Holiday Inn Express New York Jfk Airport Area, an IHG Hotel, Jamaica NY

We didn't stay unfortunately my daughter tested positive for covid, but the front desk manager nick was understanding and amazing and canceled our reservation the same day without a fee.

This hotel cancelled my reservation without any explantion.
I sent an e-mail asking about a shutter service from the Airport to the hotle few days ago. But I got a cancellation email instead of a reply to my asking. I've sent an email asking why and what's going on.
But I'm worried about people who might have the same experience like me that's why I'm writting here.
Even if you got a confirmation from the hotel, they can cancel your hotel without any notice and explanation.

The accomadations exceeded my expectations greatly. Our room was on the lower level because we got in late and I must admit I gave the front desk a hard time because I booked in advance, but boy was I pleasantly surprised. To my delight the room was clean and comfortable and while I assumed being on the lower level was a travesty it actually turned out to be a saving grace. We were conveniently located close to the dining area, gym, desk, entrance, and parking. We could look out the window at our car! It was great!

Wasn't sure of what to make of a Caribbean restaurant in the heart of Dubai but was amazed upon entry, it represented the Caribbean and especially the island of Jamaica well, the ambiance is nice work of art, the vibe is great, staff very friendly and the food is good, a little cozy but well worth the visit

Worst stay ever. I called and made a reservation for a room with 2 beds my card was charged when I got to the hotel no room was available so I waited I was handed a keep when I got to the room it had only one bed. I made countless calls for the to changed the room and nothing was done I was told that’s the only room they had, now am asking for the difference from what I was charged and was informed I can’t get it and to make matters worse I was charged $25 extra while checking in and was informed that this would be refund after checking out now am being told that it’s for early checking

The hotel staff were wonderful. That being said, the stench of cigarette smoke is hard to miss and the hotel is supposed to be smoke free. There's also a noticeable marijuana smell in certain parts of the hallway (at least in the 4th floor). The hotel is clean. I chose the hotel because of its proximity to the airport. I can't recommend it for families but for solo travelers, it will do. If they get rid of the cigarette smell, this hotel will get at least 4 stars from me. Also, there's no restaurant around and walking is not recommended because it's next to a busy expressway.

Just to inform everybody this Holiday inn by JFK airport is no longer a regular hotel it has became a shelter for men

Works for a quick night over, in transit or in town for business. Convenient but not amazing or very clean. Wouldn't take the kids there but for a quick stop it works.

Very bad hotel to stay with. Its a one star hotel. The area is close from airport but not so good. They have the worst customer service. No room service at all in 3 days. The area is not that safe along with the parking lot. Lot of people just roam around. Saw a car with broken glass. Make aure you park the car without having any valuable items inside.

Loud TV sounds from next door, I had to call the hotel front desk, they have sent the security within short time, Marijuana smells all over the hotel, very noise, room was very out dated, old mattress, old blanket, towels were very old, It wasn't pleasant at all. Not only that I had to pay for the parking.

My experience with this place was absolutely terrible, I ended up not staying because of how terrible the experience and service was. The first room I had the A/C started running water onto the TV and the electrical wires behind it, I got the room changed. The second room smelled like someone was actively smoking in the room. I tried getting another room, but the front desk "manager" decided to curse at my wife and I and refused to give us another room. After a long back and forth I final got another room, but I quickly got out of the room because it smelled like damp carpet with mold. This was by far the worst Holiday Inn I have ever stayed at. The front desk "manager" didn't care to accommodate myself and pregnant wife and choose to curse at us instead for something that wasn't in our control. I asked for a refund, but got curse at instead. After that experience I cancelled my IHG membership. I do not recommend this place.

Hotel is clean however I stayed here for 3 nights. I used the room for 5 hours each night to sleep then I went about my day. My room was completely vacant for the entire day. Housekeeping do not enter my room. The beds were not made, the trash was not emptied, towels were on the floor for 3 days. Needless to say I had to go take a shower at my mother's home. The service was substandard. I will never stay here again. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

I will start by stating that the staff was professional at all times. In the morning the staff was able to assist with the to-go continental breakfast bags. The check in process was lengthy as there was only one member available to assist a line of guest. Be ready for a 10-20min wait time so leave your baggage in the car if you can. Speaking of car, parking is not free. When booking, it didn't share this information and street parking is impossible eapecially with the neighboring hotels and being right off the a major highway and side way from the airport. The windows are not sealed meaning you can open the window. There is no safety gate or guard at these windows so be careful with your children. So outside the rate of the room, NY taxes, hotel fees including incidental fees, and parking, you price can easily double or so #epending on how many nights are to your stay. The TV was a little problematic. It had smart options but they didn't work. You where not able to plug in your personal laptop or steaming device as there was a tempering device at the ports. The automatic lights in the bathroom and hallway can be annoying. The bed wasn't comfortable because it is a flat springy mattress and it was pushing into my back so it was hard to sleep. Lastly, the air was stuffy in the room and hallway. Going outside was 100% better or being on the ground floors so maybe a ventilation situation that needs attention. The only good in my eyes was customer service. The rooms and the location was clean. The hotel is at a very convenient location. The Holiday Inn is trusted, classy and comfortable. I was happy with this location.

The towels were dingy, our third day the water in the toilet and shower started to turn brown. The bathroom was dirty and their rooms are really small. No space at all unless this is all of NY hotels wouldn’t recommend

It was all okay, free shuttle was provided, breakfast is ok, bed is really comfy, room is fine. There was weed smell in hotel's hall. Dark curtains are not closing fully, so in the morning lights get in the room.

Our stay was okay, nice staff but not in masks, free shuttle from and to the airport, comfy bed. Hotel halls smell with weed though.

It is nice that they have 24hr shuttle. It is one of the main reasons we picked this hotel. The staff is friendly. The rooms were clean but very very small. The location is close to the airport but there is no food options around it. Breakfast during covid is a corn muffin (yuck) a carton of milk and a yogurt so don't expect much.or anything.
