Honest John's Pizzeria Second St reviews
18Service was alittle slow but i understood why. All the orders were all messed up. But she was so nice and always smiled through the whole thing.
Mashed potatoes were dried out, pizza kinda blah and not hot. Best thing were the sugar cinnamon donut holes.
Ended up spending fifty dollars for deal advertised for 32.99. Then they billed my card an extra 10 dollars (I called complaining and got the ten put back on). So 60 bucks for double play meal. Never again.
Just not good pizza. Maybe I'm used to the pizza in Buffalo, but this was pretty bad!
Asked for light sauce and there was NO sauce, pineapples on half and they were not chunks but a sprinkling of tiny bits, barely there. Asked for double cheese and again there was hardly any cheese let alone double!
We were too far away or I would have brought it back. Definitely not a good pizza.
Too pricey when you can go to pizza express and get better quality for far cheaper. 80.90 for a large pizza and 50 wings at honest johns which means if they are charging a $1 a wing means your paying 30 dollars for a large pizza
The buffet was ok. Only 1 waitress getting orders an answering phone cashing out take out orders. She couldn't focus on people in the restaurant. Rating would be better if more than 1 employee running the dining room
I give honest johns 5 out of 5 stars because it’s a great small business. But one thing I would recommend as a business college student. The apple pie pizza … let’s talk about it in terms of a SWOT analysis. So right now the pizza isn’t selling well and instead of doing a SWOT analysis on the pizza and making it better to bring in more revenue they’re just giving it away until they run out and it’s bye bye pizza. Let’s start with the S which is for strengths … the pizza is great and super delicious but W which is for weaknesses, the pizza is dry. O for opportunity, y’all could use the apples you already have and make a juicy base out of it, not spending anymore money on it and making more profit. T which is for threat. The threat being missing out on a great opportunity to make some more money. I’m turn, I think you guys should just make an apple based sauce for the pizza because the pizza is super delicious, just dry. All in all it’s a great business opportunity that’s being spoiled right now. Especially with fall coming in, you could even use a generic- business strategy by investing in some apple cider and give away a free 1/2 gallon of cider whenever you buy 5 or more of the apple pie pizzas. Get punch cards and when they punch enough give ‘em a free apple cider 1/2 gallon. Just what I’d personally do, but that’s just me.
Ordered the deal and was pleased with the amount we received for our purchase just confused why the sauce tasted the way it did. I feel flavor of sauce is old, bad, open to long. But was hoping for a real taste difference it tasted not so good
Ordered at 11: 00 am for 24 + people for 2: 00 pm it was late, never got my blue cheese lover dipp which was charged for, I love the place eating there for years never no problem
Just got my wing's. Love that you guys never skimp on the extra sauce! Been my favorite place for pizza and wings for 30 year's!
Wasn't greeted. Sat ourself. Grabbed silverware off the next table. No wings in buffet for over 20 min n same with pizza! Won't be coming back
First time to enjoy the wings at Honesty John's. My inlaws eat here on a regular basis with the waitress recognizing them. We had the buffet with included the pizza, Buffalo wings, pasta, etc, and a separate salad bar. The pizza had nice flavor and there were two different type crusts. The thicker crust had a bit more crunch and was my favorite. The wings were the real star. Not all hot wings are cooked with respect. These were crispy yet not over done and had a balanced sauce with a medium heat. There were several other dishes, a pasta, a rice, baked chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, also on the buffet. The blue cheese dressing was good and chunky and the ranch dressing is house made with a nice dill flavor. I'll plan to return on my next trip. There is a second location in Lakewood and I'm told the quality is very good there too.
P. S. A small after meal ice cream sundae is offered and was a sweet way to finish our meal.
My husband and I decided to try Honest John’s for a bite to eat. What a delightful treat. Lovely Jenna was our server. She was kind and attentive. We enjoyed the spaghetti and meatballs with the salad bar. It was honestly (see what I did there?) delicious. We will absolutely be back and highly recommend others pay a visit. You won’t be sorry.
Our favorite place to go as a family. The staff is always so friendly and personable. It feels like we're just going to a friend's for dinner. We love honest John's and will always stand behind and support this amazing local business we're lucky to have!
This was the Honest Johns down near the college. The food tasted terrible, the dough was super thin and cold. We had gotten the buffet and I understand that food can cool down on a buffet, but this was cold and greasy and gross. Service was fantastic, but food sucked.
Stopped in for take out buffet, was running late but starving. Clean, stocked, reasonably priced, small buffet. The counter lady was very friendly and helpful, a real asset to this restaurant. Big thumbs-up!
Pizza crust is nasty, pizza sauce has absolutely no taste to it. If you want to be honest then make your
pizza hand tossed, not that pre-baked frozen pizza crust! A pinch of seasoning to your sauce wouldn't hurt either!
Will never coming back a again because I heard a lot of screaming at the back when a employee got out I went up to him and said I he was alright he said no and left so I just went up to the corner to pay and left. (Poor Dude)
