This is a tough review to write as I visited on a weekday when they aren't open, aren't closed, but more of a "not closed" status.

I feel like it isn't their fault, and is more of the fault of the open/closed mentality of maps.

If you want to walk, go whenever you can, the open/closed works. Aside from that, plan better. Probably on their website and don't trust maps business hours only.

That being said, when approached by staff, I would say that their friendliness and understanding wasn't top notch and seemed more annoyed I was there and unaware that most of their spaces are weekends only.

When I return when they are more open, I will update this review, I assume the experience will be more pleasurable.

The staff at the museum are amazing! We had a great time with my 2 year old niece. Grasshopper grove is also awesome and so much fun to let the kids explore and play

This place is a gem. We are members even though we live in NYC-my kids love it and we combine a visit to Blooming Hill Farm (nearby in Washingtonville) or Jones Farm (right across the street) with Grasshopper Grove for a perfect day out and about. In addition to the play area and the beautiful trails we love the events-maple sugar workshop, the overnight camping trip, the Halloween event.

My daughter went on her first field trip there she told me she loved catching bugs in the pond with her class. (she caught a baby dragonfly!) She also said she really liked grasshopper grove. I can tell it was lots of fun!

Great place for a short nice hike but you really need to do something about your road leading to the parking lot. It's terrible. Too many potholes.
