Heritage Center for Rehabilitation reviews
13Staff communicated well, keeping my son informed about his treatment plan. Their approach was really helpful.
Stay away from this place, the social worker michelle threatened by asking the patient to sign papers Thay he cannot be discharged because she didnt want to provide him discharge papers. She has also threaten the patient that his home will be check that is really unprofessionalism, and this would be all reported this place needs to be audited
The nurses here were not just attentive, but truly supportive throughout my grandma's recovery process. They went above and beyond.
If you’re considering putting your loved ones here, I beg you to reconsider. I’m telling all of you that half of these reviews were probably faked. They treated my godmother poorly and likely missed her medications.
My godmother called and said that the nurse missed one of her medications. It was the first time this nurse took care of her so she was worried this nurse was not familiar with what medications my godmother was supposed to take. The nurse spoke to her in a really harsh tone and was extremely impatient even knowing that she doesn’t speak much English, which is literally not my godmother’s fault.
The second nurse came and was EXTREMELY rude on the phone, one even questioning me “You are not here, why are you listening to her [my godmother]? ” Excuse me? How DARE she speak as if my godmother was mentally ill or incapable of knowing what she’s saying. That is the most red flag, problematic thing I’ve ever heard from someone who we are supposed to trust our loved one’s care to.
I called to ask about a possible MISSED MEDICATION and instead of cooperating and figuring out what could be the issue, two of the nurses started getting all defensive 100% sure that they could not have missed anything. Their whole argument was: I’m not there in-person, therefore the nurses are right. If I want to figure things out I have to call the supervisor, they won’t cooperate with me and my godmother to figure out what’s wrong. My godmother told me that she hasn’t been feeling well in the past few days and was dizzy and lightheaded when she woke up this morning. I brought this up to the nurses over the phone and don’t be surprised, they ignored it.
This isn’t the first time I witnessed such repulsive actions from this rehab center. I visited over the summer and saw similar behaviors and attitudes towards some patients and my godmother. The way they behave when family members are present at the center and when they are not are totally different. The nurses got such poor attitudes and lack the professionalism nurses are supposed to have. As one of the other reviewers said, why choose a profession if you can’t be good to the people you are supposed to serve?
I will make necessary contacts to resolve this issue. If anything I will bring up a complaint with the NYDOH.
