House of Wellness reviews
21A great, rejuvenating experience of a massage. Booking was easy and the questionnaire was really thorough. Fernando was amazing. It was the perfect balance of communication (which made me feel so comfortable with the experience) and relaxing quiet. I really felt like he cared about tailoring the massage to my needs.
I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a massage session with Jacob. He's a true healer.
Had an incredible massage from Fernando - I’ve been raving about it to all of my friends! Highly highly recommend
I had a massage with Apple last month and it was just what I needed. The space is cozy, clean, and warm. Definitely a hidden gem in Astoria.
I really love this place in Astoria.
As a retired athlete (from soccer) with 3 knee injuries/ surgeries, I came here 1-2 times a month to keep myself flexible.
I typically see Sydney but there are a suite of amazing practitioners here.
It’s a calm environment so you’ll forget you’re near the train. Honestly I knock out every time.
They have a strict cancellation policy, so just don’t cancel.
Wonderful experience. Apple was amazing. I really appreciated the time she took to ask questions on what my needs, health challenges were before the massage. She had suggestions and was very knowledgable. Her technique and amount of pressure applied was perfect. I will be returning.
My coworker referred me to House of Wellness since she also has chronic back pain. I called on Wednesday afternoon and had an appointment the next day with Kat. She was amazing, listened to me and walked me through each part of the massage to alleviate my sciatica pain. The room was spacious, clean and had a great ambiance. I will definitely be going back.
Really nice place.im totally recommending, please ask for Peter he is very professional and warm and great human, i had a peaceful and great session of massage thank you so much! Ask for Peter!
I went in for a reiki session and Danielle made me feel at ease and comfortable to open up with. I thoroughly enjoyed the reiki session and the messages I received. She was warm, wise, and very kind. Thank you, Danielle!
I've only been once (so far), but the experience was fantastic and will definitely be going back soon. Jacob was the one who worked on me and he was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. I came in suffering from intense back spasms and walked out feeling as if they disappeared almost entirely!
Apple is a wonderful massage therapist, and the customer service is efficient and friendly. I’m glad I made an appointment.
The place was clean and comfortable and everything about it was professional. I had a massage with Sydney and it not only felt good in the moment, but also had a lasting effect. Recommend!
Highly recommend Fernando for a Prenatal Massage
I felt fully refreshed and relaxed during my prenatal massage session. The receptionist was very welcoming. I love the ambiance of the room, the lighting and music is soothing and I felt comfortable all through out the time. Fernando is super professional, knowledgeable and creates a friendly atmosphere. He focused on the areas I specified and my body feels great. During the session, he made sure to ask how I’m feeling. After my massage, he suggested prenatal exercises to prepare me for delivery. Thank you so very much Fernando and house of wellness!
Awful experience from beginning to end; if they let me give 0 stars, I would. I made an appointment for a massage as I was in a lot of pain from both a herniated disc and sciatica flare up. It should have been very straightforward and clear that I needed a therapeutic massage to release the tension, soreness, and pain in my body.
When I made the appointment, I was told the session would be $130 with a $25 deposit but I figured that meant I would have a high quality experience. I definitely did not. When I first walked in, the receptionist was on the phone and did not greet me, check me in, answer any questions, or complete any other part of client welcome as a receptionist. She was dismissive and rude.
Eric, the masseuse, was the one who greeted me and checked me in, and pointed me to the bathroom. That was the only positive part of my experience with him. I explained the issues I was having, pointed out where the pain and tension was, and even named specifically what I was looking for. I was very clear.
Instead of a therapeutic massage for my muscles and nerves, I got some woowoo made up thing. I kept waiting for the therapeutic part of the massage and it never came. When I asked him to explain what he had spent the entire session doing, his response was that it was a massage that he made up, that was meant to "unblock my energy because you tend to avoid the pain and it blocks the energy". Again, I was very clear about what I was there for and what I needed.
When the receptionist asked me if I liked my experience, I was very honest and said I did not. Erik stepped out and tried to explain what he provided, to which I said I wouldn't argue with him, it was very clear that what he gave me was not what I needed or was looking for. The receptionist had the nerve to say that not every massage therapist was a good fit for everybody.
I paid $130 to leave the place in MORE pain than I was when I arrived. Their solution to charging me for a service I definitely didn't receive was to offer me a discounted session with another therapist. If a customer comes in for a specific service and you give them something completely different, the right thing to do is offer a refund, not a discount. I will not be going back ever again.
Would highly recommend house of wellness to anyone looking to get a massage. Everyone I’ve dealt with has been extremely friendly and welcoming and Sydney gives an amazing massage
I had an incredible experience at House of wellness. Fernando was very professional, he quickly identified the pain areas and helped release all the stress accumulated.
Great experience! I will come back.
My 60min prenatal massage with Fernando was amazing! Focus was placed on the areas I specified and he was sure to check in on how I was feeling during the massage. Afterward, I immediately felt more loose/relaxed overall, but I didn’t notice until walking home that my feet, lower back, and hips didn’t ache at all!
Fernando was also informative about changes that happen to your body during pregnancy and suggested a prenatal exercise to help prepare for labor.
I didn’t catch the name of the woman at the front desk, but she was kind and welcoming.
Overall, a great experience and I will be back!
I got a great massage from Jacob at House of Wellness! I woke up with pain in my neck and they were able to get me an appointment on the same day. The place is clean and serene, and I even got some tips from Jacob on stretches and how to sit properly at my desk to prevent future pain. The receptionist was also very nice and welcoming. Will definitely be back!
House of Wellness is great! Have gone for both regular and prenatal massages and highly recommend it.
I spent an incredible hour at House of Wellness. My deep pressure massage was perfect and targeted on my trigger points. I work on my feet more than 10 hours a day and I really needed that kind of care. The atmosphere is very peaceful and the staff is extremely nice. I’ll definitely come back for an other massage. Thank you again
