Hyatt Centric Times Square New York

Premium location. Due to an error in the reservation, we had a lot of exchanges with the front desk staff. Kindness and presence 100% trying to solve the problem.

Four night stay. We had to switch rooms around 1-2AM because of lock issues.
I just don’t understand service here, because interpersonal skills don’t seem like a strong suit.

One of the night employees was pretty accusatory about us getting locked out. “Are you SuRe you didn’t activate the lock inside? ” *multiple times* He laid off when my mom asked to check the camera.

The engineer comes in, clearly not briefed on the situation, and basically says the same thing. We’re already tired and frustrated, and we never use the lock because… why would we? Does it matter? The issue is the same: we’re locked out (they worked on it prior to our stay).

At checkout, my mom was trying to sort out all the key cards (new room, old room) from her credit cards, but the lady at the front desk snatched the stack out of her hands to toss into the keycard bin. Mom went off, and lady tries to argue with her, with a flimsy apology. Yikes.

Fantastic location, clean spacious rooms and absolutely attentive and helpful staff. If I could give more than 5 stars I definitely would!

We have been enjoying our stay here so far. Great if you’re looking to be near the theater district (I am)
There really isn’t much of a lobby but it’s a nice hotel in a AWESOME location.

Excellent hotel! I requested early check-in and the room was ready very early, like 10am instead of the standard 4pm check-in time. The check-in & out process was so easy online. The rooms are modern, luxurious, and super clean. The cleaning lady Amy was the absolute best. They always answer the phone quickly and answer any questions, you can even text them instead of calling. They have microwaves available upon request if you need one. The rooms are a good size compared to other hotels nearby. The location is great! The windows in the room can open a little, which is rare. Would definitely come back again, however do NOT go to the rooftop bar. I rated that separately.

Great customer service! It rained a couple of days they had complimentary umbrellas. Are cleaning lady was one of the best I've ever seen in the hotel business very attentive.

You cannot beat the location. Steps away from time square, but on a relatively quiet street. Not much hotel amenities, room is basic (but clean). What you pay for is the location and convenience.

This is a nice hotel and we enjoyed our stay. I would have liked bathrobes in the room and the option for all day room service and not just breakfast; this is the reasoning for 4/5 stars. I did enjoy the fast elevators and nice little shop in the lobby. The staff was also very friendly. Would recommend!

We dont even arrive until the end of November and this hotel has already shown that they don't know the first thing about customer service. I should have stayed elsewhere but unfortunately for me I made the mistake of paying up front. What a mistake that was.

My wife and I stayed at Hyatt Centric Times Square for seven days during our recent trip to New York. The hotel is located just a stone's throw away from the famous Time Square. The rooms are nice and good size with a comfy mattress. It's a 4-star hotel but does not feel like it. It lacks almost everything that you expect from a four-star hotel. The hotel only serves breakfast, no lunch or dinner. The bar is located on the 54th floor with a limited light snack and drinks menu. I was meeting a couple of friends for drinks in the evening and decided to go to the bar to check the menu. What a mistake that was! The Indian male bar staff was rude and unprofessional when I told him I just wanted to check on the menu for later. After this horrible experience, I never returned to the bar again. Having stayed in Hyatt hotels across Europe and Asia previously, unfortunately, Hyatt Centric failed to live up to my expectation and the excellent service I received from Hyatt in the past. The reception staff seem unfriendly, unwelcoming and lack good customer service. Strangely on my 3rd day out of a seven-day stay, I received a phone call at 5.30 am from the hotel manager asking me if I was happy to release my holding deposit to clear my room tax and upgrade. I could not understand why he did not have the common sense or decency to wait until later. The only positive about the hotel for me was the housekeeping service. The housekeeping Chinese lady was outstanding. My final verdict is if you are looking for a good spacious room with a comfy bed in the city centre but with terrible customer service then this is the place. However, if you are looking for a hotel with good customer service, a positive atmosphere, and welcoming staff, I suggest you find another hotel. After this experience, I would not be returning to the Hyatt Centric again.

We were visiting NY to celebrate my mom’s Birthday.
Hotel stuff went above and beyond for us.
We reserved an early check in, the e room was ready at 11 am with balloons and a card from the hotel.
Our room was on the 51 floor with a wonderful view on the city and Times Square.
At the same time room was very quite, there was no outside noises, especially during the night.

Stuff treated us like a family.
Room was super clean.
Location is absolutely the best.
If you are planning to take red bus tour, your first stop will be 2 minutes walk.

Great location. Rooms OK for the price, but hotel has little in the way of amenities. Bar on 54th floor heavily promoted, but only when arriving do you discover it's over 21's only. No good for us as a family with a 17yr old. Not expecting him to have an alcoholic drink with us of course, but as he was excluded, that effectively excluded all of us. T45 Market on the ground floor is severely overpriced and if you only want a few drinks/snacks you'd do better walking to a nearby convenience store, or the Amazon Go at the Rockefeller Center. Hotel Staff polite and accommodating though.

Great hotel in a great location! We had a complicated check in as there was an booking issue with our rooms, however the rest of our stay was good. The rooms are very nice and we felt very safe and secure here.

Good hotel near Times Square. Lots of subway stations nearby. We had a large room on the 52nd floor with a great north facing view and a large bathroom with shower and bath.
Room service refilled the water supplies every day- great! There could have been more choice for tea.
The air conditioning was pleasantly quiet and the window could be opened a little.
The view from the rooftop bar on the 54th floor is cool, but the prices for the drinks are just as high.
There are many breakfast options in the area, so we didn't use the market in the hotel.

Love staying here when I see shows. Perfect location. Staff remembers my name after only seeing them once. Valet service was great. Rooms are ultra clean and they are happy to accomodate basically any request you might have. I always use points to book so I never get a "room with a view" but rarely do I care, don't spend much time there anyway.

Very nice place, near Times Square, but No free breakfast, this seemed odd, though paid breakfast and room service were there. No parking - free or paid

Had a great time on a trip to NYC with my family. Check in/out goes quickly and smoothly, rooms are top notch and clean, and the staff was super nice. Amy in housekeeping was incredible. We loved talking with her and appreciated the extra care she took to ensure we had a good experience. Definitely some street noise being so close to Times Square, but nothing beyond the expected. Would definitely return.

Right in the centre thr Hotel is. Good bed and large windows.extremely fast lifts.security at the entrance all the time for extra safety.
