Happy Thanksgiving19.

This HSBC Bank on the corner of Canal & The Bowery is most definitely from the era of yesterday many folds. The building sits at the foot of the Manhattan Bridge.

The building is a work of art, both inside and out. The building has a dome for a ceiling, and it lets the sunshine in the building lobby through the ceiling. The lobby is grand and exquisite to say the least, and I am taken aback every time I visit the branch.

I have observed the banking operations of this branch, and there are some good, and there are some bad aspects. That is to be expected from any business.

I had accompanied a friend and his wife to open an account at this branch, and it too over an hour plus to finalize the paperwork. That Bank Office was iquite slow.

The tellers are another story. They were professional, courtesy and most definitely friendly. They understood what you are requesting, then they inform you what is necessary for the transaction, and they execute with efficiency.

Love the building. Wheb in Chinatown, do make a pit stop at the corner of Canal & Bowery.

I filled out all the necessary information and show them my ID to withdraw cash under MY account with my name. And they denied me saying I have to do it online. Okay. How the hell do I withdraw cash online?
I have withdrew my money before at a different branch and I didn't have a problem. I just don't understand.

Worst bank ever. Do not change currency with them. They gave me $1 $3. $7 denomination for $300 us dollars. So I end up with lots of small bill to carry to Hong Kong. When I ask them to change some of the small bill to bigger bill such as $15. They told me in a lot of technical word such as foreign exchange etc. Etc. We do not have money here. Basically the manager said I will have to sell them back the money and they will sell it back to me in larger denomination. I will have have to lose money in the process. Listen HSBC. I did not ask for $1 $3 and $7 denomination. You did not ask what the customer wants and give them all small bills
Who would carry $300 in $1. $3. $7 Bill. Are you out of your mind. I agreed with previous post the bank teller is very rude. They shout back at you with banking technical lingo. Very insulting. Stay away from this bank
They do not care about their customer.

If you really need to open a checking account, simply go to their website and apply there online. Account processing is as long as 45 mins, being asked a lot of questions that's not related. Why would I have to give them my work phone number?

STAY AWAY, EXTREMELY RUDE BANK TELLERS FROM THIS BRANCH. This is the first and the only HSBC branch that refused me for asking quarter wrappers even I am an account holder. They told me to go to a nearest 99 cents store to buy them. I ended up going to the Chase bank on the same street, and they were more than happy to give out quarter wrappers even I don't have an Chase account. So again, STAY AWAY if you don't want your day to be ruined by mean human beings.

Probably the worst run bank I have ever seen. They are located in a very traffic and dense area. So it only makes sense that most customers do there banking during their lunch breaks. Makes even more sense that the bank would send ALL the tellers to lunch during that period.yeah! Sarcasm. I have tried on multiple occasions to pay my mortgage during my lunch and find 12-15 people on line and only 1 teller working. ABSOLUTELY the worst managed bank if you only have lunch break to get things done.

I opened a premier account with this operation. Got the 1st degree as to why I wanted to open an account. Branches have lousy hours. Not open Saturdays. Services sucks. Interest rates sucks. Why am I here? Closing account.

Very poor service. I have been the customer of HSBC for more than 30 years. This is the worst branch I have come across.

Worst bank EVER. Seems like you speak with dumb people. Dishonest about the terms and conditions of opening/closing account. Runaway!
