Hilton Garden Inn New York/Central Park South-Midtown West

Rooms need some work. The elevators always take forever and the staff is hit or miss on if they are friendly. The location is great.

We had a bad experience with this hotel, at first we were well received by the receptionists, who were super attentive, we went up to leave our bags in the room, it had just been cleaned and we smelled a strong smell of perfume spray.we thought it was because it had just been cleaned. When we returned from our trip, the room had an unbearable, rotten smell, like wet and moldy carpet. I soon informed and we were told that we would change rooms, not in that exact moment.
We are waiting until now. It didn't happen, we already came back to our home.
One of my kids got sick cause the bed small was so strong and we had no other option.

Another problem that made us very insecure was the door to our room not closing properly. There was a problem with the lock. I had to use a lot of force to get it to lock and close.
We found the door only propped open twice after we left, it was definitely some type of maintenance or cleaning carried out by the maids.
I don't think I would go back nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone.

All the staff was great, Priscilla was wonderful. We arrived early in a storm my family was accommodated with an early check in. Priscilla also printed out maps to help us safely find our way in the city. I had a wonderful first time visit to New York.

Fantastic location to access most of NY attractions on foot. Very comfortable bed. Be prepared to wait for lifts if on high floors. Friendly, helpful staff

Fantastic location to all the local restaurants, subways, Central Park and time square. The staff were really friendly and the room was very clean.

We did not have many issues with the lifts we have read in other posts.

I would definitely recommend and stop here again.

Spectacular location, the rooms have a microwave and minibar, which is great for making snacks in the room. Room is relatively spacious considering NY. Close to everything and the subway. I highly recommend it.

Fantastic. Great room, friendly and attentive staff, hotel was close to a ton of great things to do, see and eat. We didn't try the steakhouse attached to the hotel, but the sushi place right next door is really good. We will definitely be staying here again next time we're in town.

Good location near the theater district. Restaurants nearby. Comedy Club next door. Subway about 1 1/2 blocks away goes right down to the 911 Museum and area.

Overall okayish experience.
Small, tight rooms - will rebook only if visiting alone, not with family.
Staff - some front desk staff are rude, hang up phone when called. A few were gems and very pleasant and courteous. Room cleaning service staff were lazy and not showed up several days even when service was requested.
Breakfast - same, bland breakfast everyday. Not at all worth the $25 being charged.
Location - EXCELLENT!
Others - found the self service laundry an helpful amenity.

Wonderful experience, between comfort, good service and excellence.

Issues was: hidden fees and taxes. I was supposed to pay 757 euros for 3 nights (via Booking) but I ended up getting charged 1061 euros for 3 nights.

We booked a two night stay and had an excellent check in. The front desk staff is helpful and very welcoming. The lobby is small, and busy! There are 3 elevators, but, with 34 floors of rooms, they are heavily used. If ice is important to you (it is to us) the ice machines are not available on every floor. With the heavy use of the elevators, sometime it takes time to fill the ice bucket. Next time we stay, we’ll request a floor with an ice machine
The room was comfortable and well appointed. Everything was sparkling clean, but you’ll have to request housekeeping (as it is the norm in many hotels now, after COVID). We were on the 5th floor, right across from the elevators and it was super quiet (the doors are very heavy!).
The surrounding area was lively both during the day and at night, with several restaurants, delis, diners, etc within walking distance. For late late night munchies, Subway is open 24/7 right across the street.
Overall, an excellent stay.

The rooms need interior design upgrades.
Priscilla and Isaac welcomed me and took care of me throughout my stay.
The hotel is located in between Central Park and the Theatre District, and between Hell’s Kitchen and Fifth Avenue.
