I gotta say I never written a negative review but I will today write a mediocre review… I went today to eat at Poeta Italian restaurant cause my friend said the food was great… well took the family and was immediately disappointed… first they took long to give us bread and water.one of my kids water had something floating… well that didnt bother me much… so I just read the menu.my server never EVER asked us if we wanted to know the daily special.other servers was mentioning it to other patrons… okay… I let that go… wanted to try safe foods like pasta dishes… so I ordered the Ravioli dish wife ordered penne alavodka pasta with salmon and both my kids ordered penne pasta with sauce… well I’m going to say this when it did come out I was floored… both kids dishes had like 20 pieces of penne in the bowl.my Ravioli tasted off like it had prosciutto that tasted raw. I’ll give them that the pasta with salmon my wife ordered tasted great.also what bothered me was that I was never asked if I wanted a refill on my drinks.no one came over to ask if we are okay or even if we wanted desert… just didn’t feel welcomed… and it’s not family style…

This was honestly the worst service I’ve ever experienced. Hector wouldn’t stop hounding us, gave us no time to order, food made me sick. The plates of food are also so tiny. Fish didn’t even taste cooked. Please save your money. For the love of god, don’t come here.

Nice place, delicious food but service very very bad.
We are sitting outside, people who came before me was served first. Waiting for drink 30 minutes, when I'm asking why he served people who came before myself he said you need to wait.
Never ever visited this place again!

Like walking into a chef's home in Italy. Deliciously authentic to the region and prepared with love!

My office order food 2 hours ago which was over $ 100.

When I didn't get my food. I called the restaurant and spoke to Luis. I told him I wanted to speak to manager and told me he is not there to call tomorrow. As I explained to him what happened. He told me he does not offer uber eats. I advised him I was able to place the order and my card was charged. Someone could of called me and told. Instead of waiting.or updated uber eats. Luis was rude and told me he does know anything about this and that they don't use uber eats and told me to wait to speak to manager. Then he hung up the phone.

I had a medical office in Forest Hills and was supporting a neighboring restaurant. I was being nice of ordering food for all my employees for great job. Instead I had employees stay the shift with no lunch. Unprofessional.

If you order-make sure to call to make sure they don't do this to you

If you're looking for a real homie Italian spot on a quiet area Il Poeta is THE place. The food is incredible and the service was amazing. Their seafood pasta was one of the best I've had in a long time. A great setting for an intimate date, or an outing with the family. Will definitely be dining here again!

Amazing environment and food! Worth every penny and excellent date night choice. We celebrated my mom's birthday here and opted for the family style menu. The servers were so nice and attentive to not only us but all customers. Definitely call ahead they get really busy! The head chef is out and about checking in on customers. Definitely give them a try!

This place was SOOO good. I live nearby and I would always pass by and say I want to try the place. I finally did with my best friend. We both are 100% going back. The service was impeccable. The chef came out to thank us for coming and I was just so stunned by how amazing the food was.usually when I intake so much carbs, I bloat, the food is so fresh and organic, I felt amazing! I had the Linguine with shrimp and It was delish, their soup of the day was something I wouldn't usually try, but it was delish. I cannot wait to come back with my family and boyfriend. My hats off to the chef and the staff. The ambiance is also so calming. A little oasis in a busy neighborhood.

The best restaurant experience we’ve had in years. Everything was perfect, the food, the ambiance, and the entire staff. The chef clearly genuinely cares about the food he puts out and makes sure he serves only the best.

Great service and amazing food. Used to go here every Wednesday for their 3 course diner special but that's not available anymore. The chef is friendly and polite. Calamari and mussels are the best appetizer and any pasta dish is amazing. Go to dessert is the creme Brulee

Always a great time one of our favorite date restaurants in Forest Hills. The food is incredible starting with the bean spread that comes with the bread. This evening we had three of the special appetizers, the octopus, baked clams and the burrata. We actually ordered the burrata later after we watched come out from the kitchen a few times it was my favorite. She had the beef bolognese and I had the calf liver. We both enjoyed our entrees. Always room for dessert! Can't wait to visit again.
