Holiday Inn Express & Suites Albany Airport Area - Latham, an IHG Hotel

Everything is clean and well maintained. Breakfast is included, typically eggs, French toast, sausage, pancakes, fresh fruit. We've never been disappointed with s Holiday Inn Express.

They say they are going to renovate this Fall. They probably should have renovated last Fall or maybe the Fall before that. It's bad! Old. Smells bad. A/C is so loud it sounds like there's a truck at the window.

Wow! We had an incredible stay at the Holiday Inn and Express in Latham NY. The hotel manager, Sheila, was amazing! Her attitude and enthusiasm made us feel so welcomed and comfortable. She went above and beyond to make our stay extraordinary. We truly appreciate her empathetic and helpful approach. 5 stars for Sheila!

The rooms were clean but needed some love. Old carpet. Very outdated decor. Lunch was average at best.

Room 235 had a very MUSTY smell for our 2 day visit. Any person who stopped by our room on a family reunion commented on the smell.

Carpet was old and stained and ripping up. Cleaning supplies left in the hallways also. And one of the elevators was broken. Bathroom looked like a weird 90s bathroom trying to be Italian. It was old and weird. Had like a Walmart surge protector in my room because they had lamps taking all the outlets and the lap that had a outlet was being taken up by the microwave.

Terrible hotel do not stay if you can help it. I figured out the smell in the room was sweat coupled with the staff using a dirty old mop to clean the bathroom. Hotel staff clearly does not care; behaves like you are bothering them. Don’t understand why people act that way at work, you are already there may as well make the best of it. Location is great because it’s right if the highway. Room felt dirty and smelled; that was the most important/worst part. Oh and someone pulled the fire alarm at 12: 45am and didn’t get turned off for 1/2 hour. Overall a terrible experience.

The most amazing experience. The staff from front desk to the on tap restaurant/lounge.room was clean and very comfortable.continental Breakfast was A+ offered many delicious options each morning.would 100 recommend this holiday inn for a stay or for trainings (they offer conference rooms also)

I would NEVER stay here again. We were here for 7 nights while visiting family and it was extremely disappointing. Our keys didn’t work properly the first 2 days and we were locked out of our room twice. The carpets were so dirty that walking around in socks turned the socks black. Housekeeping only came in one day during our stay. We were told there was a shortage of housekeepers. We asked for extra towels and we were told there was a shortage of towels so we would have to use our towels multiple times. I called downstairs for toilet paper and tissues and was told to come downstairs and get them myself. That’s fine but there was no apology for being short staffed. In fact she was matter-of-fact and rude about it. The hallways, elevators, and hotel were dirty. If you are staying in the Latham area, find another hotel.

We only stayed one night, it helps when you're on the road. Expensive for this hotel is due for a refresh. Well soundproofed at least.

If I could give them a zero for service I would except for two of the staff who were super nice and helpful. The manager was not exactly Mr. Personality or Mr. Friendly when we came in and mixed up my name. It wasn't like the front desk was slammed so his being short with us can only be attributed to that is how he is. There is no indication anywhere that we needed to order housekeeping the night before we wanted service, so we didn't get any on our second day there. We found out the deal and ordered housekeeping for our third day and guess what.nothing. Nobody cleaned our room. Also, our second day there, our key cards failed to work after we got back from a long day. They had to reset it. The shower head sprayed everywhere except on the person in the shower so it always had to be on the "massage" setting where it all comes out of the center. Except for one young lady who was regularly at the front desk, the rest were like the manager. When we left, we complained to the front desk young lady who apologized and offered "points" that could be used for a free night stay. I refused and said that I was done. My spouse agreed to speak to the manager if he called but specifically asked that he NOT call that day because we would be flying out. And.guess what.about a couple hours later he calls. We asked him to call back another day and surprise! No call. He will likely make excuses and probably blamed the young lady at the front desk, housekeeping, or someone else. He seems like that type to avoid responsibility and ignore complaints. This Mickey Mouse operation called Holiday Inn Express probably will keep him and the mediocre staff and not the couple of staff that were helpful and pleasant. I hope they get better jobs with a better company. I am done and back to Hilton or Best Western we go.

