Hoja Santa reviews
16I love Josue. He’s really the best! Thank you so much for being so kind.excelente service and customer service
It was okay food. The menu wasn’t updated when I went and the food i received was totally different. I got the branzino and it was just weird. Drinks and service were great.
WOW! An upscale food experience. The enchiladas and tacos were PERFECT. And at a lower price than most Hispanic restaurants in the area. This is definitely going on my favorites list. Not coming here sooner was a mistake.
Walked in on a hot august night and there was no ac on the inside and a bit of a smell when you walk in. The service was amazing the waiter was super attentive and prices were reasonable.two entres, an app and 2 drinks $90 with tip.
The shrimp tacos were amazing the enchiladas were so salty I had trouble sleeping. I shouldn't have kept eating all that salt but I was so hungry I just wolfed it down. I think there are better places in Astoria where you can spend $90 and have better food with ac.
Went for restaurant week. Ordered the bass. Food and service was great. Try their tamarind margarita. Spicy but yummy!
Service was great; very attentive. Came here for restaurant week and food was flavorful. Will come back to try other items.

I’ve had this place on my “want to try” list for awhile. I was very excited to finally be in the area & try it out.
I was initially a bit anxious there wouldn’t be a table available, but there was barely anyone there when I went around 6: 30 on a Friday.
I really like the vibe and the location, but the seasoning wasn’t doing it for me. I needed some salt and pepper in my guac and a lot of hot sauce in my tacos. I didn’t get alcohol, but got mango agua Fresca which was good. I’ve never had this type of drink before so I was expecting a bit more mango.
For Queens, I was expecting good quality for a reasonable price. No, I paid ~$50 with tip & I didn’t even drink alcohol. I’m a bit jaded not going to lie. Maybe other dishes have more flavorful seasoning, but this place isn’t for me.
We had 4 items off of a petite, curated menu, and they were all great. Don’t miss the margaritas or the mole! This place is a hidden gem.
We had breakfast there, and it was delicious and unique. I had cajeta (?) pancakes. Another had huevos ranchero with chorizo. I like the slight spiciness.
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant.
The food was delicious and the service was top-notch. I had some amazing tacos. The caramelized onions with the jalapeños and guacamole made them very well balanced.
The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure that we had everything we needed. The restaurant itself was clean and modern, with a great atmosphere.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal and excellent service
I'm not a fan of fish and this place has more fish-based dishes than anything else. Had the skirt steak, it was a bit small and overcooked. Avocado sauce tasted great though. The skirt steak was one of 2 meat based dishes on the menu, not sure if the menu is seasonal or not.
Hoja Santa is such a cozy restaurant! The crew is super friendly and food is delicious! Definitely recommend.
The food was tasty, innovative modern Mexican. However, the waiter forgot to put in half of our order and made a mistake with our drinks.
The cocktails barely had any liquor in them, a bit expensive for a $15+ drink
Came here on a whim with my wife. Easily became one of my favorite Mexican spots.
The food, the service, the atmosphere… everything was excellent that day. Do not hesitate to go in.
Excellent place
Good food
Jose Luis very attentive and kind
And it makes some delicious drinks.
10/10 place in my opinion. My friends and I ordered the shrimp tacos, chips and guac, carne asada, and enchiladas verdes. It all tasted so good especially the tacos. As for drinks I recommend the blackberry margarita on the rocks. For dessert, the churros and chocoflan tasted amazing. Aside from the food, the service was also great. The waitresses were very friendly and attentive. They made sure we enjoyed everything we ordered and went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. I recommend this place to everyone and will definitely be coming back.
