The positioning and cropping of these photos are AWFUL. I'm calling the school to complain and recommend a company that actually knows how to use a camera.

Just got my children's photos, I am in shock! It's horrible, lightning, colors, pose and on top of that the prices are insane! Never in my life have I seen school photos done so badly. No words, really.

My daughter goes to Harborfields High School and last year, she got her Junior pictures taken by one of the photographers. The pictures came out horrible. Whoever was in charge placed her in an awkward pose, making it look as if she was about to fall over. On top of that, we’re black, so the lighting made her skin look extremely orange. I don’t know why so many school districts commission this place. The low ratings should have been a red flag. I can attest that these reviews are not exaggerated. Their customer service is horrible and their photos look way too amateur in quality for them to be charging so much money.

So I just moved to Ronkonkoma from Bay Shore and I have 2 kids and they are split as of August. So one goes to Bay Shore High School and one goes to Connetquot High School. I have noticed that for the same exact package its two different prices, one was 50 and one was 44. I want to know Why. So I have a unique situation but mosts parents don't have a clue that its different prices for different areas which I feel is discrimation. Places that have more money they charge more and its not fair everyone should be one price for school photos. When I called the guy I talked to when I said I wanted both for 44 each, he said there was nothing he could do. I will tell everyone I can about the price difference and how unfair it is. Now I miss out because I can't afford 2 packages of the same thing for two different prices. Disgusting

Absolute worst price gouging business of all time. I’ve literally never seen a business as despicable as this to try and screw over new graduates on ridiculously overpriced photos. Their cheapest option is $140 for literally ONE photo of yourself with different green screen backgrounds. No self-respecting business or school should do business with them.

AND they will spam your.edu email every single day. I literally have dozens of spam emails from them and I never gave them my email.

The customer service is bad and photos are overpriced. I purchased the two image download and premium retouching for 121 for my graduation pictures However, I only received my two image download and no premium editing. I sent multiple emails to the customer service representative about this but I have yet to receive a response for a service I payed 25 dollars.

Extremely disappointed with the service. My graduation pictures didn’t came that great but just keep something as memorable, I ordered two sets of pictures. The first set of proof came in soaking wet, and second set of proof came in with ink all over the pictures. This is so ridiculous that they don’t put any extra effort to keep the picture safe for the shipment process.

They mixed me up with another girl who was the same race as me and sent me her graduation photos instead.when I called they left me on hold for an hour then hung up.

So your photography place doesn’t pick up the phone! Every time I call I hear a fax machine going off! It’ll ring than go to fax! I just want my photos or money back! I don’t no why my school pick some of the most unreasonable places

It is such a shame that this company is still around and still working. DO NOT GIVE THEM A CENT. I cannot stress enough how horrible they are. Terrible photos held hostage for hundreds of dollars.

Island Photography is a price-gouging racket. They charge $50 for an individual, digital image. Anyone can tell that is not a reasonable price for an event where they were taking photos of thousads of people. There were two people there for my grad photos and 1,200 students graduating, so by my math those two people are trying to split 60 Gs two ways for four hours of work.

I just received the Proofs, and I have to say I am extremely disappointed. I was given no warning for the portrait, nor did they take multiple options, so I look surprised. Out of the THREE (yes, only 3, for the entire event) pictures that were taken, only one is "good", and I am walking and not looking at the camera. There is no due over! Disappointment is an understatement for what I am feeling right now. Thanks to the Gods I had family that was able to attend and took some pictures of me, with their phones of course. VERY SAD, and now I am also reading here that if I order prints they might come with damages too. Ugh. DO BETTER PLEASE!

Before I write my review on MY experience, please keep in mind things happen and people should always be given a chance and not be judged based on the opinion and review of others. I was very pleased with the poses of my sons College Pictures. When they came they were really nice, clear and good quality. Unfortunately, they came damaged. Clearly it was shipping damage. Even though they were in this very sturdy large envelope with "PHOTOS DO NOT BEND" printed on it they managed to be creased and dented. Island Photography IMMEDIATELY, no questions asked, had my pictures reprinted and sent in a box that completely protected my pictures. They arrived PERFECT. Mistakes get made, things happen but for me how a company handles it and corrects it - well that is what's important.

Horrible. I had no customer service. Supposedly they had a deal with my school Lehman college and I had no chance of getting my pictures taking. I tried to apply, I called and they gave me the boot.
The worst part is, it's the only company doing this graduation pictures. This might be my last graduation in my entire lifetime and they didn't care to help.

Locked in, because apparently no one else will take the pictures for our baseball league, but they honestly could not possibly care less. I’m sure it’s a lot, but when your job is to take pictures of kids, it’s part of the job description that you were working with the kids and might have to put forth a little effort.

Island photography

Extremely disappointed with Island Photography.   The pictures for our baseball team are terrible.
You cannot see the boys faces Because of the shade from the brim of their hats. It’s not just a little dark, it is so bad that you can’t make out their faces.

The moms on the team called and emailed several times with little to no response. I finally got Peter on the phone and he informed me that although he agrees that the photographer should have used more lighting and or positioned them differently; there is little he can do except to try and photoshop the pictures. Although I was hoping they would send someone else to re-take the pictures, I appreciated that he would remove the shade from their faces. Unfortunately the photoshopped pictures were worse then the originals, they made their faces look deformed!
We have 16 seniors that will not have senior baseball portraits this year.

The right thing to do would be to RETAKE the pictures, this was the fault of the photographer.

Due to the customer service and how they handled a mistake that could have been corrected, I truly hope my school district reconsiders using Island Photography next year.
