Hortus NYC

The food was delicious! We had the eggplant, cod and seafood starter, king crab pasta, and it was so wonderful. The desert was underwhelming and the atmosphere was lacking a bit alone on the mid-floor section we were on. Overall the food outside of the dessert was very amazing.

Convenient location for after work get together. Love the chic interior. Food and cocktails were also delicious. Pear affair cocktail, not too sweet, the ultimate compliment.
The pasta was the one item that failed to impress. Nothing special to me. The truffle with Short rib was a unami flavor bomb. So good!

The ambiance is impeccable, the oysters are delightfully fresh, and the truffle donabe is incredibly delicious. Furthermore, the steak is cooked to perfection

Everything was well made, I loved the flat pasta and the short rib. The PannaCota was delicious.

Although I haven't had their full menu, yet the food was well prepared with pleasing results in taste. The service was very attentive to assure choice in menu and time. Yes, the restaurant has dark decor. But I'm going on exclusivity, due to the number of attending guests for the dinner portion, which was in great number. Those who know about this place share the location among people in peaceful circles. I'm looking forward to returning to taste what their menu has to offer.

Would have been an amazing experience! Brought my friend from overseas here for a delicious dinner. We thought we would be fine dining with delicious drinks but… The waitress was trying to kick us out 10pm even though it closes at 10: 30. Mind you we arrived at 9: 15pm. She kept reminding us what time they close, wouldn’t check on us to see if we needed anything, and gave soo much attitude when we asked for a last glass of wine.

She said, “we close soon, no last call but it’s over. ” But never told us when the last call was and was extremely rude. She kept trying to kick us out during our meal and honestly i feel like i have an upset stomach after. She Kept coming by at 10: 10 to remind us “We are closing 10: 30. ” Every five minutes. I am honestly upset and ruined our entire night out. I am really embarrassed that my friend from overseas had to see what America was like. Trash. Embarrassing. Over $250 and I’m ashamed.

The ambiance, food and service are top tier. The dishes speak to why they have a Michelin star.

I've absolutely loved the times I've dined at Hortus and eagerly look forward to future visits. The dishes are not only beautifully presented but so flavorful, delicious, and well balanced. From the fresh seafood in the Royal Platter to the tender ribeye and delicate matcha tiramisu, you cannot go wrong. The atmosphere of Hortus is chic and service is professional/friendly and makes you feel valued; I'd highly recommend!

A very good and creative experience. We tried many appetizers and a couple of mains, everything was good to very good. The Hamachi was my favorite! The drinks were also very interesting and flavorful. If you are looking for something different, with nothing too wild or "over the top", I recommend Hortus (they have an exceptional staff too!)

An upscale double level Asian fusion restaurant bringing best dishes from multiple cuisines. Have a nice glasses backyard area. Started with salmon hors d'oeures in small cones. The pastas were well cooked and sauces flavorful. Ribs really hit the spot, fish was a bit standalone next to the veggies. Truffle roes on rice hmmm. Finally the matcha ice cream desserts finished a well meal.

We ordered for delivery. So delicious and well prepared. In lesson than hours delivered to our hotel. For each person, a well prepared box with salad, shishito peppers, appetizer and entree. Everything was amazing. So worth it.

The food for lunch was good there weren't any vegan options but the restaurant made me a rice and mushroom dish. There were no vegan sides. I messed up and ordered fish by mistake but they did not charge me for that dish. My friend who has the alcoholic drinks said they could have been better.

Exceptional service! I like my ribeye well done but not burnt. This is the first restaurant to get exactly what I needed and how I liked it. I was very impressed. The food was so great that I had to order again to take home. If you are thinking of a restaurant to try in New York. This is the place!

Great service. Fresh ingredients. Unique twist on mixing flavors. Fish was good quality

King crab pasta was a highlight

Highly recommend the truffle donabe with short rib and the fluke crudo. The cauliflower also had awesome flavor and the crispy rice tuna with wasabi cream was delicious.

Supposedly they had a Michelin star so I was really excited to try this place. While it was a good meal, it isn’t quite a Michelin star experience. The service was mediocre. Maybe it’s because we were in the outdoor part but I feel like they weren’t as attentive as they could have been.

As for the food, the pasta was cheesy but I couldn’t quite taste all the flavors described on then menu that it would have. The ribs dish didn’t have much meat and wasn’t as juicy as I would’ve hoped for. The best dish was the urchin donabe dish by far. I would come back for that.

The flavors from this modern Asian fusion restaurant are unrivaled. Everything we ordered was delicious. The seasonal fish was ridiculous.

Excellent restaurant, we had the 2 course prix fixe with wine pairing, truffle donabe was so tasty, and so was the seasonal fish. We always come here when we visit NYC.
