Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ithaca, an IHG Hotel

Great location for accessibility to attractions. Everything is 10 min. On main road so bit weird. Clean rooms and great breakfast. Rooms don’t have black out blinds so wake with dawn! Free parking. Great indoor pool and nice enough gym. They need more towels and toilet rolls supply!

Room smelled like sweaty gym, bathroom door was stuck and was hard to open and close and made a lot of noise- had to use the bathroom with the door open in the middle of the night. Beds are comfortable. You have a choice of soft or firm pillow. Lighting was good. TV is small. Fridge has no freezer part. Didn't have soap and toilet paper. Booked for 4 people and had 3 towels. Size of the shower and water pressure was great.
Swimming pool was crowded but nice and warm.
Elevator has very distinctive smell.
Breakfast was so-so. Lady who supports guests in the breakfast area is a bit rude.
Parking spots were so narrow- slightly wider than cars- so if you have luggage or child seats in the back, you will have a problem.
Has shops and restaurants nearby- loud but convenient.

Nice place. Breakfast was great. Rooms were clean, but did have spiderweb's in each corner of the room.

A dispiriting hotel. Bleak, dim rooms, some with dirty carpets. Heating units that sound like a piece of heavy machinery. Close it, fix it up, raise the rates and set standards for staff and pay them accordingly.

Sandy, the morning breakfast coordinator, was a ray of sunshine. Each morning she greeted us with a smile and a gracious professional demeanor. She was very attentive to a fresh breakfast selection. Looked forward to seeing her each day of our stay.

Good hotel with great location. Service was good. Our room was good and clean. Only our bed was making lot of noise. Also our ac unit was making noise too. Breakfast was good.

It is a nice hotel, beds are soooo comfortable, clean everything you might need and a fantastic included contenental breakfast! The cons are that you only get 9 hours for one night and it is very expensive!

The room is clean and accommodating. A/C was a little noisy. But not affecting our stay. The best part of the stay was Sandie, who was ultra attentive; she asked everyone how their trip went, and kept the tables super clean for all the guest they had that morning! We had a long talk with her and asked about the local livings. And after it, she was still was able to perform efficiently!

Most expensive stay in a hotel on an 18 day trip to out west and back to new York. Dont know why. Theres nothing in Ithaca stayed in Hampton inns and 4three other holiday inn Express the rest quality inn etc.other hotels $317.55 one night one person. Breakfast packed with people 9/16/22 definitely nothing special about room

I asked for a 1st floor room for a convention mom and I were attending I called in august to make sure we could get a 1st floor room my mom and I have mobility issues and I told the person that she said she could get us on the 1st floor when I got there they put us on the 3rd floor I had 2 leave my convention early because of being on that floor and had 2 push mom in a wheelchair while I was in a leg cast and for 24 hours we did not have a flushing toliet very disappointed with the hotel

Sandie cooked an awesome breakfast both days.
I'll definitely stay here again.

Holiday Inn Express in Ithaca, NY was an excellent place to stay while visiting wineries at the Finger Lakes. It is situated between Cayuga Lake and Seneca Lake and was very convenient for day trips to either side of the lakes. The room was very clean and fresh. The bed is high, so if you have hip problems, ask for a lower style. It was very quiet. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts are fine for continental. We would definitely go back.

Update 8/31/22:

This was our first trip back to the Finger Lakes since this post.

The pandemic has certainly had an effect on this hotel. We found a coffee stirrer and crumbs on the floor. The air conditioning unit was not controlled by the thermostat. The noise was so loud that I spoke to the front desk woman. She explained that they had waited 4 months for new units and the units had arrived that day, but there was no one to watch the desk, so she couldn't let them in the rooms. We ended up turning it off completely just to get some quiet.

My question would be: why did she place us in a room with a loud air conditioner? It seemed like there were many empty rooms.
Also, a large group of young people were given rooms near us and above us, and very loud feet were pounding for several hours.
The shower has odd stains along the bottom.

The beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was very good, but without some maintenance efforts and better cleaning, I would pick another hotel.

Great location. Lovely staff. We requested a crib.it's not a playpen. My daughter loved that. Room is spacious. Just okay breakfast. No room service if you don't ask. I will say better than my expectation given the price. But it certainly can be improved.

The place was clean and, though there was usually no one at the front desk and I had to wait several minutes every time I needed help, the facility itself was generally not bad. However, The bed was pretty uncomfortable and had a creepy divot in the middle, meaning that the mattress is really old. All the dispensers in the bathroom (shampoo, conditioner, body wash) were empty. There was no bar soap. There was no coffee. And, worst of all, the internet was incredibly unreliable. It went down every hour or so, and was unavailable for 10 to 15 minutes each time. I contacted the front desk, and they referred me to a central IT service, which I interacted with twice, but without any change. Basically, if you need internet access, don't stay here.

The hotel is on a very busy road and RIGHT ON the road - about a 15 foot setback. So lots of noise from that - the rooms are not well soundproofed. And the a/c unit was so LOUD that I ha to decide - loud and cool or quieter and hot - on a hot summer evening. I booked this last minute and was persuaded by the rating but I don't understand who would rate this place 4 stars or above. Maybe people who don't get out much.

We booked a room at the Ithaca Holiday Inn express for Saturday, August 13 and checking out on Monday, August 15. We requested a wheelchair accessible room with grab bars. I have progressive multiple sclerosis and I am a functioning quadriplegic. I cannot stand or move unassisted. Grab bars are in excessively for me. When my husband booked the room the gentleman he spoke to told him that it was hearing accessible but it also had grab bars in the bathroom. When we checked in on Saturday at 5: 30 PM we discovered that the room did not have any grab bars at all. That makes it impossible for me to use the bathroom. We went down to speak to the woman at the front desk. She told us that there was nothing she could do for us because they had blocked a bag of rooms for a wedding party and they had no other room in which to put me. I told her it would be impossible for me to use the bathroom without grab bars. She told me I could speak to the manager I would not be in until Sunday morning. We were able to luckily find another hotel that was wheelchair accessible. When we went back to the front desk to say that we needed to leave because the room was impossible for me to use physically and we did not expect to be charged because they could not accommodate my disability even though they told me that they could. The woman behind the desk said she could not do anything about the charges and I would have to wait to speak to a manager the next day. We were moving my son to his dorm the next day and I found accommodations elsewhere so I did not go back. When I returned home from Ithaca we called the hotel and the woman I spoke to said SHE could not do anything for me because the manager was not in and the manager only works from 11 PM until 7 AM.being physically disabled is hard enough having to deal with the lack of professionalism and compassion that was shown by these employees is disheartening at the least. The two women I spoke to were apathetic at best and they truly did not care about the humiliation I encountered. No one was interested in trying to help accommodate me. I would give this zero stars if I could. Awful experience!
