Heckscher State Park, East Islip NY

Stayed at the new cottages in the park. They were absolutely beautiful, with great views. Park staff is always super friendly and helpful. I love how open this park is, the beach is really pretty to walk on. Also great for picnics and biking!

Great clean campsite.not as remote as I was looking for but awesome for something close to home

Large park on the bay with nice multi use paths. A good place for a picnic on the beach. There is a nice 3.2 mile loop that goes around the park.

Beautiful park but terrible for pets, aparrently theres one zone for them but its almost impossible to find it, wasted money on trying to find a walk way for my pet but never found it after an hour of driving around the whole park

Beautifully kept nice and clean!
Benches and tables are provided. Electricity is provided under the shelter area for music and entertainment. Water fountains and bathrooms are close by and clean. The perfect place for a big or small family celebration.

Very little people compared to the crowds at the other beaches in LI.
Great to get away from all the noisy people.
This is exactly what a relaxing beach day should be like. Just peace and quiet.

Nice park with plenty of fields. Went camping there. The sites were nice, you get a bbq, bench on platform and more than enough room to place your tent. The only downside were the bathrooms! No matter what time of day, they are GROSS. Thankfully i live near by and was able to shower at home. The bay beach were decent. Hardly anyone at the beach which is nice but beware of the rocks and seaweed. Overall will definitely visit again

The park is beautiful and calm.the only thing that disrupts the beauty and serenity are the 15 cabins they've built for some reason.money, I guess.

Great facility. Easy to get to, fantastic for having picnics, great beach. Very peaceful. My family loves going there.

Spacious, clean fields for Adult Co-ed Social events like playing kickball in the summer with LI-Kick. Flip cup, water balloon toss and othefcompetitions after the games.

A lot of potential, but not well-maintained. We went because we were.looking for a "pet-friendly" beach. Lots of recreational areas, one tiny strip of lawn far from everywhere else for my dogs to sniff around. Kids refused to swim at the beach because the water was thick with seaweed. A total waste of the $10 fee for us. We disappointedly left after 20 minutes.

Very quiet, always love to come here, there is so much to do, playground area, picnic area, basketball courts.

Moved away 12 years ago came back to visit and the park and beach is still awesome. Thank you. My grandchildren and I really enjoyed it

Great park, picnic tables available, well treed, washrooms on site, beach, had our 1st family reunion here. Liquor licence was obtained for beer and wine. Brought our food and tents to top it off on a hot day.

Coming here for picnic is okay but the water not so great. The water itself is probably clean but the muddiness coast make it look brown and murky.

I went to Field 4. Nearby the parking lot. We were lucky there were a lot of trees. Otherwise we would've been roasted under the sun. It's about 3 min drive from the beach, so was better than suffering under no trees at fields near the beach. Get there early if you can!

I'm a girl from the west coast, I can't say I'm not biased when it comes to reviewing beaches in the east coast. I mean have you SEEN the beaches on the highway one? (Chandler's voice) It really can't compare.

Racism is real in America smh even at the park in the heat wave but rise up people and love one another. The beach washed away alllll the blues. That is all.

Beautiful for family and picnic. There are lot of fields for picnic area and beach area too. We enjoyed with our family picnic. I like it.

Nice wide open park wIth bike paths, hiking trails and swimming. Bathrooms were clean. Lifeguards were on duty. Lots of picnic tables and areas.
