Holiday Inn Express Canton - Potsdam, an IHG Hotel

The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and accommodating. An enjoyable breakfast was served hot and fresh each morning. A convenient store gas station was just across the parking lot. Not much else in walking distance.

Perfect location while visiting Potsdam. The guys were very very accommodating especially Justin.

I came here with my mother and my sister and the rooms were nice enough, but the boy at the front desk made jokes like “using the fitness room to work off the cinnamon rolls” which I didn’t think was very professional or sensitive as my sister is a larger woman and my mother is an older woman. He also was very pushy about the company rewards program, and my sister just wanted to get up to the room so she said no, and she had to say no about 3 or 4 times to get him to stop. Later, after check in, she saw in her email that she gave him that there was an email asking about sign ups. Our rooms were fine, they were clean and had plenty of space. And when we checked out, the girl checking us out was very polite.

Nice place, nothing great. Prices are way too high for just a room. Won't be staying there again.

Room needs a complete work over, shade fell apart, had to get a remote and washcloths, pool been broken for years, probably why very few guests

I booked this hotel for a work related training and was unhappy with my stay. The only reason I am giving this 3 stars is that the front desk attendant was AMAZING! After dragging everything to my assigned room, I arrived to find the door open. The majority of the room was clean with the exception of the bathtub that was full of pubic hair! We went back down, the front desk person was wonderful and immediately put us into another room. Shortly after settling into that room we discovered the phone in the room didn’t work we were unable to log into the Wi-Fi. It just seemed to be one thing after another! The only saving grace was the wonderful employee who worked hard to fix the issues.

Well, we got there at a little bit before 4 pm. Our check-in was 3. The room wasn't ready. That's ok.we were hungry anyway, so we went to Potsdam to eat and didn't get back until almost 7 pm, and we still had to wait to get our key. We had to wait 20 more minutes. They had to check to make sure the room was clean. Guess what? I assumed it was because we got our key and directed us to the elevators. We went up to the room and went in. The floor was sticky as soon as i walked in! My feet stick to the floor. The refrigerator doesn't work, and the door on the shower door was filthy.

Great place to get some rest after working a weekend job. The staff we're friendly & polite.

This was an amazing hotel super reasonably priced! It was really clean, modern and comfortable. Staff was nice from the little interaction I had, gym was really nice, and the breakfast was very legit and free! Def would stay here again if passing thru canton.

Close to the center. Clean, good simple breakfast.
Beds were comfy.
Everything was renovated relatively recently, although some minor jobs were not done well (wall finish, especially too-few-coats-and-see-through paint)
Very acceptable though, would go back.
Pool was out of order while we were there though.

Stayed here twice and both times was given a room next to the elevator. Definitely loud enough to wake you up. The floors were often muddy from contractors/workers boots. I get that, but a broom or a vaccuum would solve that problem easily. But the dried mud remained day after day. There were also random days during the week when no breakfast was offered. And the price gouging over the weekends is rediculous. Pretty dissapppinting for a HIE, which is usually my go-to chain.
