High Peaks Rest Area South reviews
11 Nice rest area, good choice in vending machines, clean toilets
Nice stop beautiful place…. Amazing view
No services or gas. Bathroom and text stop only. Needed gas and initially popped up as a search result. Not a lot of options in the area but was able to make it to the next one about 10 miles down the road. Be aware!
Convenient rest stop along the road, the vending machines are kept well stocked, and the bathrooms are kept clean (for the most part), but the graffiti in the stalls needs to be painted over (the swastikas on the stall doors aren't a great addition to the overall aesthetics of the building).
Both the north and south High Peaks rest areas are some of the very best rest areas anywhere. They're not gas stations or fast food courts, just great restrooms and some vending machines.
Nothing great, nothing spectacular but a nice spot to pull over and use the bathroom or text or take a rest.
Clean and well maintained facilities. Very pretty grounds, if the weather is nice pack a lunch to eat outside! I wish all rest areas were this nice.
Great stop, easy access, clean restrooms, vending machines, picnic tables, and a dog area.
I can sleep here in peace in my truck, bathrooms are always clean clean clean!
If you have a chance to talk with the state troopers that are usually here, they are cool.just dont speed like a nut.
One hour after the Canadian border, this is the place to stop for washrooms, rest, snacks, and drinks for all travelers, cars trucks trailers etc.
I find this place the cleanest rest area between Montreal and NYC.
Most serene Rest stop on the 87. You get info about the Adirondack area, lots of parking and picnic tables, clean bathrooms and MAPS INSIDE THE BUILDING.
