Despite pre-planning and pre-paying for both my mother’s and brother’s funerals, upon their deaths I was informed that everything was wrong and I owed them more money. For both! They wouldn’t ship my mother’s body until I paid the extra amount. It was blackmail at a time when I was reeling having lost them within 3 weeks of each other. When I should have been grieving, I had to spend hours, each time, having to straighten things out that were supposed to be covered by the contracts. In contrast, my in-laws had pre-paid their funerals through their local chapel upstate New York. Not only were their plans carried out smoothly and according to plan, we actually got a refund because interest had accrued to their account. It seems Dignity is taking over the Jewish funeral business. Because of their incompetence, I have decided to be cremated. Lots of luck.

Very caring and affordable service, all the personnel were very nice, compassionate and accommodating. I highly recommend their service.

I grew up knowing the name IJ Morris. They had a fine reputation. I was very pleased with their services that involved receiving my loved one from another state and planning everything remotely. They were caring, professional, helpful and responsive.

Overall a funeral is nothing to rave about. The price was very high. The time prior to the service was slightly rushed. The service itself was very rushed with a novice rabbi who couldn’t get the names right and said my father was a wife. Very impersonal and straight from the book despite the call in advance to acquire the information.
Unfortunately there aren’t many options so that’s why I came back here.
