Hummus Bar reviews
15If I had to describe the taste of the shawarma in one word it would be AMAZING! This place offers perfectly spiced soft tender beef and lamb sliced and stuffed into in to a pita bread with fresh and tasty salads added inside as you wish. Eddie who prepares the exceptional food is an absolute master at his craft. Sometimes the place can be a little cleaner but the shawarma is so good they are still getting 5 stars from me. They offer other foods including a turkey shawarma or falafel but ever since trying the beef and lamb I cannot deviate and always come back for it!
Unfortunately a huge disappointment from start to finish for all who love real Israeli cuisine and atmosphere. The unfriendly young man behind the counter misunderstood our order and added extra items increasing the bill. Needless to say it’s also super expensive here, especially for a place that doesn’t have real plates or silverware. Portions were small: Schwarma dry, room temperature, and flavorless. Hummus itself is fine but nothing special. Pita is okay though. Otherwise it’s pretty dirty in there, they don’t change overflowing trash etc.
The most absurd part of the evening came when an elderly Israeli man entered and asked for a pita with hummus in it (which you could get in Israeli at any place like this). The cashier refused to sell one to him claiming it’s not on the menu, but a real humus place should offer this.
Essentially this place lacks good food and the warm Israeli hospitality. Would never go back.
One of the best places for Kosher Beef & Lamb Shawarma in Brooklyn! The rice bowl is a great deal, as it is super filling and comes with two pitas!
Cozy store with a chill vibe.
The food is delicious, falafel, sabich, shawarma. I love the sauces and toppings.
Prices and service are great as well.
Amazing Shawarma Turkey!
One of the best Kosher places in Brooklyn.
Thank you
Beef / lamb mix shawarma like no other in the area, however they run out by 9pm even though they’re open for another hour.
Very nice place for lunch,
We took a beef lamb laffa, was delicious!
Shakshuka and hummus platter very good
Nice service.
Recommend this place
Recommend taking the Shuvarma in pita, very tasty and freash. This visit didn't love the falafel as the inside is green.
Severe stomach ache after eating a falafel sandwich last night. STAY AWAY. I didn’t eat anything else besides that Falafel sandwich. Can’t take the pain. Ended up in the hospital with food poisoning
I come here all the time and the shawarma is the best and cant forget the nice workers
Just go!
I really, really liked the warm pita here, and I also very much like that outdoor seating is still available. The hummus was adequate but I don't think I liked it as much as the pita; I think I tend to prefer hummus that has more garlic perhaps. I would definitely go again!
Come here every week at this point - best shawarma in town it’s different than what every other spot serves. Very nice inside as well.
Definitely the best place for Israeli food in Brooklyn
Definitely the best place for Israeli food that is also aesthetic and clean
Great shawarma among the tastings in a bit expensive area but worth the price. Everything is fresh and clean
