High Horse Salon, Brooklyn NY

I used to go to an expensive upper east side salon that had models and celebrities as clients but Katie G did just as good, she gave me amazing balayage highlights in a subtle manner not too bright and just right for my dark hair. High horse salon is also incredible it has a speak easy vibe and on a beautiful street in Williamsburg. Everyone was nice and everything was sanitized before and after.

I absolutely love High Horse and have been getting my haircuts here exclusively for years. Karafina is AMAZING! I trust her implicitly. She listens, knows my hair, and creates beautiful cuts that I absolutely love.

Karafina is the best! Not only did she take the time to really listen to my hair concerns, but she was really supportive and non-judgmental about what I wanted with my hair. I totally recommend High Horse and Karafina!

Katie was amazing! So sweet and did a great job with my cut and color, salon is super clean and Covid safe. I hadn't gotten a cut since the beginning of the pandemic so this was so refreshing, thanks again! 10/10.

Stylists are good. Physical place itself is lackluster and odd - like the forgotten wing of some old Victorian house.

Karafina changed my hair-life. She reaaaally listens to you, asks lots of questions to make sure she knows what you'd like but also, has opinions/suggestions for your type of hair- the perfect balance! She actually knows how to handle my wavy/curly hair. Now if only I could find someone in Austin who knew how to handle my bangs the way she did! My trips back to Brooklyn will forever involve a cut from Karafina!

High Horse is a really nice salon.

The employees are all good at what they do and I've only received great cuts from this place.

Usually I go to barbers that are cheap and I end up feeling annoyed at my decision. But not so after leaving High Horse.

I've been getting my haircut here a few times a year for more than 5 years now and I don't ever plan to go anywhere else. They do a great job no matter whom I'm paired with and I think that $75 is a reasonable price for a women's cut in the area. Every friend I've sent high horse to has loved it for both cuts and color.

Great experience with Katie — I came in with horribly brassy, grown out highlights and left with the platinum blonde of my dreams. I had wanted to do it forever and just needed a stylist to tell me to go for it. Now I can’t believe I waited so long. The color is perfect and I have since been back to get my roots done, and got a trim for my bob that looks even better than before. Overall perfect experience.

I've been coming here for a few years and always liked the results. One time I was not completely satisfied and the salon fixed the problem at no cost.

Wonderful salon! I’ve heard people buzzing about it in the past 6 years I’ve lived in NYC, and finally got a cut. I didn’t have an appointment on a Friday night, and they managed to fit me in an opening. Kristi did a fantastic job, consulted what we’d do, and took her time. So happy with it! And I have to say I got looks and compliments the entire night ‍️

Friendly, experienced staff, good prices (for New York; $50 for a cut), and consistently great results.

Great haircut, but I think my stylist's scissors may have needed sharpening; the ends of my hair aren't as smooth as they usually are after a cut. It could be the humidity lately, though.

I've gone to Highhorse a few times, and when I went yesterday the new stylist Karafina really hooked it up! The head message she gave me was amazing and my hair came out great.

I love both stylists that I've seen for cuts and color. Amazing work! Downfall of this salon is they don't accept cards, but even more so.the receptionist / front desk person rarely answers the phone, sends cryptic booking texts or doesn't respond to voicemails when you're trying to book an appointment. Overall, the stylists are great. The support staff, not so great.

Already gotten two compliments since I left. Eric was super great - look forward to going back!