Too many things to mention but was told this was a 3/5 star hotel, one of only a few in the area. It's not a nice hotel, not for the $ we paid, Not for any $. I'm sure it's fine if you're traveling and need a place to lay your head for 7-8 hours but at no point were we comfortable here. Every surface seemed dirty.

Never again. I travel for work and I've stayed here frequently for about five years. It used to be a nice hotel. In the last few years there has been a steady decline to the point where it's no longer an option for me. Upon check in this week, the receptionist wouldn't bother to apply my IHG points because "there are a lot of people waiting in line". It takes about 20 seconds, but ok. You have a paying guest right in front of you, maybe you should take care of him. Get to my room and the key doesn't work so back to the lobby I go with my luggage in tow. This is a daily occurrence. 12: 30 at night someone comes right into my room. Apparently Patrick at the front desk gave someone a key. Five minutes later Patrick calls my room berating me for being in my room. So off to the front desk I go to speak with Patrick. No apology, just gave me attitude and acted like I was a trespasser. Went back to my room and the key didn't work. All this for a dank room with stained carpets and furniture and a lumpy bed. Stained walls, cobwebs. Someone was smoking weed outside and the smoke was coming in through the air conditioner filling the room with that horrible odor. The carpets in the corridors are stained as well as the walls. It's sad to see this place fall into such a state.
Edit.on one of the days that I had to get my key "fixed", the girl at the front desk just made a new key without even asking for my name or to provide I. D. All she asked for was the room number. I could have been a predator getting anyone's room key. Very dangerous practice.

Needed a hotel in an emergency and they had a room at a decent price. What more can I say?

There are signs up that a renovation is in progress which I do think this particular Holiday Inn Express needs. Felt a bit worn down. But the location is close to Albany Airport and about 30 min from Saratoga so there is that. Probably a bit pricey for the quality but hey it is what it is. In short not my favorite Holiday Inn Express but it will do.

Blood covered furniture. My room was super grimey. The rug felt wet, every single towel was damp. Mold and mildew all over the shower, every piece of furniture was covered in stains, every surface was sticky.

Worst of all was the armchair being covered in BLOOD stains. I’d rather sleep in my car than this place again.

Sheila D was amazing to our group during a stay last weekend. We needed a place to have some team events and Sheila allowed us to use some of the business conference rooms that were otherwise vacant and wasted space. Always smiling and helpful Sheila went out of her way to allow our team a great experience.

This is our go-to hotel whenever visiting family in the area. We stay here twice a year. Rooms are always comfortable and the staff is super friendly. The blonde-haired lady (I wish I could remember her name) is an outstanding worker and went out of her way for everyone every day! She runs circles around the breakfast area to make sure everyone is taken care of and everything is stocked. Everyone makes us feel welcomed and wishes us safe travels on the way out!

The reason I'm not giving this hotel 5 stars is because the hot tub is greenish and smells like a guys locker room. The pool was great and clear/blue as a pool should be but that tub tub. The breakfast was fantastic and the lady working it was wonderful (she said she was new, but I couldn't tell). Same with the front counter. Heck even our shower in the hotel room was great. Not all hotels are. But that hot tub tho, can't be a 5 star with a pee tub for a hot tub.

If you do not use the hot tub, this hotel will be more than great for you.

Rooms very far apart. We booked 2 suites. But they were ok. Carpet very wet in one of our suites. Not sure why.

Food trays left in hallways never picked up in 2 days that weren't even ours at check-in. Still there when we left. When we saw staff in & out of hallway multiple times.
Breakfast mediocre. First time we've ever seen a tip jar out at a free breakfast. Breakfast area Felt very cafetria like not very homey atmosphere like other hotels we've stayed.
Very loud music all night in suite next to ours.
A lot of people smoking Marijuana inside rooms & outside hotel front door. You could smell it everywhere.
