Hilton Garden Inn New York/ Manhattan Midtown East reviews
15Room was ok in the middle of busy NY. Front desk personnel (Ronnie) was helpful and pleasant; assisted us in fixing the coffee machine and allow us to leave our luggage at the reception counter so that we could walk around a bit after checkout.
Room was dirty, Chick-fil-A French fries box was left under the bed and the so called white bedding was dirty. There is broken finger nails on the carpet which means the room was never cleaned and the bedding was never washed and changed. I will NEVER use this hotel or the chain ever again. I called the front desk several time I’m still waiting for an improvement as promised.
The pillowcase on my bed bad blood stains on it and the sheets had stains. When I checked in, I wasn’t informed that there was NO maid service unless I have them 25 hours notice! When I came back to the room at 11 PM, no one was at the front desk. I didn’t need to use my elevator key to get access to my 20th floor room. The hotel was totally unsecured. And, when I tried numerous time to call the Front Desk Button or 0, no one answered. This hotel should NOT carry the Hilton name. The individual employees were fine…just poor management and policies.
The service was awful, Casey tried to spin my words around by interjecting when I mentioned how I requested to have my room clean and it's been two days already and has not been done, but I didn't care to mention, I'm not a tourist, I'm from NY, this trip is for my nieces and nephew who haven't had the experience. I rather stay in Jersey then to experience this again.
We stayed on the 4th of July weekend. The room was pathetic, not even checked thoroughly by the staff before handing over to us. The safe in the room wasn’t working, the receptionist didn’t even care to give us the bottles of water until asked for. The hotel lobbies are very unclean with trash all over. Service and food are very poor. The walls are so thin, the person in the other room can hear all your conversations. There were bugs in the room. But who cares? !?
On our third trip to Manhattan my wife and I decided not to stay in the Times Square/ Garment District area again and wanted something different so we found ourselves at the Hilton Garden Inn on East 52nd Street btwn 2nd and 3rd ave's and must say it was a great experience. Wanting to get an early start on our trip we left Ohio and showed up at the hotel roughly 12/13 hours before our original check-in time of 4pm that day. Nonetheless, they were more than willing to accommodate us and alter our reservation for which we were more than grateful. It was nice to be in not such a "touristy" area and be able to enjoy ourselves almost as locals with all the bars, restaurants and shops that were within walking distance of the hotel door. Even the 8 minute walk to the parking garage wasn't a big deal with so much to do between locations. Wish the park behind the hotel they advertised was open during our stay, and maybe a couple more luggage trolleysbut, those being the only complaints all in all we had a great time, great experience and will be back again thank you so much Hilton staff.
Great location. Can easily walk to a few sight seeing attractions, good restaurants near by. Rooms are small and walls are paperthin. Overall good place to stay.
Great hotel, accompanied with a great last name. I have visited many Hilton's across the country from New York, to Beverly Hills and I think that the service you receive makes you feel at home. I have visited the Hilton for leisure, for drinks, and work, always highly recommended for you.
One of the friendliest staff especially the manager who's always there assisting everyone. Not a single employee there who doesn't wear a smile. Good job guys!
In the city center. Very small hotel but staff are friendly. Rooms are small. No special views. Lobby has free candies on weekends and free coffee every day. News papers are available. The most appreciated part is that all rooms has a microwave. Which is very useful.
Felt the room size was pretty generous given my past experiences with hotels in NYC. Not large by Hilton standards tho. Made a great base for our adventures to time square and Central Park.
Stayed here for 4 or 5 day's, 2 Elevators and every day only one of the 2 was working.
Stayed on the 15th floor so getting things up to the room was a little much and working around House Keeping and Matniance in a space for 4 people, I'll let you guess how this went.
Room was fair, Service the same.
We stayed here because our original hotel didn't have a room for us. This room was comped for the night.
I'm a native New Yorker and move to New Jersey recently had to come back to New York City on business for one night. I cannot express the thoughtfulness and courteousness of the front desk especially a man named Jamal.the room is exceptionally clean the view is breathtaking you have everything right downstairs from you from Insomnia Cookies to Panda Express and Mimi's which is a New York City Landmark for Italian food.if you need to be in New York this is the place to be they also have dining downstairs and a small bar the lobby is very clean the people are very polite. I recommend it highly ask for Jamal at front desk he is an asset to this hotel!
The Good: Good location near Hertz, many restaurants, and short rides to tourist attractions without being in the thick of it. The elevators work very fast.
The Bad: The room is very small, especially with two beds in it. I was constantly dodging around the furniture-beds and desk chair. Bathroom door won't stay open. Walls are very thin, so you hear constant noise. The food and drinks are just mediocre. I recommend eating elsewhere. The breakfast was insanely expensive for what you get, and you're forced to be served, and therefore a tip will be expected. Would have been nice to have a self-service buffet with an option for ordering. I just stayed at a Hilton Garden in Lexington last week, and it was superior. The bathroom door would not stay open. And the fan sounds like a jet after about 15 minutes of running.
The Ugly: When I arrived, I wasn't given a room that fit what I had paid for our requested. When I checked my check-in, there was an appropriate room. But I was bumped due to a large group arriving. Thankfully I got a room. I got very worried because the check-in took so long. I would likely look elsewhere if I had to stay in the area again.
