Inlet Seafood Restaurant, Montauk NY

Definitely top 1 or 2 restaurant in MTK. Located right on the inlet, epic sunsets and you can watch the boats come in and out. SUSHI! Literally best sushi in town. So fresh and prepared perfectly. Fish is so fresh and seasonal, exactly what you want from a fishing town. Clam chowder was so good on a cool, drizzly day. Seared tuna app, yellowtail app, seaweed salad are some of our favorites. They also have sandwiches and entrees. Service is epic, they are always busy. We go for an early lunch and get bar seats with a perfect view of the water. They are super sustainable and only serve fresh fish and whatever is in season. The fluke sashimi was unlike any raw fish I've had. Note they stop serving food for an hour between lunch and dinner 3: 30-4: 30. Enjoy the food and the view!

Really good food, my scallops were delicious. We all enjoyed our meals. They also have an extensive drink menu. We sat outside so we could watch the boats going by

I just want to respond to owner response, how did we treat your staff? We left. And I wonder if strollers are fire hazard does that mean you also don't allow persons in wheelchair? You clearly are not kid friendly and possibly not ADA friendly as well (People can look up comment from Jahn Xavier Bonfiglio). As I said my kid was sleeping in the stroller if your restaurant was accommodating to customers your staff would make room to sit us downstairs. They simply wanted us to leave which we found extremely disrespectful, possibly they didn't like our skin color. Also people can just go through the comments to see how snobby your staff and management is, its not only us lot of other people are unhappy with your rude staff behavior. And the way you respond to reviews speaks a lot about your personality as well. Hardly thanking people who leave good reviews and trying to stick it to people who talk about honest bad experience at your restaurant. You guys definitely don't know how to treat people nicely. People please read the reviews before deciding to visit this place and save yourselves from a sour experience.

I have been going to Inlet for years and it is by far my favorite. Went with a larger group last night and everyone loved their food. We had the cauliflower, artichoke and calamari for shared starters and a mix of sushi, cooked fish and salads as main courses. High quality food all around, and lovely hard working staff. Will be back again - and again.

This is the best restaurant in Montauk period. The food is fantastic! We ordered: mussels, sushi, roasted chicken, tuna steak, and pasta with shrimp and scallops. Every single dish was delicious and the servings are massive making it well worth the price. The staff are also very accommodating.

NOTE: They do not take reservations. So depending on when you arrive you could wait an hour+ for a table… which would be worth it to be honest.

Does not take reservations, however gave an estimated wait of 1.5 hours for a table for 2. The bar staff was inattentive and disregarded bids by patrons to get a drink. Overall, incredibly disappointed in the service and clientele it attracted. If I could give 0 stars I would.

If an unfriendly atmosphere and snobbishly trendy staff are what you crave, this is the place for you. In 40 years worth of Montauk vacations, I have never been treated quite so shabbily. I could tell from the moment we arrived that my 80-year old mother with a cane was just not 'fabulous' enough for the woman at the door. Clue for the clueless: you're still just the door person at a Montauk restauramt. I have never been made to feel so immediately umwelcome at a place of business, and I've lived in Manhattan for my entire life, fer chrissakes! Thank heavens we made a split decision to not be treated in such a rude manner, turned on our heels, and had the best of all possible Montauk meals at the Westlake Fish House. Go there instead. We're a family with members in the restaurant business their whole lives. We order big, are friendly, polite and well-behaved, and we tip like only those who have worked for and depended on tips can do. We will make sure to warn all of our friends and family to avoid the Inlet like the plague.

Hours online as well as phone message states the establishment is open on Thursday however upon making the drive out they are in fact closed on Thursday

Food was excellent - big portion sizes too especially the fish. Great high view seating of the water. Overall, my experience was great as a first timer.

Magical experience right on the bay with truly magnificent atmosphere and even better food! The fish was all beyond fresh and the sushi far exceeded expectations. Inspired cuisine, friendly & attentive staff and a stunning visual experience overlooking the water. Inlet is a must-do if you are lucky enough to find a table next time you're in Montauk!

Beautiful spot on Montauk point with great views from the decks and the backyard. The cocktails are carefully crafted, a rarity in Montauk, and the seafood is unbeatable. The lobster ravioli is a special treat. Expect a long wait at peak hours but it's a great place to pass the time.

This place is bizarre - firstly, tips are expected at the time of order at the counter without a chance to experience the service.

The service was very POOR. We ordered a family size salad, shrimp and clam chowder soup and asked if they could provide tabasco sauce but was told to request the server when the soup arrives.

I requested the server for the tabasco sauce, which never came! After waiting for a long time for the sauce and salad, we requested the stewardess to check what was going on since the server was no where to be seen. She promptly checked and brought the tabasco. Since I was almost done with the soup, she offered and got me another cup of soup, which is greatly appreciated.

However, there was one leafy ingredient in the salad which was extremely bitter and we had to weed it out for the food to be edible. When we requested the server to let the chef know about the problem so that others don't get that particular leaf in their salad, his reaction shocked us! He said - you are the only persons who are complaining and I will NOT (he emphasized NOT) say anything to the chef.

It goes without saying that I will never visit or recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Pork chop was raw in the middle and Diet Coke had no flavor. Too much club soda not enough syrup. Did not offer to compensate for in cooked meat.

The hospitality was welcoming and the food and drinks were beyond amazing. Servers were very attentive to our needs. Loved that they had so many options and with the perfect portioning. For ever coming back!

Great view of the water and seemingly fresh food! A very hidden spot at the end of the island; all who visit Montauk should stop by this restaurant!

If you're going for the views or the sushi and you don't mind poor service then you'll have a great time. Our wait time was more than what was predicted by their host. We ordered immediately when we sat due to the long wait beforehand. Our waitress asked us if we wanted dessert before we got our meals that's how long it took to get the food. Then after we ate she asked if we received our food yet and even asked the kitchen because she had no clue what was going on at our table. You get different staff members handing out food without asking if theirs anything you need with it. We got our sushi without utensils or a bowl for soy sauce. Overall. Poor service. Place has gone downhill. Sushi was great.
