Hyatt Regency Long Island reviews
19 It is a 2 star hotel labeled as a 4 star. Don’t be fooled. I have stayed at nicer motels than this “regency. ” Rooms are old and musty. They drilled the windows and doors shut so there is no fresh air in the building. You can change the number on your thermostat but you cannot change the actual temperature of the room. The lobby water with cucumbers looks like it is 3 days old.
Worst of all, this location is not remotely representative of the Hyatt brand. It’s old a tired.
Rooms are clean and no bugs. Still, I would try to find a better option if you can.
I'm posting 5 stars for Ginelle at the front desk. I had a billing issue and she figured it out and fixed it promptly. A positive interaction with Ginelle and the Hyatt.
Not long ago, my father would treat his children and grandchildren to a weekend here. Dad passed away several years ago and my brother thought it would be nice to do it all again.
My brother was not getting the answers he was looking for from the Hyatt Regency, so I said I would help out.
Words cannot describe the incompetence, ignorance, arrogance, and indifference we were forced to tolerate while trying to get information.
We were looking at no less than 20 rooms and hosting 2 catered events.
Leading the pack of autonomy was the catering manager Penny Fiorello. I truly feel she did all she could, above and beyond to NOT provide me with any information. After 2 emails, I still did not have the info I requested in the first.
Needless to say, we will seek to host our event in a different venue.
SHAME on you Penny Fiorello, Hyatt, and the Staff and Management of this Motel.
Stayed for two nights. Was nice. Anything needed (extra towels, ice, etc.) was attended to promptly. Friendly staff.
I really dont like giving one-star reviews, but unfortunately, until this is resolved, i dont see a choice. Issues are as follows. 1. They not only charged my company credit card for my stay but also my personal card, so now i have to wait 5-6 business days for that charge to go away. 2. The mattress was so cheap and springing it squeaked with every move. 3. The shower never got warm for all 3 days i stayed! I went down to the lobby to inform the staff, and someone else was already there complaining of the same issue in their room; The staff mentioned that it was an issue they are aware of. Never again will i stay here. 4. Just icing on the cake the coffee machine in the store adjacent to the service desk was flooded all over the counter with nobody monitoring it.
When the issue of being charge twice is resolved i will consider changing my review.
There are two older women working at the front desk who need a course or two in what it means to work in the hospitality industry. Neither greeted me, smiled or made me feel welcomed when I approached the desk for check-in. There was no eye contact with the woman who checked me in, and she sounded like she didn’t care about providing a pleasant check-in experience.
The elevator area smelled like cigarettes.
The shower water temperature fluctuated between hot and cold (as many other reviews stated).
The bed sheets feel like layers of tissue paper.
And lastly, this Hyatt advertises in their amenities that each room has a coffee maker with complimentary Starbucks coffee and tea. The coffee and tea were not Starbucks, so false advertisement, and there was only decaf coffee pods in my room.
Luckily, I was only there for 2 nights. I will be picking a different hotel next time I’m in town for business.
This was my 4th time staying at this hotel the hotel itself is nice and overall clean. I stayed August 24-25. My beef is that I booked through my credit card company for the room like usual. I checked out like usual. My husband and I were literally there to sleep and that’s it! A couple days later I got a first charge of 5.90$ called them they said it was for water. I was furious my husband I always bring our own waters and absolutely did not touch their tacky waters. Then a couple days after that I got charged for the room again? ! I ALREADY paid for the room via my credit card company. So I have called the hotel 4 times Spoke even with the hotel manager Abu and he said he would fix and did not. Now as convenient as the location is this has been a very unnecessary nightmare and a waste of my time so I don’t plan on staying there in the future. I’m still dealing with this nightmare. We were literally there to lay our head. Be careful they take your credit card for incidentals and charge extras like double room charges!
Shout out to Abhi and Jonathan who professionally handled my reservation issue. The entire staff was helpful and got problems solved without delay. This is why you go to Hyatt.
I will return here and recommend this establishment without hesitation.
With 300 dollar a night and such a big hotel, there were only 3 ppl help check in and I waited for 20 minutes to check in. After 20 mins of waiting, I was told my room is not ready and it was 5pm. I never had such a bad experience with Hyatt. I’d give 0 star if I could.
Hyatt Regency hotel in Long Island was overall a good hotel. The lady at checkin was all business. You’re required to leave a 50 dollars deposit. The room was clean. The shower didn’t work well, the water kept changing temperature from hot to cold to warm.
There’s a nice size outdoor pool. The gym was well equipped. Dinner wasn’t good. Breakfast was not included like most hotels. It cost 25 dollars per person.
Absolutely AMAZING. Not only were the layouts of our room convenient, the service was even more extraordinary! They only had one tennis ball for us to play at the tennis court, so the manager went to buy more just for us.then we requested for a volleyball, and they also didn’t have one, but the manager didn’t hesitate at all and said “i’ll make it happen” (he ended up going to the store again). On top of that, when we entered the room we were greeted with a cake (as it was our grandmas birthday), gummy bears, dried snacks, sparkling water, and some dried candies.overall an amazing experience as a globalist in Hyatt and definitely recommend!
Pricey but beautiful hotel. Luxury restaurants, beautiful spaces to read and sit down, lovely staff and great services.
Home away from home! Staff is always happy to help. Bar is awesome and bartenders are great especially Carlos. The housekeeping staff are always prompt and polite and always cleaning and doing something! Everyone works really hard here in every department to make sure your stay is excellent. Two pools and a lovely gym is a plus!
We had a quick stay but it was a pleasant one. It was clean and everything was accessible. Chose Hyatt for a reason.
Fine hotel. Do not use their atm in the lobby had to dispute a claim! Never dispensed any cash and had my card in there ; had to get someone to help me pull it out.
For breakfast adults must pay a $25.00 buffet fee to eat, children pay a $15.00 buffet fee.
The front desk went above and beyond to help us. Expedia did not send them our reservation. Not only did they book us a room but they spoke to Expedia and got them to give us a credit.
I would give them a 10 for service if I could.
This hotel had great rooms and their lobby was chalked full of space to relax and step away from work. They have a nice menu and lobby bar, prices were slightly competitive with some items being a hair overpriced.
The indoor and outdoor pools were nice and private. Plenty of parking and they offered accommodations when other local hotels were fully booked. Book early or prepare to pay over $300 for a night.
4/5.
Needs to be updated badly. Service was okay. Bartender slow. Ther need additional staff, especially on weekends with all the wedding events
