Had a really great experience here with my family + my dog! The rooms are super cozy and warm, and the breakfast / lunches were a really great addition to the accommodation. We hiked the trail & went skiing nearby given the season, but it seems like it’d be a great place to go back to in the spring / fall as well! Thanks Matt & team!

A beautiful and peaceful Inn. The Staff was excellent. Helpful in many ways to make one's experience a delightful memory.

We stayed at the Inn for a long weekend, 3 nights in total just this month of September.

On the plus sides, the location is fantastic, with beautiful hiking trails, wild life and Matt, the host was very kind and would happily provide guidance and asked several times if we were comfortable. Breakfast is generous and fairly tasty. Having tennis courts onsite was a big plus and it is possible to swim on the lake or at the swimming pool. The room was clean as compared to many other hotels I visited, which helps balance the fact that rooms and a the place is old and need a serious refurbishing!

On the minus side, the pictures do not give a fair description of the place which looks more old than cozy in reality. The staff although very kind does not have experience with children making the place not ideal if traveling with a baby. We were put in a room upstairs despite mentioning that we have a one year old child a few days before arrival. The place does not have cribs or high chairs and do not serve dinner so we had to drive to the nearest town for dinner, all not convenient when traveling with a baby. Everyone is asleep at 9.30 pm when we arrived and we did not want to disturb even if I am sure the staff will respond to our needs. It is not a place where you can have a drink or a quiet evening in the common areas after dinner. All rooms have carpets, which is not ideal if you have allergies and/or a crawling baby as this is not a hygenic especially knowing that it is a pet friendly hotel.

Rooms are not serviced during the stay, you have to ask for your bed and rooms to be tided up which the staff happily took care of when we asked. But the servicing was below par, the bed was barely made, the bathroom sink, toilet and shower not wiped or sanitized. The used mugs were not exchanged for clean ones, we had to wash our used coffee mugs ourselves to use them again.
The bed linens are performance sheets which if you get hot while sleeping is not ideal.
We may go back because of the location and the kindness of the staff but it will be a compromise on our comfort standards. Overall not great value for the money

Stayed here for my 50th birthday and had the perfect weekend. The property is so quiet and beautiful with a private lake for boating. The room/jacuzzi were clean, Sleep Number bed was comfortable and I love that they repurposed the old horse barn doors as a head board. Matt is a very kind, thoughtful and attentive inn keeper and we loved the breakfast he brought to our deck everyday.

We stayed for several nights at the Eagles Nest Cabin with our 2 dogs. The pictures do not match the occupancy furniture. It needs lots of repairs, specially the carpets. We found garbage under the sofa cushions. Some outside lights aren't working properly. Very dark at night. It looks creepy and out of time, like the 70s era. Too overpriced.

We didn't stay there but drove there from Callicoon to see what we missed. The inn is right by the lake but very remote. We had a nice walk around the trail. Certainly, fishing would be great. We saw a huge splash near the boat launching pad. Must be a bass chasing some fries.

Stayed mid March for a birthday getaway for hubby, loved that we could bring the dog (Dogwood Room, had a neat layout). The lake activities weren't available yet but we enjoyed the property and the quiet, as well as the fireplace and tub. Service was excellent and the property clean. Included meals were great. By the end of the weekend we felt refreshed and plan to go back. Excellent place for couples. Thanks to the whole team for a great escape!

Went here for a long weekend and had a great time. Service from Matt the Inn keeper was incredible and friendly. He never hesitated to offer assistance or recommendations. Breakfast was delicious and lunch was a nice addition.

We took our dog and she had a great time walking the property and going out on the rowboats. There are ticks and wildlife in the area so you have to be mindful.

This is a place to go if you want to relax and enjoy a little bit of the outdoors. It's not a place to go if you're looking to party or for an unlimited amount of activities. We took advantage of the trail, the tennis court, the free board games, the fire pit and, most importantly, the lake.

Great stay and would definitely like to go back.

What a wonderful way to celebrate our 30th anniversary! Matt, you are truly a wonderful person and so genuine! Thank you for making our stay so relaxing! The lake is so majestic and the view is amazing! The breakfast was delicious and the picnic lunch is good too! The room met our expectations and the whirlpool bath is great as well and the sleep number bed was quite comfortable too. Will be back for sure! Definitely recommend! This place has such a cool vintage vibe and so worth it!

I needed a pet friendly room at the last minute for one night during a construction project. Matt was so accomodating and helped me right out. The room was so cozy and the sleep number bed can be adjusted to your desired support. The whirlpool tub was awesome and they had a really nice selection of scented oils to choose from to add to the water. We had our own balcony deck to use and a fireplace in the room with a timer. I never sleep well in hotels and I slept like I was at home. The room was very quiet and we did not hear any other activity in our room. The breakfast was quite good and they deliver it to the room, if requested. I didn't partake in the activities due to the circumstance of the stay, but the grounds are beautiful and I could imagine anyone enjoying hiking around with their pets on a stay here.

Such an amazing gateway. Talk about leaving everything behind and just focusing on what is happening then and there and spending an amazing time with your loved one. So relaxing so peaceful. Matt the innkeeper was amazing. Such a great guy very personable and has great recommendations on what to go see if you want to take a drive around. There is also a lake with kayaks available and you can also fish. There’s a hiking trail about 2.3 milesish that passes the lake and into the woods. There’s a campfire with s’mores at night. Breakfast and a bagged lunch is included. And rooms with a fireplace and a two person jet tub! And the softest robes. I mean come on people book a room already! Really truly an amazing place to go to. It’s in the middle of nowhere so you do need about 10-15 minutes to get to a place for dinner (besides a pizza place super close by) but it’s good to stretch for a few. Does need some general updating to keep it looking fresh but at the same it’s what makes it more homey and comfy. Will definitely come back again for winter cozy getaway. Great price, great service, great everything. Once again thank you so much Matt and you stop reading and go book!

Absolutely lovely property and the innkeepers and hosts are kind and personable. The rooms are warm and comfortable and what a find that they are pet friendly. We brought our dog and she was very happy. Nice trail around the lake, good for an early morning hike after breakfast. The bagged lunches are quite good as well. Some good hiking in the area.
