible experience, left me in review for months based on some mental health consoling I received more than 7 years ago. Terrible company that does not care about you, take your buisness elsewhere.

You have to change the way you evaluate a person is healthy or not.
You are scheduling lab tests - that’s one good measurement but you are pulling up prescriptions. Just based on old prescriptions you can’t Judge a person is heathy or not. Doctors recommended prescription medicine based on the condition or to take when in need. Because some one is having a prescription medicine by some doctor, doesn’t mean they are unhealthy. Am example: many women’s face different conditions in their pregnancy once they deliver baby they will come to normal order style and stay healthy forever. Based on prescription provided at the time of pregnancy you can’t judge a person as fair rating in their heathy condition. Soon it will impact your business model if you don’t change your way of evaluation.

If I could give 0 stars I would! This company is trash! It took two months for them even to look at my husbands application after many inquiries from me checking up on the process. Then we finally scheduled the medical exam, and that nurse was amazing! But then now a month later after the medical exam, we are just hearing back from haven life saying his application was cancelled because he didn’t have a medical exam in time. Really haven life, you need to get your stuff together. I can’t imagine if this is the application process what it would be like to get what you were due if something God forbid did happen to your love one on one of their policies. No thank you!

I've been waiting a month now for a quote. It seemed like I didn't need a physical when I signed up but ended up requiring one.

The first appointment was a no call no show. For the second, they were late by half an hour and Haven just told me after I reached out numerous times after weeks of radio silence that the exam company forgot to upload the exam results so now I have to wait longer.

So far this has been a frustrating waste of time.

I applied for Haven life insurance and waited 7 months for an underwriting team to review the policy. They finally emailed me today to let me know that I will age out soon and not qualify for their policy.
I wonder what they were viewing all this time. Dishonest!
Please, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere!
