Hyatt Herald Square New York reviews
15 We had a wonderful experience at the Hyatt Herald Square. The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff were accommodating and quick to help.
We took advantage of the central location to walk to great dinner and drink spots each night and enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly service at the fantastic rooftop bar.
This is the perfect hotel for a weekend getaway in New York, I highly recommend it!
Very clean hotel and wonderful staff. I can't say enough about the staff they are top notch and go above and beyond to make your stay a pheasant experience.
Definitely need to give this place their props cuz all in all this is a very good quality hotel. I disregarded previous reviews because the price and location for this hotel was exactly what I needed. The room is smallish but we were hardly ever there other than to rest up, shower, or sleep. The fitness center is also small but I was alone in there & got a great workout in. The bed and pillows in my room were very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and my room was cleaned excellently daily. The bar staff are very nice as well. Would definitely recommend as well as stay here again.
Excellent hotel for the location and price! Judy at reception was amazing for accommodations and service. Really enjoyed our stay.
I had an amazing experience here. The food in the Den and Rooftop was amazing. The Staff was nice. I had an amazing view of the Empire State Building.
Manager on duty, think her name was judy was unpleasant and not helpful. Room was clean and nice. Guy working the breakfast was very friendly and helpful.
** LATE REVIEW DUE TO MEDICAL REASONS! **
Based on my previous pleasant stay at Hyatt, I decided to come back to New York in March and bring my family to celebrate my husband's birthday.
The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was spacious and clean.
The staff were extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in early at like 10am. We got to hotel super early and I didn’t wanna wait. So this was a big plus. Thanks to Judy and Christina.
Judy is truly a GEM! It was such a treat to see her again and she AGAIN made our stay an unforgettable. She is very kind and would ask how our stay was going every time we walked in the door. Judy always recommended places to get any type of meal that we needed as well. She went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable.
I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Manhattan and will definitely go back there.
Lovely hotel, in a prime position for exploring the city. Felt really secure once inside. Negatively (or positively depending on your preference) once you walked outside you are greeted by the local drug dealers who hang out on the end corner - they asked once or twice if you would like anything but generally left us alone.
Our room was really nice and modern (we got upgraded - which was nice). The en suite was modern also, with a big walk in shower.
The rooftop area was really awesome, had great views. The rooftop bar wasn't open very frequently but you could easily get a drink at the ground floor and take it up. The bar staff and the wait staff were very friendly, as were reception. Would deffo recommend this hotel and would stay again.
Great location, clean rooms with modern furniture (with safe, coffeemaker, iron) but a noisy air-conditioning. Courteous, friendly, and very helpful staff (reception, bar/restaurant, housekeeping). Spacious rooftop terrace with a bar and an amazing view of the Empire State building.
I'm not too picky when it comes to hotels, but this has been a terrible experience. I'm mostly here for a place to sleep and shower. But avoid this Hyatt if you want a comfortable bed and warm running water.
We checked in only to find out our toilet doesn't work. After a maintenance request was put in, the toilet was fixed, but the shower doesn't turn on anymore (except when the sink is on which is crazy) and cannot provide hot water. I think functioning plumbing should be expected of a Hyatt.
Judy helped us the first night to provide a new room and complimentary breakfasts for the next morning for the inconvenience of having to repack and unpack again.
The new room provided had terrible beds, and my partner slept for a couple hours before waking up to awful back pain. I also am the type to sleep anywhere and felt sore myself. Again I would expect hotel beds, especially name brand like Hyatt, to have at least a minimum level of comfort.
We brought up the issue with the beds and the staff this morning said they would let us know when another room would be ready. (They said they would fix the plumbing in the original room and switch us back since the bed there seemed fine.) In the afternoon, I went down and another lady was working the desk. She said they only had a few rooms left and that she would not switch our rooms even though it was promised before. With a "not my problem" attitude, I was promptly dismissed. We have 4 nights here, and I'm absolutely frustrated with the facilities and services.
I highly recommend this hotel be avoided at all costs if you value your comfort, time, and sanity.
(Follow up l on the complementary breakfast: the breakfast didn't open until half hour past their opening time, and the stove was broken, so there was only cereal and cold cuts. Also the restaurant side is swarming with mosquitos which is also bizarre.)
Front desk clerks were amazing but unfortunately the room was dirty. The air conditioner stopped working. And don't eat at their restaurant. Terrible hotel. Don't let the "Hyatt" name fool you
Ugh front desk. Very rude. Someone should remind them that the water bottles cost less than 25 cents. They are super cheap about it and we paid close to $300 for this room!
Hotel was clean and modern. Rooms were cramped and the mattress wasn’t great but about what’s expected for a reasonable hotel in the city. Would stay here again.
Great value. Some of the only queen beds in nyc, that I could find. Great location and views. Staff was amazing.
Very well thought out room with everything you need. The rooms are extremely quiet which is good. Excellent service
