19This is a great place. While it definitely gets busy at peak times, that's a fact of life here. The truly great thing about this location are the people who work here. The staff members are always friendly, efficient, and helpful. I recall a Thrifty that used to be on 87th, where staff were always harried and grumpy, but here, it is clear that the team works together and does a great job. Plus, the cars are always clean. Thanks!
Worst experience ever. We were waiting a line for 2h and 30 minutes with a reservation. Terrible service, slow and staff not nice at all, very rude.
Charged me nearly five times the “expected” amount at pickup and almost a month later of back and forth of different invalid explanations, ghosted me when I asked for a specific reason why. Ended up having to bring dispute through credit card company.
It's just ok. The staff at multiple locations has been on a decline for a long time and seemingly gets worse with every visit.
The cars, how ever, are nice and we'll equipped.
I booked a car thru Hertz central booking system yesterday.
Everything went fine and I had to pick up the car this morning at their Hertz location, 332 E, 76th Street, NYC.
But everything went very wrong this morning when they refused to rent me the vehicle because I only had to present them a Gold Visa debit card. The same card that I gave yesterday evening to secure the booking.
I am French and my bank account is in France. In France the uses are to have debit card and not credit card. Thanks god it is not a problem usually - it would be very problematic for all the tourists coming from France or Europe if it was an issue - and I successfully rented many cars since I live in NYC.
The funny part is that in their office at this Hertz Location, there is a board where you can read that it is illegal to refuse to rent a vehicle because of the type of card the holder is presenting.
But actually it was all but funny. Very poor customer service indeed, rather frustrating and infuriating.
Been a customer for 20 years. Not anymore my last '3' experiences were really bad. Pity used to be good.
Customer service representative Elba has no respect for the clients or the company. I feel if you dont like servicing the public you definitely need to make a career change.
The lady gave me a car that had bad brakes and the engine light was on. They told me "good luck" and overcharged me 60$. Total apathy!
The woman thats works sundays in the evening is extremely rude! I will be taking my buisness somewhere else where they have employees that have manners. This call was done at 845 pm on sunday feb 11 2018 the womam refused to give me her name as to why she remains as "the woman"
The site was under construction at the time we went - lots of dust and very noisy. It also took a long time to get our car from the garage upstairs.
I've rented 3 times so far from this location in the last 3 months. Convenient location, quick service, good staff. Only disadvantage is that they never seem to have a car that has a full tank of gas.
Good cars and good location for me, but rude staff and over $500 penalty for returning the car late.
Every car I have gotten (which is usually in the compact category) has been clean and practically new! Also, everyone who works at this location makes the rental experience very easy and convenient. Thanks!
The worst phone service on the planet. No direct number to the actual location i want to call. Had to drive to the location. So dumb i can't even comprehend.
Picked up at E76th in NYC and dropped off at JFK - both experiences were excellent. A special shout out to Deseree at E76th - courteous, helpful, efficient person. Loved the clean, new car - a Hyundai Elantra.
Another painless rental from Hertz E76th. Nice car and helpful staff. Everything went smoothly. Fast pick-up, fast return. I would rent here again.
All of the representatives were very unprofessional. Very unaware of what the company policies were! Overall it was a very frustrating experience & I will take my business else where.
Awful. Worst customer service ever. The staff are clueless and very difficult to understand. Contacting them by phone is almost impossible and once you do the manager never responds anyway.
Clean car ready for pickup when I arrive is always a pleasure. One way or round trip rentals are equally easy. Service at the counter excellent.
