This is truly a challenging trail. The reward however is worth it. Amazing view, and watching cargo trains wrap around a mountain on the other side.birds calls and more.priceless! The 'one way' up the rock trail is severe, daunting, challenging and exhilarating. Elevation of ~650ft.

If you enjoy difficult hikes and stunning views, this is the park for you to visit. It's one of my favorites on the east coast, between the difficult climb up Breakneck Ridge to the stunning views of the Hudson to the secluded woods once you get to the top of Breakneck.

If you get the chance, definitely head into Cold Spring for a bite and some beer after your hike. The historic town has a magical charm. Keep in mind, if you head the Hudson Highlands for the stunning fall foliage, you can expect swarms of people wandering the community. I like it when it's more quiet at other points in the year.

Did the long loop on New Year's Day 2023! 50° and sunny! What a beautiful day for January.we could see all the way to the city. Doesn't get much better than this!

Absolutely amazing experience. Especially once you reach the summit, you can see a vast expanse of trees and rivers for miles

I loved the fact that it's literally a hour and a half away from nyc by car or by train

Beautiful hike on the Little Stony Point trail. Parked across the street which takes you on a hike for 2-3 hours. Great markings showing the path. Beware of ticks!

A lot of trails with a lot of options. It does get packed. Parking is limited. Did the cornish estates and the washburn trail. It began to snow and was really peaceful. Lots of small water features, lots of over looks overlooking the Hudson. Trails are clear well maintained and well traveled.

A fabulous destination to see the Hudson Valley from a bird eyes view (and the NYC landscape on a clear day) in all seasons and colours. The look out tower is an art deco building that has information relating to the area hanging from its walls.

It is a beautiful park in the heart of Cold Spring, overlooking the Hudson River, you can find information about the trail and you can guide yourself with it, keep in mind that it is a slope with an intermediate degree of difficulty, so your training is important but not decisive. There are two routes to consider, 2 or 4 hours. Based on your available time, we arrived at 11am, so we opted for the two-hour one. Beautiful views and spectacular trekking. Recommended.

The south side is very snowy. Plan a head and dress accordingly. It's a pretty tough hike but the trails are marked clearly. We went with 2 dogs and we had to retreat and never finished the loop due to snow. As we retreated we bumped into mud which we didn't account for either. The hike is not very flat either.

Great hike! Moderate to intermediate rating is fair. Highly recommend hiking boots for ankle support on the rocky terrain further up the trail. Well marked trails.

Great place to hike. Various levels of paths available. The hike to the top is most definitely worth it. The view is breathtaking - on a good day you can see from the Catskills to NYC.

This is a great hiking spot! It's nice to go with friends or family and it's soooooo beautiful and worth it so endure and make it to the top for some legit pictures! You'll have a great time, but don't take my word for it. Go see yourself!

It's an unbelievably cool place.

If you can hike by Washburn Trail you will not be disappointed. It is not easy but the view is stunning.   I just hiked less than half the length of the trail and was very happy with the view and peaceful environment.

Pretty easy to access from Cold Spring train station if you come by train.

I will definitely come back and will spend more time there.

Started out my hike in the village of Nelsonville on the Undercliff trail which is pretty moderate with slight elevation increases. Near the junction of the Washburn Trail I was rewarded with nice views of the Cold Spring, the Hudson River, Storm King mountain, and West Point.
