Il Brigante reviews
15 Brigante is the best Italian restaurant in New York! Delicious food every single time - my husband and I have had almost everything on the menu and never disappointed. The service is unmatched - they treat you like family! Brigante has been a staple in our lives for years. We usually eat food from brigante multiple times a week. A few of our favorites are the bruschetta, burrata, mussels, black ink linguine seafood pasta, the farfalle campagnolla, homemade rigatoni with pink sauce, the bolognese, chicken Marsala, I could go on! The pizzas are also amazing. Fantastic atmosphere, amazing service and delicious food!
Brigante is an all time favorite!
My friends had the spaghetti alla carbonara and said it was just okay, which contradicted to other customers reviews. So I decided to just order penne alla vodka, which is my go to when I don’t want anything else on the menu. It was very good. It was $24 (+$4 for pink sauce). I would def recommend the penne alla vodka, it was al dente and flavorful. The menu was ranging from $20-30+ for entrees. They had cute Christmas decor, and the staff were mostly friendly except the female cashier and provided great service.
Came back with my bf and you have to try their seafood linguine with the mussels, calamari and shrimp. It was so flavorful and delicious! I’d def come back for that again. Their fried calamari and shrimp was very good as well, I asked for it to be well done. It was perfect.
Authentic Italian with great service.
Popped in while on the way to ice skate at around 8PM. Asked if they could accommodate 7 of us within an hour or so. Even though the place was very busy, they said yes.
When we returned, we choose to dine outside in their enclosed outdoor space. It was quiet and cozy, and the electronic candlesticks added to the ambiance.
The food was flavorful and amazing! I had the Linguine alla Scoglio which I recommend. The chicken dish was great too. We all enjoyed our meals and experience.
The waitress was knowledgeable about the food and knew her wine selection. By the way, they only serve beer and wine.
Couldn’t get over how delicious the food tastes. Definitely going back!
Delicious pasta with generous portions. I planned to get the profiteroles as well, but ran out of room! Will have to try them next time.
We've been coming to Il Brigante for about five years and always look forward to our next visit. I'll start with the service: Navid, the manager, always treats us as if we are his favorite customers; I bet many feel similarly. And the staff is equally pleasant, as well as efficient and accommodating.
We generally go for lunch and keep it pretty simple i.e. Broccoli rabe and sausage, a pizza or a simple plate of pasta. They are always very tasty. But on our last visit, Navid suggested the spinach fettuccine with fresh porcini.an absolute winner.something that would bring us back very quickly. Too bad fresh porcini is seasonable.at least I think it is. I'd be eating this on every visit.
As for the ambience.delightful. Located in an old 19th century Seaport building, on a historic street, the brick walls, photos.and.should I say this.the lovely bathroom.all combine to make this a "feel good" "return to often" spot.
Outstanding dining experience! With reservations, they were able to accommodate a table of 8.
Had a really hard time settling on what to order, so many good choices. The table ended up with Fritturella Mista 4/5, Caprese di Bufala 3/5 (To be fair tomatoes aren't in season but the rosemary infused olive oil was a huge hit.) Fusilli Silani 5/5, Fettuccine alla Bolognese 4/5 and the Lobster, Mussell and Squid ink pasta special. 5/5.
The desserts didnt do it for me, but i'm admittedly not one to be blown away by dessert, the table loved their choices though.
Incredible wine selection
We bought Primitivo di Manduria, Riserva Conte di Campiano 2017
Love this spot. Great little local spot in the seaport. I’ve done date nights but also brought my family here more than once
Sehr freundliches Personal und super leckeres Essen angenehme Atmosphäre und für New York faires Preis Leistungsverhältnis
Great little restaurant in New York… ambiance is amazing food is great and the service is excellent
Amazing.ask for the specials the seafood black squid ink pasta the best they were so accommodating with our kids.amazing.
Beautiful restaurant and food, but never had worse service in my life - starting with the host to our server
Great food and staff. Cozy place. Close to the 911 Memorial area at Fullerton square pier area. I think that's what it was called. Clearly a lot of history in the area but I didn't get to discover it much.
Wonderful dinner after a 3-hour walking tour of the financial district by Keith of Keithyorkcity, maybe the most knowledgeable guide in the city. Restaurant is right by the end of the tour and we had a bunch of different things, including gliren-free pastas, that were really tasty, served hot!
Brought my sister out to dinner. First they wouldn’t sit us in the actual restaurant they put the 3 of us in the stupid shanty outside. So right of the bat I wasn’t happy! We order appetizers and a bottle of wine. So far so good. As we were eating our main course to the left of me I see a ROACH! Yuck we all lost our appetites. Told the hostess and our waiter and it went right over there heads. You would think they would have offered us free dessert or something. I had gotten a doggie bag and I threw it away. DISGUSTING. Won’t ever eat there again! GROSS!
